LONDON: Pastor Greg Haslam is to take over from RT Kendall at Westmister Chapel Greg, senior pastor at Winchester Family Church, commented: "The prospect of this move has alniost overwhelmed myself and my wife, Ruth, but the Lord has made it clear that it is all part of his bigger plan."

RT Kendall said Greg bad been his first choice as successor: "The combination of the Word and the Spirit is exceedingly rare in Britain and elsewhere, and I know Greg fulfils this." RT Kendall, who has been at Westminster Chapel for 25 years, will leave in January Christian Herald 17.11.01

Since Terry Virgo and the New Frontiers Inter. are Dominionist, this means Westminster Chapel where Martin Lloyd Jones once preached will be Dominionist in theology. (11.27.01)

[Reply] I think you might be a little too strong in your assertion that Greg Haslam will bring Dominionism to Westminster Chapel. I know him well enough to say that his great love is theology of the traditional reformed kind and that he combines this with a charismatic emphasis. My contact with him leads me to believe that he is not Dominionist and in my questioning of a local NFI pastor it would appear that the stream is also not Dominionist. The book on the end times by John Hosier, their in-house theologian, is probably representative of that group of churches and there is very little in it that could be said to be Dominionist.

On the other hand, NFI is a group of Restoration churches, believing in the restoration of the charismatic gifts, and the five-fold ministry as well seeking to restore an end time church of similar power and effectiveness as that of the Acts. How far they go into Dominionism is uncertain, but it is certainly not to the extent of those in the New Apostolic Reformation in the States. In fact I understand there has been a parting of the ways between them and Restorationists in the UK.

I could be wrong in the above comments, although I have checked them with a personal friend of Greg Haslam."

[Question] I would be very grateful to hear your view on this. Incidentally I shall attending a conference here in the UK at which Greg Haslam is the main speaker. It is certainly not a Dominionist conference!

[Reply] CAUTION - CAUTION - CAUTION

Restoration of the charismatic gifts, the five-fold ministry and probably world wide revival is about as dominionist as you can get. J. does not understand the difference in threads of linked doctrines of the Bible. From what he said I can believe this is a unhealthy unbiblical movement. Let me guess - he brought the new music with him too, now the church is come alive. Yes, alive meotionally. But what about spiritually with holiness, witnessing, and messages that exalt ' Jesus Christ and the Bible, not a leader, worship or movement.

Love in Christ Jesus
