Just to name a few familiar names of which there too many to name, joining forces are Pat Robertson, Rick Joyner, John Arnott, Bishop Sam Jacobs (Roman Catholic Diacese of Alexandria, LA), Charles Blake, Cindy Jacobs, John Kilpatrick, Jack Hayford, Stephen Hill, Richard Roberts, Fuchsia Pickett, Jim Murphy, Vernon & Valerie Stoop, Fr. THE CATHOLIC FRANCISCAN UNIVERSITY OF STEUBENVILLE SPONSOR:
and is administering this conference. The Catholic University is listed under Educational Institution with an income of almost $38 million. The North American Renewal Service Committee that is from Sassamansville, PA sponsors the Conference. It was founded in 1986, a private independent philanthropy grantmaking organization which does not file because it doesn't have an income but grants money. To sponsor means to be a guarantor, a surety, one who takes responsibility. It would be interesting to find out who has set aside money to bring all the denominations together. Many of these types of ministries have no information filed in the "non-profit" slot with the IRS. Cindy Jacobs is one exception, out of Colorado Springs and reports close to a half a million income for 1998.
THE STEERING COMMITTEE
is made up of American Baptist Charismatic Fellowship (Clark); The Assemblies of God (Messner, Radke, Strader); Catholic (Cinquini, Gordon, Iaquinta, Kellar, Kramar, Matthews, Murphy, Ranaghan, Sklorenko); Charismatic Episcopal Church (Pearson); Church of Christ (Bevis); Church of God (Richardson); Church of God in Christ (Green III, Green, Jr.); Church of God of Prophecy (Williams); Elim Fellowship (Evans); Empowered Ministries (Fike); Episcopal Renewal Ministries (Beach, Fulton, Jr., Reischman); International Church fo the Foursquare Gospel (Holmes); Independent (Carriker, Garlington, Jackson, Paris); International Lutheran Renewal (Rossin); Mount Sinai Holy Church (Amos); Pencostal Holiness Church (Hunter, Leggett); Presbytarian-Reformed Renewal Ministries International (Long); Regent Univsersity School of Divinity (Synan); Strang Communicaions (Strang, Welday); United Church of Christ (Stoop, Stoop); United Methodist (Brown, Kelso, Moore); and Weslyan-Holiness Charismatic Fellowship (Jackson). Local organizers DCN. Dennis Chitwood, Archdiocese of St. Louis and Edwin Bass Pastor, The Empowered Church.
Who Is Behind This Celebraton? From the Discernment Newsletter: May/June 2000 in an article "Celebrate Jesus 2000", Dr. Opal Reddin writes: "The ecuenical movement is held by a Church that admittedly plans to bring all other churches under its control. For example, "Father" Ray Ryland, a professor of theology at Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH, works with "Coming Home Network," an organization whose purpose is to "draw in separated brethren."
"In an article in THIS ROCK, March 2000, he explains how Catholics are to carry out Vatican II's ecumenical agenda, both covertly and overtly. He writes, "The goal of Catholic ecumenism is to restore unity to the separated traditions by bringing them within the unity of the Catholic Church... "Celebrate Jesus 2000".. is sponsored by the North American Renewal Service Committee (NARSC), an ecumenical organization bringing together many Charismatics, Third Wavers, and Pentecostals from many denominations.
"It is essential that we remember the Roman Catholic priests who participate have an agenda. If they were not loyal to the pope in his encyclical Ut Unum Sint (That They May Be One), they would not remain priests. Pope John Paul II is not a Charismatic, but he is willing to tolerate and "use" those who speak in tongues to accomplish his nefarious purpose. Let the sheep be warned and let true shephers be alert."
In the article "The Web of Ecumenism: Charismatic/ Catholic Connections in Discernment Newsletter, May/June 2000 p.3: "Among several publicaitons of the Catholic Answers, Inc. organization are two periodicals aimed at combating the witness of evangelicals. One is called "Be" and is endorsed by Cardinal Francis George, Archbishop of Chicago. (Interestingly, Cardinal George is also an ECT (Evangelicals and Catholics Together) endorser, having worked closely with Charles Colson in the drafting process of that ecumenical document.) Another magazine is named "THIS ROCK" and bills itself as "the magazine of Catholic Apologetics and Evangelization." Catholic Apologist Karl Keating is the guiding hand behind both of these magazines.
"Mr. Keating's published materials reveal that he is as opposed to evangelical belief as genuine evangelicals have historically been opposed to the Roman Catholic sacramental system. (As with most modern Catholics and Protestants, Mr. Keating mistakenly groups evangelicals with Protestantism.)..
"Something that caught my eye in the most recent edition of THIS ROCK (March 2000) was an article entitled "Apologetics is Where the Action Is, But Ecumenism is Equally Important." .. it was written by "Father" Ray Ryland, a professor of theology at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio... "The goal of Catholic ecumenism is to restore unity to the separated traditions by bringing them within the unity of the Catholic Church (Decree on Ecumenism, 24)"
These events about "World Evangelization" (NARSC) date back to 1987 (New Orleans), 1990 (Indianapolis), 1995 (Orlando) and 1997 (Charismatics & Catholics - Kansas City).
"Dr. Paul Cedar .. is president and CEO of Mission America, an ecumenical organization that claims to be "evangelical" and that also claims the willing participation of every Southern Baptist church (which is another deception). [The two organizations are contractually linked.] .. Ecumenism is deceptively living off of Cooperative Program funds that are given by thousands of unsuspecting SBC churches... The purpose of this information is to inform the Lord's people of the dangerous infiltration of ecumenical activity even within "conservative" SBC ranks.. This information comes from the Raden Report put out by a small Southern Baptist church warning against the pull toward ecumenism.. (source: Deception in the Church Newsletter by Sandy Simpson)
