- THE WEYRICH - SCIENTOLOGY CONNECTION

Church of Scientology is involved with Paul Weyrich and the Council
on National Policy. (CCHR) is a Scientology front which, in 1995,
proposed that parents sign a pledge to eliminate psychology in
the public schools. [So that they might substitute L. Ron Hubbard's
Dianetics!] The CCHR Pledge was heavily promoted by CNP organizations
such as the Family Research Council, Eagle Forum, Concerned Women,
etc. and Carolyn Steinke, who serves on the board of Scientology
front Citizens Commission for Human Rights (CCHR). Clay Bock,
a Scientologist of 20 years and education reform leader sponsored
a conference which featured Carol Steinke as keynote speaker.

- APOLOGY DEMANDED FROM NPR FOR LINKING FAMILY GROUP IN ANTHRAX
ATTACK
On January 22, National Public Radio’s (NPR) Morning Edition
aired a story on the Capitol Hill anthrax investigation, naming
the conservative Traditional Values Coalition (TVC) as a suspect,
according to a story on CNSNews.com.
On NPR’s Morning Edition program January 22, reporter David
Kestenbaum, according to an NPR transcript, said: "Two of
the anthrax letters were sent to Senators Tom Daschle and Patrick
Leahy, both Democrats. One group who had a gripe with Daschle
and Leahy is the Traditional Values Coalition, which, before
the attacks, had issued a press release criticizing the senators
for trying to remove the phrase ‘so help me God’ from
the oath."
According to CNSNews.com, Kestenbaum also reported, "The
Traditional Values Coalition, however, told me the FBI had not
contacted them and then issued a press release saying NPR was
in the pocket of the Democrats and trying to frame them. But
investigators are thinking along these lines. FBI agents won’t
discuss the case, but the people they have spoken with will."
"NPR is doing everything it can to make us look like the
Taliban," TVC executive director Andrea Lafferty told CNSNews.com.
"They can’t site a single fact other than our press
releases, and then they try to make this lame connection to the
anthrax mailings. Church people may be perceived as extremists
in the NPR newsroom but not in America. And NPR disconnected
with America long ago..
After the taxpayer-supported radio network was deluged with complaints
about the unjustified connection, NPR spokesman Jess Sarmiento
read a statement on the air acknowledging that their naming of

Now, Brent Bozell III, president of the Media Research Center
(which is affiliated with CNSNews.com), is joining TVC in demanding
a complete apology from the network.

end taxpayer subsidies to NPR, which has long been criticized

The Church of England has thrown its weight behind an extraordinary
proposal to unite Muslim, Jewish, Christian and Hindu children

- MINISTER SUSPENDED OVER 9/11 SERVICE
A minister with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod has been suspended
for participating in an interfaith service at Yankee Stadium
for the families of those killed in the Sept. 11 attacks. The
Rev. David Benke, president of the New York-based Atlantic District,
was also ordered to apologize for mixing Christian and non-Christian
views in violation of the denomination's constitution. "To
participate with pagans in an interfaith service and, additionally,
to give the impression that there might be more than one God,
is an extremely serious offense," wrote the Rev. Wallace
Schulz, the Missouri Synod official who suspended Benke. Benke,

vouchers are constitutional. This is a big financial windfall

- WILLOW CREEK
We should always be wary of churches that wish to use another
church as a ‘model’, because it usually means that
the pastor has no idea what to do. Why not? Because he has not
been called by God to pastor and, possibly, the local church
he has charge of is in sin or is badly taught. One of the ‘models’
used extensively by many ‘non-churches’ is Willow Creek,
a church in the USA whose senior pastor is Bill Hybels. The man
who taught him and supports him is the infamous ‘glass cathedral’
showman, Rev. Robert Schuller, and that indicates the spiritual
level of Hybels!
Willow Creek gets large numbers, because of the way it panders
to the unsaved. Hybels surveys the local people and he teaches
‘tolerance’ within allied ‘Seeker Sensitive’
churches. When you know that Schuller has a special section in
his ‘church’ for Muslims to worship as they wish, you
can tell what this ‘tolerance’ means. The strategy
of Hybels is to find out what the unsaved population wants from
a church. He says they want four things: 1. Anonymity, 2. Truth
given at an introductory level, 3. Time to ‘make a decision’
and 4. ‘Excellence of programming’ e.g. plenty of variety,
creativity, humour, contemporary worship, etc. What is the ‘truth’
given by Hybels. Well, it is charismatic, ecumenical and false!
(His methods are common to many churches today). The ‘time
to make a decision’ shows us that Hybels preaches an Arminian
gospel that is no gospel. The variety bit is not even worth commenting
on.
In his surveys, Hybels finds out what the unsaved want from a
religion. Then, he goes all-out to provide exactly what they
want. Even in my home town, Swansea, the local Willow-Creek clone
does the same thing, providing everything from unmarried mothers’
crèches to scout meetings and a place for you to have
table-sales. In return, the locals gave most of the money for
the church to be rebuilt. By promoting tolerance, Willow Creek
affiliate churches are ‘sterile’ (re. Plains Baptist
Challenger) and are a haven for homosexuals, atheists, pagans,
new-agers, communists, feminists, and all kinds of liberals.
They come in large numbers so that they can create their own
‘church’ after their own ideas and ideologies. A kind
of mix ‘n match religion.
These churches play music of the unsaved, give them what they
desire, listen without judgement and allow them to have a platform
for their own lifestyles and beliefs. (Christian Review Articles).
That, in a nutshell, is what Willow Creek is all about. It is
an unholy cult of many gods and many beliefs. It is not surprising
that huge numbers of charismatic churches use Willow Creek as
their model to draw-in the unsaved.
I would repeat, that a pastor called by God, and a saved local
church, will not need a ‘model’ based on another church,
because God will be with them, teaching what is to be done, via

