Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of
her youth. The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off
from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD'S ministers,
mourn. The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is
wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth. Be ye
ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat
and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished.
The vine is dried up, and the
fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also,
and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered:
because joy is withered away from the sons of men. Gird yourselves,
and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come,
lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat
offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house
of your God. Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather
the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house
of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD" (Joel 1:1-14)

this ministry. We were Mormons (Temple Mormons) for 20 years.
We prayed to God in 1992 to allow us to do a ministry speaking
out against Scientology. Six months later God led us to the truth:
out of the cult of Mormonism. We did not know at the time we
were in a cult. No-one had witnessed to us in 20 years.
- The Holy Spirit brought us to information about all the cults
and the present development of the New World Order. We began
bringing our research to you. Because all the research was already
done, we decided to build a library within Cephas Ministry. Our

anger which is strictly prohibited in Scripture. It is to shed
light on activities by those who would deceive those who are

The focus of these newsletters is to prove why we had to leave

God always had during the Old / New Testament Times.

The news about churches is unedited unless indicated by Ednotes.
The church as we knew it, is undergoing disintegration. This
began on a fast track in the early nineteen sixties when the
Catholic Church produced liberal Vatican II to replace Vatican
I.
- The trend since then has been ecumenical which is truly what
the word 'Catholicism' means: a universal religion all
inclusive and multicultural. The Bible calls for a final church
and today's church doesn't resemble what Jesus taught. The Word
of God has undergone many changes to fit the progressive modes.
Many new Bible tranlations have brought confusion. The Bible
calls for a falling away from the truth before
Jesus comes back for His Bride. The true believers are called
'Ekklesia.' Our newsletters prove this fact and prove that the
Bible is true from beginning to end.
- The second section is about globalism
where we bring your attention to the social, political and global
trend, the so called democratizing what is left of the world.
This is a deception since the underlying new world global government
is developed by implementing sustainable development. The
Bible prophesies that there will be ten kings (ten horns), each
king (horn) will receive a region of the world as a reward for
work well done for the Antichrist. This is the reason for the
present development of NAU (The North American Union) as well
as the war in the Middle East. It again proves that we are moving
to closure of the times of the Gentiles prophesied in the Bible.
The end result will not be Democracy but a form of Fascist Communism
(Public/Private Corporations enslaving mankind).
- The third section compliments End Time
teachings because Israel is the time piece of the Biblical Prophecy.
1948 was the beginning of the figtree representing Israel, coming
back to life. Israel was allowed to return to its land. Israel
is the rock upon which the world stumbles and crumbles. We watch
and visit Israel for signs which point to the Tribulation to
confirm that we are moving into that space of time.

- ISRAEL AND THE UNITED STATES

- Why is it that happenings in the tiny
country of Israel receive so much coverage by the United States'
news media? Why is it that the U.S. government is so involved
in Israel's political affairs? Learned Christians know that nothing
has ever happened, nor will ever happen, contrary to God's sovereign
decree:
- "For I am God,
and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times
the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand,
and I will do all of my pleasure: . . . . . yea, I have spoken
it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will
also do it" (Isaiah
46:9-11).
- Therefore, we must conclude that God is
bringing to pass His plan and on His timetable.
- Everyone who knows anything about Bible
prophecy knows that it is late in the day of the Gentile Church
Age and the tribulation shadows are long. Of the many shadows
that signal the soon-coming Rapture of the Church and the seven
years of tribulation, there is one event that is a surer sign
than all the others. Yes, there is an event that signals the
first day of the 7-yr. tribulation. The Bible says:
- "And he shall
confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst
of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to
cease....." (Daniel
9:27).
- He (a political leader) shall confirm
the covenant with many for the entire seven yrs. prior to the
Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ (Messiah). To learn more
about the identity of this man who is to confirm (guarantee)
Israel's covenant with many, let's go to Daniel 9:26. The Bible
says:
- "And after threescore
and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself:
and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the
city and the sanctuary......" (Daniel 9:26).

- HOW DOES THE YEAR 2011 STACK UP
FOR THE RAPTURE?

