Ed note: A caller this morning said that he runs a radio station, no name given, and that VP Chenney sold 27 billion dollars worth of technology to Iraq and he was confused about the message coming from the White House. We went on Internet to substantiate this message and could not do it. We did come across this editorial which was priceless. We had to pulbish it. The article was published by a Pakistani Community Service, Tribune International. 5.29.2002. And, you know, we were just moving along just right, and just kind of having ahh, you know, time and all of a sudden we got attacked, and now were at war, but were at war to keep the peace. This is the language of the President of the Worlds most powerful nation, United States of America. George W. Bush A man with enigmatic character - He belongs to Americas highest political family father, Bush the former President of America; mother, Barbara a role model first lady; brother Jeb Bush Governor of Florida and conversely a former Managing General partner of the Texas Rangers Baseball (1989-94), an owner of oil company Arbusto (means Bush in Spanish) Oil Corp (in 1977), a deal maker using other peoples money to drill for oil, elected twice (in 1994 and 1998) the governor of Texas. A student started with Bachelor degree in history and ended with Master in Business Administration. One minute, he seems to be a man of extreme statesmanship, leading the world on war on terrorism. The next, he appears to have only the slightest grip on the issues before him, finds himself struggling to define the things right. Recently, on the occasion of the six-month anniversary of the September 11 attacks, on March 11 he spoke of the importance of all nations staying the course and ensuring terrorists never got their hands on nuclear, chemical or germ weapons. Just after two days, in a press conference, when asked about leaked reports of a controversial Pentagon Nuclear Posture Review, which set out contingencies where seven countries could be targeted by nuclear weapons, Mr. Bush couldn't quite remember its name (Nuclear Posture Review). Unfortunately, he has never been able to pronounce nuclear. When asked in the same press conference, again, whether smaller nuclear weapons being sought by the Pentagon might mean they were more likely to be used, he didn't answer directly and instead went off on a ramble which produced the following sentences: "And, you know, we were just moving along just right, and just kind of having ahh, you know, time, and all of a sudden we got attacked, and now we're at war, but we're at war to keep the peace." Finally, he ended the answer a little later, trailing off with "and, anyway . . .". Even on the war on terrorism he struggled to find the right tone. He said, for instance, that nobody grieved more than he did when American troops died big claims, and one that might well be disputed by wives, parents and children of the men killed. Shortly after the Sept. 11 attacks, Bush said he wanted bin Laden dead or alive. Since then, as bin Laden vanished and the war progressed, Bush shifted his message, saying the war was about more than one man. Then, he was unaware as to where Osama bin Laden was or whether he was alive but stressed that the US-led war on terrorism had left the suspected terrorist mastermind marginalized, he said: Terror is bigger than one person, and hes a person whos now been marginalized. His host government has been destroyed, he said, adding that the Saudi-born dissident had met his match in the Afghanistan campaign. About President Saddam Hussein, recently while Vice President Dick Chenney was visiting Middle East, Bush said: I am deeply concerned about Iraq, and so should the American people be concerned about Iraq, and so should people who love freedom be concerned about Iraq. This is a nation run by a man who is willing to kill his own people by using chemical weapons. A man who wont let inspectors into the country. A man whos obviously got something to hide he remains a problem, and were going to deal with him. While he denied thinking much at all of Osama bin Laden these days, it was clear another bad guy is much in his thoughts. Was it true that an American pilot downed in the Gulf War might still be a prisoner in Iraq? The Pentagon suddenly said it has no evidence that the report is true but Mr Bush said: I know that the man has had a missing-in-action status, and it reminds me once again about the nature of Saddam Hussain, if in fact hes alive presumably the pilot, not Hussain. Replying to a question, in press conference, on a new US review of contingencies that could see the use of nuclear weapons against countries such as Iraq, Iran, Libya, North Korea and Syria, Bush said America's weapons to be reduced by about a third in coming years were a deterrent. He expressed as: "We've got all options on the table, because we want to make it very clear to nations that you will not threaten the US or use weapons of mass destruction against us or our allies. The nuclear weapons were Aaa .. Aaa.. a way to say to people that would harm America, 'Don't do it there is a consequence." Talking to his own American people he said: Matter of fact, it reinforces the fact that anybody would be as cold and heartless as to hold an American flyer for all this period without notification of his family. I just wouldnt put it past me wouldnt put it past him. On the issue of Kashmir, the best advise he gave to Pakistani and Indian leaderships was this: the best possible solution for Indian and Pakistanis is that . Aa Aa the Pakistani and Indian leaders sit on the table and have a serious and meaningful talk. Can anybody extract any opinion from this statement? Here are some more matchless flair of Bushisms: He referred Pakistanis as Paki without the knowledge of the background of this word later he apologised. Referring Pakistan in public and press meetings he find very hard to remember the name of General Pervez Musharraf. He called the war on terrorism as crusade against evildoers (revived for some images of the 11th century Christian crusades against Islam), then infinite justice and finally war against terrorism. He calls axis of evil to Iran, North Korea and Iraq In a press conference with Tony Blair when asked whether the two leaders had found they shared anything in common? Bush replied: Colgate Toothpaste Bush always calls Dick Cheney as Waldo Bush calls his cat "India"? When Bush became President of USA, he added to the menu of the White House mess the Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Since Bush became President, a group of senior White House staffers who convene each week to plot political strategy, call themselves "The Strategery Group. When Bush became the President, the Bush administration released an energy plan calling for more oil drilling and exploration, more electrical power plants, more nuclear power plants and more coal-burning plants When asked by a child in Britain to describe the White House, Bush replied, "It is white" In last November Bush signed a controversial executive order - Allowing him to keep all the records of his administration and his father's sealed indefinitely