The judge who rendered the controversial opinion for the U.S.
Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals - that "under God" in
the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional - will not have
the last word. A Justice Department official who does not wish

decided to authorize a rehearing before the full court, essentially

isn't just about the specific details, about tricky accounting,
stock options, loans to executives, and so on. It's about the
way the game has been rigged on behalf of insiders.
- And the Bush administration is full of such insiders. That's
why President Bush cannot get away with merely rhetorical opposition
to executive wrongdoers. To give the most extreme example (so
far), how can we take his moralizing seriously when Thomas White,
whose division of Enron generated $500 million in phony profits,
and who sold $12 million in stock just before the company collapsed,
is still secretary of the Army?
- Yet everything Mr. Bush has said and done lately shows that
he doesn't get it. Asked about the Aloha Petroleum deal at his
former company Harken Energy, in which big profits were recorded
on a sale that was paid for by the company itself, a transaction
that obviously had no meaning except as a way to inflate reported
earnings, he responded, "There was an honest difference
of opinion. . . sometimes things aren't exactly black-and-white
when it comes to accounting procedures."

turn out to be a Trojan Horse for all Christian and other private

- U.S. TO KEEP 2,400 NUKES IN RESERVE DESPITE TREATY
Secretary of State Colin Powell said Tuesday that even though
a new U.S.-Russia pact reduces the nuclear arsenals of both sides
to less than 2,200 warheads within ten years, the United States
plans to keep another 2,400 warheads on reserve. Critics of the
accord signed in Moscow on May 24 by President Bush and Russian
President Vladimir Putin have complained that it does not require
either side to destroy any weapons. Instead, an unlimited number
can be kept on reserve as long as active warheads are reduced
to a range between 1,700 and 2,200. Russia and the United States

- BUSH ANNOUNCES 'FINANCIAL CRIMES SWAT TEAM'
President Bush has called for stiff new penalties for corporate
criminals and a crackdown on boardroom scandals. He also announced
a new task force for the pursuit and prosecution of corporate
criminal activity. The task force will be headed by Deputy Attorney
General Larry Thompson and include investigators from the Department
of Justice and other agencies. Bush likened it to a "financial

- VITAMIN PILLS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY, SAYS STUDY
- Vitamin pills are "a waste of time" and do not
reduce the risk of heart disease or cancer, according to one
of the biggest studies into food supplements. A five-year study
involving more than 20,000 people found that a daily dose of
three vitamin supplements made no difference to heart disease,
cancer or mental decline. Prof Rory Collins, a co-author of the
report at Oxford University's Clinical Trial Service, said: "Over
five years we saw absolutely no effect. Vitamin pills are a waste
of time. "There was no evidence of any protective effect
against heart disease, cancer or any other outcome. They are

- NEW MACHINE TO 'ZAP' CANCER
A new machine which can "zap" cancerous growths is
being unveiled at an Oxford hospital. Clinical trials are beginning
into the new ultrasound treatment which may dramatically reduce
the need for surgery for breast cancer. The technique involves
targeting a high-intensity beam at the growth to kill it off
without damaging surrounding tissue. The High-Intensity Focused
Ultrasound (HIFU) unit - the first in the western world - is

REAL WORLD NEWS 07/05/2002 - U.S. businesses are reporting major
problems with China's failure to live up to promises it made
when it joined the World Trade Organization last year. American
companies say they are experiencing more difficulty in exporting
to China than before it joined the 144-nation WTO in December.
In particular, a dense web of Chinese regulations is inhibiting
deliveries of pork, beef, poultry and grains to a market of 1.2
billion people, and a heavy tax is hampering computer-chip producers.