- Joel
2:31 "The
sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before
the great and the terrible day of the LORD come."
- What's important
to remember in this discussion is that "the day of the Lord" is
a thousand years which includes the Tribulation. 2 Peter 3:8 "But, beloved, be
not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the
Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."
- The reason I believe that Scripture
applies to the one day teaching in Revelation, is Revelation 18:8
"Therefore
shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine;
and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the
Lord God who judgeth her."
This describes a period of time in which these events occur during
the Tribulation.

- How Rare Are Lunar Eclipses?
- A total lunar eclipse is never
visible to the whole world - only the side that has the Moon
in their sky at the time. Moreover, during most years there are
no total lunar eclipses at all. After the event (lunar eclipse)
of December 11, 2011, there will be none at all during 2012 and
2013. But total eclipses of the Moon will happen in 2011 (3+
years later) 2014, 2015, (3+ years later) 2018, 2019, and 2021.
An interesting fact is that there are seven years between 2011
and 2018. The middle of the Tribulation would be 2014 - 2015)

- WHAT IS THE PRETRIBULATION RAPTURE?
The rapture is an event that will take place sometime in the
near future. Jesus will come in the air, catch up the Church
from the earth, and then return to heaven with the Church. The
Apostle Paul gave a clear description of the rapture event in
his letters to the Thessalonians and Corinthians.
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and
the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive
and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,
to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the
Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words." (1
Thess, 4:16-18).
- "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep,
but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of
an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the
dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal
[must] put on immortality" (1 Cor. 15:51-53).
- The timing of the rapture is not known. From the Word of
God and from sound reasoning--something Jesus used quite frequently--I

- IN THE VALLEY
Jerusalem Watchman - Today, September 13, 2011, will be a momentous
day. Today, representatives of 193 countries are coming together
on the east side of Manhattan for the opening of the 66th session
of the United Nations General Assembly. Of the 168 items on their
agenda, one towers above the rest, guaranteed to dominate the
15-day event: Item #36 – “The question of Palestine.”
- When that number comes up on September 20, the nations of
this world will secure their places in the Valley of Jehoshaphat.
For during the course of their deliberations, they will be called
upon to vote for, or against, recognizing a Palestinian state.
Recognizing a Palestinian state means voting for the creation
of an Arab state in the biblical heartland of the Land of Israel.
It means voting for the “permanent” division
of God’s land.
- “For behold, in those days and at that time, When
I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also
gather all nations, And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;
And I will enter into judgment with them there On account of
My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among
the nations; They have also divided up My land. …
- Proclaim this among the nations: “Prepare for war!
Wake up the mighty men, Let all the men of war draw near, Let
them come up. Beat your plowshares into swords And your pruning
hooks into spears; Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’”
Assemble and come, all you nations, And gather together all around.
Cause Your mighty ones to go down there, O LORD. “Let the
nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;
For there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations. Put
in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; For the
winepress is full,
The vats overflow — For their wickedness is great.”
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!
For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. The
sun and moon will grow dark, And the stars will diminish their
brightness.
The LORD also will roar from Zion, And utter His voice from Jerusalem;
The heavens and earth will shake;
But the LORD will be a shelter for His people, And the strength
of the children of Israel. (Joel 3: 1-2, 9-16)

- PALESTINIAN PROPOSED GIVING TEMPLE MOUNT TO THE POPE
The PA In Ramallah told the US it is willing to give the Old
City of Jerusalem to a proposed joint committee to administer
the Temple Mount. Wikileaks have done it again. Displayed double
standards, and the true motives of the “peace makers”
in the Middle East. The battle is not for justice and democracy.
The battle is for the control of Mount Zion, the very site of
the two Jewish temples in Jerusalem. The man who soon will sit
there will be worshiped as God, the Father Jesus addressed as
the “Holy Father“. But the man on the Temple Mount,
will be a fake, and a very powerful deceiver. Millions will worship
this man of lawlessness.

catch of “secret documents”.
- The documents also reveal that the Palestinian negotiators,
in an effort to move forward on the hyper-sensitive issue of
the holy sites in the Old City of Jerusalem, proposed a joint
committee to administer the Temple Mount. The offers were made
in 2008, in the wake of the Annapolis conference, and were privately
hailed by chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat as giving
Israel “the biggest Yerushalayim [the Hebrew name for Jerusalem]
in history.”

