Human Life International:
God Is Neither Male Nor Female Says 'Fatherhood'
Expert at Fonda/Turner Foundation Conference

FRONT ROYAL, Va., Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was issued today by Human Life International:

``It takes an entire village to raise a child,'' Dr. Kwame Kalimara told an audience of about 400 people today at the CNN Center in Atlanta, Ga., during the 5th annual conference of the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (G-CAPP).

Kwame, a panelist on a ``Fatherhood Roundtable'' -- organized by Jane Fonda, chair of G-CAPP, and launched with money from the Turner Foundation -- also advised fathers and families that they needed ``to work on changing the language.'' Parents need to ``look at those things that are inclusive as opposed to exclusive,'' he said, adding that, as a result, ``we need to redefine what a man is, redefine what a woman is, redefine what a child is and redefine what a family is.''

That's a large part of what Jane Fonda and Ted Turner want to do, not only in Georgia, but nationwide, said Fr. Richard Welch, president of Human Life International. ``It's self-destructive and anti-Christian,'' Welch added. ``But this is what self-appointed social engineers with millions of dollars are trying to do in the world today -- and their whole agenda is God-less or anti- God. The Holy Trinity is a reflection of the Holy Family, and marriage and family were created by God. When Man tries to change that or 'redefine' it, the result is chaos and moral disorder. Look at the Fonda-Turner family.''

``A man is not the traditional Western man,'' said Kalimara. ``When we look in our communities we understand that we all have different roles and in today's society we have to be very flexible about those roles ... I have to get in touch with that feminine aspect of who I am.''

Another thing society needs to re-examine, said Kwama, is talk about spirituality. ``My view is that the spirit is 'bi-une.' What I mean by 'bi-une' is, both female and male -- that is to say it's not God the Father Male, God the Son Male, God the Holy Spirit Male. It's about redefinition ... Western society is not structured to promote family life.''

Father Welch expressed outrage at the attempt to neuter God, and to demean the role of family life in Western society. ``If we have a problem in Western Society it is only that we have strayed from the Christian model of the family. This conference is attempting to move us farther and farther from a true western and Christian understanding of our roles as male and female ... our roles in the family ... the family's critical role as the mainstay of western civilization ... and of our role in loving and serving God, the Father.

``It is a terrible shame, given Ms. Fonda's recent claims to have accepted the Lord, that she lends her name and support to a program that is determined to undermine God's plan for love and family. Every true Christian, every true supporter of the family will repudiate Jane Fonda, Ted Turner, and the sponsors of this evil event.''

The Fatherhood Roundtable is part of a four-day conference run by G-CAPP. Its chair is Jane Fonda and its executive director is Lyn May. Sponsors of this year's conference -- ``Building Bridges: Preparing for the Future'' -- include United Parcel Service, Coca-Cola, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia, Black Entertainment Television and the Turner Broadcasting System.