The Bush administration has stripped Washington state's Chinook
Tribe of federal recognition, reversing a Clinton administration
decision and possibly setting up a federal court battle. Federal
recognition makes tribes eligible for federal benefits and programs.
The Chinooks were recognized until about 30 years ago and have
been fighting to regain that status since the early 1980s. The
Interior Department's assistant secretary of Indian affairs issued
a statement Friday saying the Chinooks had failed to demonstrate
three of the seven criteria required to become an acknowledged

Federal health officials are quietly making plans for quarantining
Americans who might be exposed to a highly contagious smallpox
patient, addressing sensitive questions of how to hold people,
possibly against their will, in case of a bioterror attack. The
planning, still in draft form, addresses complex logistical and
policy questions, including where people would be kept while
waiting for officials to confirm a smallpox case and, if necessary,
administer vaccinations. "It's not pretty to think through

- SOME STATES SAY NO THANKS TO RADIATION PILL
Fewer than half the states eligible for free pills that can protect
people from thyroid cancer after a nuclear disaster have taken
the federal government up on its offer. As the nation increases
stockpiles of medicines to protect against terrorist attacks,
a program that offers two free potassium iodide pills to an estimated
4.5 million people who live within 10 miles of a nuclear power
plant has created confusion. More than six months after the Nuclear
Regulatory Commission (NRC) announced the program, only 15 of
the 33 states that qualify have asked for the pills. Some states

C-Span June 7, 2002 - Georgetown University Law School. It was
pointed out that the Patriot Act attacks the role of judges and
literally writes them out of the proces. No judge will find no
probable cause that would justify incarceration. Immigration
judges work for the government allow monitored conversation in
other words the government listens in. There will be no judicial
review. It bypasses the usual procedures and the subject would
be tried in Cuba by a military commission who can give sentences
as bad as execution. There is no judge to say "no."
- The Patriot Act was given to Congress at 3.32 a.m. and only
few got a look at it before it was passed. Most did not read
it. People and their homes, cars, etc. can be searched without
probable cause. CIA will be spying on Americans.
- It is a fundamental reordering of Society. Openess of government
is changing to a secret government. Freedom of information act
is gone with the Patriot Act. Georgetown University Law professors

- TOM RIDGE ASSIGNED TO POSITION OF HOMELAND SECURITY ADVISER
June 10, 2002 C-Span Tom Ridge spoke to the National Association
of Broadcasters. He is assigned to the position of advisor of
Homeland Security to the President. Someone else will run the
new department. The Legislative Branch and the Executive Branch
will be moved together. There are 88 congressional committees
and 170,000 employees. The budget will be $35 billion. It will
be a new challenge and bring a lot of changes which will become
difficult to report and photo opportunities will be less available.

- SENATOR LEVIN TELLS THE NATION THAT NUCLEAR WEAPONS ARE ON
THE TABLE
Senator Carl Levin (D) Michigan is Chairman of the Senate Armed
Services Committee spoke to a press conference. He said the defense
bill passed 17 - 8 with a bi partison vote. Transforming Armed
Forces amendments still need to be done. The President wants
to spend the money on defense missiles to begin with a broad
research program with less than usual oversight. They wish to
build nuclear weapons which penetrate the earth. The Committee
expects to ask a lot of questions about why nuclear and who are
the targets.

- Senator Levin is not in favor of nuclear weapons because
it invigorates other nations to compete. When asked if there
was anything in the budget about environmental protections, he
stated that the subject did not fit into defense and there were
no debates. They left it off the agenda altogether. There two
issues that fit which had to do with non federal issues and bumper
zones around military installations to shield the public.

- Senator Levine and the head of the FBI both think that there
is possibility the attacks could have been prevented. Senator
Levine said that there were two documents prior to 9/11 that
should have been made public because it would have forced accountability.
One of them was the "Phoenix Document" and the other
Notes of Minneapolis Conversations. He said both documents were
forwarded to two groups, the FBI and the Osama Bin Laden fundamentalist
unit and the radical fundamentalist unit, both within the FBI.
The question is, what did they do with the information. He said
openess is most important and that seems to be gone. "Stability
is gone. Other states will seek weapons of mass destruction."
He said that Japan and China are getting nervous due to the abolishment
of the ABM Treaty and they want to follow suit.

- The Senator said that we are trying to stop a nuclear war
between India and Pakistan and should not be talking about building
new nuclear warheads. What was most important about this discussion
was the fact that Senator Levin complained about the new Russian
Treaty. He said that he was disapointed with the results that
the weapons were going to be stored instead of destroyed which
could cause theft or leakage. Really interesting was his followup
stating the following: "There is no reason why the Treaty
should not be ratified and probably will be," thereby going
against his own better judgment.

- IMPACT ON THE WTC DISLODGED FIRE HYDRANTS AND FIVE OUT OF
SIX STAIRWELLS WERE BLOCKED
A follow up hearing about the WTC on C-Span 2 by the American
Society of Engineers revealed that the impact did not bring the
towers down but the fire did. The impact dislodged the fire hydrants.
Five out of six stairwells were blocked and the people could
not get out. Only four people came down from the upper floors
down the 6th stairwell.