- VISION - "SKIMMING OFF THE DROSS"
by Raheli. - I had a vision a few years ago. I'd been going through
the mill for many years and was getting fed up with everything
going wrong, and I asked the Lord how much more was He going
to put me through, because I thought I'd been through enough.
I had a vision of a huge cauldron that was sat on a load of flaming
logs, and as I was telling the Lord that I'd had enough refining,
He chucked more logs on the fire and the flames went higher and
loads of black chunks kept floating to the top of the bubbling
cauldron. Then I saw a large ladle which kept skimming off the
black chunks that had floated to the top. Then I realized that
this is how gold or any other precious metal is made (I worked
in a steel mill at the time, so I knew what I was seeing). The
more heat you apply to metal, the more the impurities float to
the top and they have to be skimmed off, so that in the end you
are left with a pure metal. I believe this is what the Lord has
been doing with me for over 4 decades (which just goes to show
you how sinful the human heart is). My prayer for years has been
'Lord, burn up the dross' and He's been doing exactly that! It's

- WHAT’S INSIDE A MONARCH BUTTERFLY EGG?
- Friday Church News Notes, August 26, 2011 - Within this tiny
egg, only about an eighth of an inch long, is an entire world
of genetic information. It contains the instructions for the
construction of the caterpillar with the intelligence it needs
to operate all of its organs (eyes, antennae, legs, etc.), to
maneuver within its environment, to digest leaves, to avoid predators,
to know when and how to molt, to pupate, etc. It contains the
instructions for the incredibly complex process of the final
molting and formation of the pupa, including the amazing cremaster
mechanism. It contains the instructions for the death and dissolution
of the caterpillar into a biological soup and the reformation
of that soup into a beautiful butterfly. It contains the instructions
not only to construct the butterfly in all of its mind-boggling
complexity (e.g., its proboscis, its compound eyes, its intricately
shingled wings, its sensory organs, its reproductive organs)
but also the instructions to create the butterfly’s brain
and the intelligence needed to thrive within its environment,
to fly, to land, to avoid predators, to find the right plants
and flowers, to drink and digest nectar, to keep its cold-blooded
metabolism in balance, to reproduce. It contains the instructions
for a bewildering multi-thousand mile migration to a place it
has never been and in the absence of any earthly guide. It would
seem, in fact, that the genetic code within that tiny monarch
butterfly egg contains a map of a large part of the earth. And
it contains the information for constructing hundreds of copies

- WHERE THE HEALING WATERS FLOW
The Holy Bible Is A Divine Book Where Miracles Are Natural And
Healing Fills Every Chapter. The new theme I am claiming for
the Paw Creek church is “A CHURCH WHERE HEALING WATERS FLOW.”
The medical profession do all they can do in the limited world
of secular powers. The cost has become so over priced that even
their best is still out of reach for most of the world. The GLORIOUS
GOSPEL is the GOOD NEWS available to every living person. Listen
to Jesus Christ as He calls you to His Healing Waters. “In
the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried,
saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He
that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his
belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of
the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for
the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not
yet glorified.)” (John 7:37a-39) You may question the statement
that every Chapter in the Bible has healing powers but listen
to the Bible speak for itself.“He sent his word, and healed
them, and delivered them from their destructions.” (Psalms
107:20) The very reason I do not read Bibles that have been tampered
with is that human changes break the powers of God’s Divine
Hand. Make sure you read the Salty Saints this week on the lies
in Paraphrased “Bibles”. The Infallible Word Of God
in a Divine Revelation. An altered “Bible” is a humanly

TWO BISHOP EDDIE LONG ACCUSERS BREAK SILENCE

that he sexually coerced male congregants
(CNN) - Two young men who last fall sued Atlanta megachurch leader
Bishop Eddie Long for allegedly manipulating them into having
sex when they were teens are speaking out against the pastor
for the first time since settling with him out of court. On Wednesday,
Jamal Parris and Spencer LeGrande, now in their early 20s, gave
an exclusive interview to CNN Atlanta affiliate WSB, saying that
they are haunted by their experiences with Long and that they
are writing a tell-all book about what they say happened between
them and the powerful pastor.
- Last September, Parris, LeGrande and two other young men
filed suit alleging Long “uses monetary funds from the accounts
of New Birth and other corporate and non-profit corporate accounts
to entice the young men with cars, clothes, jewelry, and electronics.”
The accusations were particularly controversial because Long,
who is married, has preached passionately against homosexuality
for years.

career, former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger has had
many titles. Now he reportedly has one more - adviser to the
Pope. According to the Italian newspaper La Stampa, Pope Benedict
XVI has invited the 83-year-old former adviser to Richard Nixon
to be a political consultant, and Kissinger has accepted. Quoting
an "authoritative" diplomatic source at the Holy See,
the paper reported Nov. 4 that the Nobel laureate was asked at
a recent private audience with the Holy Father to form part of
a papal "advisory board" on foreign and political affairs.
- As the Register went to press, Kissinger's office was unable
to confirm or deny the report. La Stampa stood by its story,
although the Italian press is less rigorous in its authentication
of stories as is the United States Press.
- If true, there is speculation on which issues Kissinger would
advise the Holy Father. Relations with Islam, Palestine and Israel,
and Iraq - Kissinger has been critical of the conduct of the
war but opposes a quick withdrawal - are likely to be high up
on the agenda.
- It has also been speculated that, in view of the Muslim hostility
to Benedict's recent Regensburg speech, Kissinger might provide
advice on dealing with an increasingly fractious Islamic world.
Furthermore, like the Pope, Kissinger has analyzed the challenges
of globalization and might provide advice in this area as well.
"The idea [of his appointment] sounds like a good one,"
said veteran Vatican journalist Sandro Magister. "But so
would it also be to consult other experts on geopolitics with

 The emergence of Rick Perry and
Michele Bachmann as top presidential candidates is a story 30
years in the making

about Texas Gov. Rick Perry's relationship with followers of
a little-known neo-Pentecostal movement sparked a frenzied reaction
from many commentators: Dominionism! Spiritual warfare! Strange
prophecies!
- All the attention came in the weeks before and after "The
Response," Perry's highly publicized prayer rally modeled
on what organizers believe is the "solemn assembly"
described in Joel 2, in which "end-times warriors"
prepare the nation for God's judgment and, ultimately, Christ's
return. This "new" movement, the New Apostolic Reformation,
is one strand of neo-Pentecostalism that draws on the ideas of
dominionism and spiritual warfare. Its adherents display gifts
of the spirit, the religious expression of Pentecostal and charismatic
believers that includes speaking in tongues, prophecy, healing
and a belief in signs, wonders and miracles. These evangelists
also preach the "Seven Mountains" theory of dominionism:
that Christians need to take control of different sectors of
public life, such as government, the media and the law.
- The NAR is not new, but rather derivative of charismatic
movements that came before it. Its founder, C. Peter Wagner,
set out in the 1990s to create more churches, and more believers.
Wagner's movement involves new jargon, notably demanding that
believers take control of the "Seven Mountains" of
society (government, law, media and so forth), but that's no
different from other iterations of dominionism that call on Christians
to enter these fields so that they are controlled by Christians.

These weekends have been very beneficial for the wider church
and I usually circulate your notifications to my own group of
contacts. On this occasion I shall not do so and I feel it’s
incumbent upon me to make known the reason why. I do not represent
the view of my own church (Bridge Lane Christian Fellowship),
but I do speak for a significant number of the brethren; not
as their spokesman, but someone who expresses very much their
own heart on such matter. Your speaker this weekend is Dr. Arnold
Fructenbaum who is always an erudite and popular speaker, however
we know that Arnold and Ariel Ministries have membership, partnership
and ongoing liaisons with the Lausanne Movement; specifically
LCJE – the Lausanne Consultation for Jewish Evangelism.
We fully support the ethos of Jewish Evangelism and the core
aims and ethos of much of the Messianic Jewish Movement –
I wish to heavily stress that up front, to avoid misunderstandings.
What is painfully evident that many key Evangelical speakers
and not a few from among the Messianic Jewish brethren (Arnold
being one) occupy the Neo-Evangelical ground [i.e. broad inclusivism
towards Non-Evangelicals – namely theological liberals and
sacramental grace churches generally].
They may not stress this in their literature or online overtly,
but in practice there is a matrix of organisations (some actually
posing as Evangelical) that draw heavily for their membership
on other ‘so called Evangelical’ groups and individuals.
I have used the term matrix because these groups are a complex
interlinking in so many ways that it is difficult to keep track.
However there leading ethos came from liberal, ecumenical roots,
which makes it impossible for us to even consider any form of
fellowship or working-joint cooperation.
The Evangelical camp is riddled with compromise; the juggernaut
of liberalising ecumenism is everywhere – quite literally.
Most “Evangelicals” it seems have either capitulated
or turned away to avoid seeing acknowledging the problem, lest
they have to deal with it personally. This can be largely levelled
at Evangelical Christian leaders almost everywhere. We hope this
point will be noted and appropriate action taken.
There are those of us who will oppose these liberalising influences
when they invade our space and avoid them when they are without
our congregations. i.e. We don’t seek their company.
It is these ecumenical parachurch or denominational groups that
we strongly oppose; we seek a healthy working relationship with
all genuine Evangelicals and we hope our comments and prayers
will result in a restoration between us and Arnold once the matter
of Lausanne is no longer between us. The same goes for Tongham
– with whom we have derived great benefits from your ministry
and warm fellowship and wish this to continue. A general Pow
Wow should be forthcoming among the historical evangelical groups
– It will happen one day I hope before we all belong to
Lausanne , World Council of Churches, Evangelical Alliance, Churches
Together etc.

There is no one in strong concervative circles that I have talk
with that does not say, “YES”. Something is seriously
wrong in the American churches. The ministry as a whole has forsaken
what we would call, “Fundamental Truth.” Heaven is
barely a subject and the place of eternal judgment is off the
plate. Has God changed His standards? Can a person go to heaven
or miss Hell because they are religious or a member of the church
or must they be “Born Again?” Anyone that believes
that the Bible is infallible knows that heaven is not cheap.
Not one sin will enter the city of Heavenly Jerusalem and no
sin can be forgiven without true heartfelt repentance. Jesus
could not have said it plainer, “Enter ye in at the strait
gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth
to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:”
(Matthew 7:13) Listen to this TRUTH! “Strive to enter in
at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter
in, and shall not be able.” (Luke 13:24) If that’s
not enough go to Revelation. “He that is unjust, let him
be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still:
and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he
that is holy, let him be holy still.” (Revelation 22:11)
Maybe 10% of the church world is prepared to miss eternal Hell
and the Lake of Fire.The latest FALSE teahing that has become
bigtime is the idea that God has forgiven your future sins in
advance. This is the same false idea as the Catholic doctrine
of selling “Indulgences”. They offered forgivenes for
a future sin to raise money to fatten the church treasure. Now

by John Ecob is from The Herald of Hope, August 2011: “In
Psalm 29 David described a storm approaching from the sea. It
smashed the cedars of Lebanon in the north, and shook the wilderness
of Kedesh in the south. Seven times he mentions the ‘voice
of the Lord’ (vs. 3-9) and asks us to ‘give unto the
Lord the glory due unto his holy name’ (v. 2). In His Temple
‘doth every one speak of his glory’ (v. 9) and he reminds
us that the Lord is in control and “sitteth king for ever’
(v. 10). He ‘will bless his people with peace’ (v.
11). The pagan god, ‘mother nature,’ has nothing to
do with storms, which our Heavenly Father sends to show His power
and to get our attention. He also sends the storms of life. Have

- IS EVANGELISM ABOUT "GOING TO HEAVEN"?
It is very common for soul-winning programs to emphasize “going
to Heaven when you die.” The course entitled In the Highways
and Hedges, published by First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana,
takes this approach.
- This soul-winning plan instructs the evangelist to begin
by asking the individual, “If you were to die today, are
you 100 percent sure you would go to Heaven?” When the individual
replies, “No,” the soul-winner is instructed to give
a simple little Romans Road presentation (you can know that you
have eternal life, you are a sinner and under God’s condemnation,
Jesus died for your sin, salvation is a gift that you can receive
today).
- After the very brief presentation, the soul-winner is instructed
to say the following: “Now, John, if you will trust Jesus
to take you to Heaven when you die, just bow your head and close
your eyes with me right now. If you mean this with all your heart,
pray this prayer after me: ‘Dear Jesus, forgive me of my
sins. I trust You today. Jesus, and only You, to take me to Heaven
when I die. Thank You for saving me. Amen.’”
- It’s all about “going to Heaven when you die.”
There is absolutely nothing like this in Scripture. Never did
Jesus or the apostles and preachers in the early churches approach
someone and ask if they wanted to go to Heaven when they died.
Who doesn’t! But salvation is not a mere ticket to Heaven.
It is a saving, life-changing relationship with the living God
through Jesus Christ in the here and now. The “do you want
to go to Heaven when you die” approach was used by Jack
Hyles on May 3, 1998, when he claimed that more people were saved
then than on the day of Pentecost. Hyles preached a message titled
“A Place Called Heaven.” His text was John 14:1-6,
which, of course, is addressed to believers, not unbelievers.
After preaching on Heaven, he told the crowd, “If you have
the least desire to go to Heaven, if there’s just a little
bit of a desire to go to Heaven, then this morning, you trust
Jesus as your Saviour.”
- Heaven is a wonderful subject, but the gospel is not about
Heaven. The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of
Jesus Christ for our sin.
- “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which
I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein
ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what
I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered
unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ
died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was
buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the
scriptures” (1 Cor. 15:1-4).
- Heaven is definitely a product of salvation, but why is it
that none of the apostles preached on Heaven when they were presenting
the gospel? Why are the sermons recorded in the book of Acts
so different from the one Hyles preached?
- Consider the sermon Paul preached on Mars Hills to the idolatrous
pagans in Acts 17. Paul did not preach on Heaven; he preached
on God and His righteous judgment so that the idolaters would
understand their sin and turn to Christ for redemption. The average
person in North America today is very similar to those idolatrous
pagans, and North Americans need the same type of preaching.
An idolatrous and apostate people need sermons on Hell more than
sermons on Heaven. They need sermons on the law more than sermons
on grace, because biblical grace is only understood in the context
of the law. No one can understand and appreciate God’s grace
unless they first understand His holiness and justice. The law
was given to prepare the way for grace. “Wherefore the law
was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be
justified by faith” (Gal. 3:24). The book of Romans begins
with nearly three whole chapters of the law of God and the righteousness
of God and the sinfulness of man and his utter condemnation before
a holy God before it gets to the grace of Jesus Christ. That
is the biblical way to preach the gospel. That is the true Romans
Road. That is how Peter preached on the day of Pentecost.
- We need to follow the Bible rather than some man or a modern
soul-winning program. The emphasis of the Bible is on telling
people that God is holy and just and a judge of sin, that they
are lost and undone, and that God demands that they surrender
to His authority (repent) and receive Christ AND BECOME DISCIPLES
OF CHRIST IN THIS PRESENT WORLD rather than think they can get
some sort of cheap ticket to Heaven through a religious ritual
(e.g., saying a prayer). Not one person in the book of Acts received
the gospel as a mere ticket to Heaven and when his way unchanged.

life-changing sort in which the individual not only trusted Christ

that JFJ were apparently (I say apparently) more broadly an Ecumenical

- BECK'S BOGUS BELIEFS
- T. A. McMahon - Glenn Beck, the television and radio talk
show host who is best known for his conservative political views,
isn't someone whom we would normally address in our newsletter.
Our concerns are usually directed at individuals, programs, or
organizations that promote spiritual or theological views contrary
to the Word of God. Beck, of late, seems to be making himself
at home in that realm, and he's attracting many who call themselves
Bible-believing Christians.
- His influence among evangelicals is rather odd and may say
more about the state of evangelicalism than about Beck's engaging
personality. His popularity is proof that there is very little
discernment that's based on testing things by the Scriptures--a
consequence, in part, of the Church Growth Movement. Marketing
principles have become the rule and are being used to fill churches.
Biblical doctrines, which convict, have been set aside in favor
of psychotherapeutic sermonettes--something to keep the folks
feeling good about themselves and coming back for more. There's
no doubt that this trend has dumbed down much of the church and
has done away with discernment to a great extent.
- Anyone who proclaims the name of Jesus--even though his understanding
of who that is may be far removed from the biblical Jesus--is
nevertheless accepted as a brother in Christ. Conservativism,
political or otherwise, is seen to be the glue of spiritual fellowship,
and its characteristics have taken on scriptural status and a
basis for kinship. I've been told that "Beck must be a Christian
because he's all about turning our country back to its Christian
roots." That's erroneous on at least two counts.
- First of all, Glenn Beck is a member of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints. He may refer to himself as a Christian,
but he's certainly not a biblical Christian. The distinction
is as wide as hell is from heaven: "Whosoever transgresseth,
and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God"
(2 John:9). Mormon doctrine is "another gospel" that
exalts "another Jesus." Both false beliefs came out
of the deceived and deceiving mind of Joseph Smith. Secondly,
"our country" doesn't have "Christian roots,"
even though some are claiming that our founding fathers were
true Christians. Many were not biblical Christians but Christians
in name only, who followed the faith of Deism, Masonry, and the
philosophy of the Enlightenment. Any early influence in America's
history of a biblical nature very likely came from the Pilgrims

WRITERS SO CRITICAL OF RICK WARREN AND HIS NEW DANIEL PLAN?
- What difference does it make that Rick Warren turns to some
of the best secular doctors in the nation to help the church
with its battle over obesity, physical fitness, and mental health?
After all, Christians don't have to ensure that their cars are
repaired only by Christian mechanics, and their toilets unstopped
only by Christian plumbers. If you've got a problem with your
physical body, isn't it far more important to have the very best
doctor's advice, regardless of their religious background?
- RESPONSE: As long as one's mechanic or plumber isn't incorporating
unbiblical spiritual content in his service to a believer, his
religious background shouldn't be a problem. However, that is
not the case with the eminent doctors that Rick Warren has selected
to minister to his congregation and those hundreds of thousands
who follow his ministry. All three of the medical doctors are
practitioners of various forms of Eastern mystical meditation
and occultism, which they promote in their well-being programs
of body, mind, and spirit. No doubt their medical science education
gives them valuable insights into the workings of their patients'
bodies, but what of mind and spirit? The mind is not the brain;
it's part of man's nonphysical makeup. There is no objective
science of mind. There is only the metaphysical kind. There is
no objective science of the spirit. There are no scientific instruments
for evaluating a person's spirit. It's purely a subjective religious
matter.
- Furthermore, your question reflects the religious pragmatism
("whatever works") that leads many believers to abandon
biblical authority, compromise their faith, supplant the gospel,
and even endanger their very lives. The journey of departing
from the Truth may not begin with such stark choices, but often
ends with tragic spiritual consequences. "A little leaven
leaveneth the whole lump" (Gal 5:9).
- In reality, however, your question presents a textbook-perfect
"straw man" argument--defined as "creating the
illusion of having refuted a proposition by substituting it with
a superficially similar yet unequivalent proposition...without
ever having actually refuted the original position." In
this case, you are comparing the evaluation and repair of a physical
object, such as an automobile or toilet, to the diagnosis and
prescription for human beings, with regard to their physical
as well as mental and spiritual health. As followers of Christ,
we should indeed be convinced (and convicted) of our need to
care for our physical bodies, all the while recognizing that
they are temples of the Spirit of God (1 Cor 3:16). As Paul explained
to Timothy, "Bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness
is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that
now is, and of that which is to come" (1 Tm 4:8). Attempting
to care for our bodies in ways that are antithetical to God's

- Repentance vs. Constitutional Issues - Wednesday, September
14, 2011 - With the popularity of the Tea Party Movement, some
have asked why the LDS Church leadership isn't as vocal on government
corruption and Constitutional issues like President Ezra Taft
Benson or President J. Ruben Clark. With the 2012 presidential
elections approaching the LDS Leadership faithfully releases
the usual statements that the LDS Church does not endorse specific
political parties or candidates but keeps itself politically
neutral except when it comes to specific social issues like Protecting

'IT'] Taking the protestant principle to heart, we next turn
to the Bible — what kinds of heretical doctrine does it
discuss and forewarn us about? The Bible makes frequent reference
to false teachings and it is often within the context of refuting
heresy that its positive doctrinal material is cast.
- The Old Testament contains solemn warnings against anyone
who prophesies or proclaims teachings in the name of any god
but the LORD, Jehovah (Deut. 13:1-5; 18:20-22). This is the assumed
context in which the New Testament teaching about heresies is
framed.
- In the New Testament, there are warnings about false prophets
(Matt. 24:11, 24; 2 Pet. 2:1) — that is, those who make
predictions in the name of God and whose predictions turn out
to be false (cf. Deut. 18:22). There is also a warning about
false apostles (2 Cor. 11:13). There are warnings about those
claiming to be the Christ, or claiming that Christ has come,
or that the Day of the Lord has come, or that the resurrection
has occurred — when all these events will be so plain and
conspicuous that no one will miss them (Matt. 24:5, 23-27; 2
Thess. 2:1-2; 2 Tim. 2:16-18).
- There are also warnings about those who proclaim another
Jesus or a different gospel, or who introduce a spirit other
than God's Spirit (1 Cor. 15:3-5; 2 Cor. 11:4; Gal. 1:6-9). The
teaching that circumcision and keeping the Law are necessary
for salvation is condemned (Gal. 5:2-4; Phil. 3:2 ). On the other
side, teaching that liberty in Christ gives us excuse for licentiousness
is also condemned (Jude 4).
- The denial of Jesus Christ's coming in the flesh is regarded
as from the spirit of antichrist (1 John 4:1-6). There are warnings
about people who cause dissensions by teaching doctrine directly
opposed to what Christians already know to be true (Rom. 16:17;
Tit. 3:10-11). There are warnings about those who claim to love
God but do not love God's people (1 John 4:20; 5:1), and who
deliberately break away from the church on the basis of perverted
doctrine (1 John 2:19). Finally, there are warnings against adding
to or taking away from the words of prophetic Scripture (Rev.
22:18-19) or twisting the Scriptures (2 Pet. 3:16).
- Looking over these warnings from Scripture, we may classify
heresies into six major categories:
- Heresies about revelation — teachings that distort,
deny, or add to Scripture in a way that leads people to destruction;
false claims to apostolic or prophetic authority.
Heresies about God — teachings that promote false gods or
idolatrous distortions of the true God.
Heresies about Christ — denials of His unique Lordship,
His genuine humanity, His true identity.
Heresies about salvation — teaching legalism or licentiousness;
denying the gospel of Christ's death and resurrection; and so
forth.
Heresies about the church — deliberate attempts to lead
people away from the fellowship of true Christians; utter rejection
of the church.
Heresies about the future — false predictions for which
divine authority is claimed; claims that Christ's return has
taken place; and the like.
- Note that errors in any one of these six categories tend
to introduce errors into the other five. Take, for instance,
the heretical view held by many groups that the church became
totally apostate in the early centuries and thus had to be "restored"
in the last days. This doctrine implies (1) that Scripture is
not a sufficient revelation, but needs supplementing or "explaining"
by some authoritative teacher or publication. It also almost
always serves as a basis for rejecting the early church's views
of (2) God and (3) Christ. Since the Reformation is rejected
as falling short of the needed restoration, (4) the doctrine
of salvation by grace through faith is likewise rejected. And
the doctrine of a restoration comes to dominate the group's views
of (5) the future, as it requires them to view many or most biblical
prophecies about the future as finding fulfillment in their own
