of hosts.

them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not.

like to introduce ourselves. George and Rita Williams founded
this ministry. We were Mormons (Temple Mormons) for 20 years.
We prayed to God in 1992 to allow us to do a ministry speaking
out against Scientology. Six months later God led us to the truth:
out of the cult of Mormonism. We did not know at the time we
were in a cult. No-one had witnessed to us in 20 years.
- The Holy Spirit brought us to information about all the cults
and the present development of the New World Order. We began
bringing our research to you. Because all the research was already
done, we decided to build a library within Cephas Ministry. Our
newsletters are not designed to provoke
anger which is strictly prohibited in Scripture. It is to shed
light on activities by those who would deceive those who are
recorded in the Book of Life by devious methods and systematic
plans.

The focus of these newsletters is to prove why we had to leave
the world system. We are called 'Watchmen on the Wall' which
God always had during the Old / New Testament Times.

- The first section is about the church.
The news about churches is unedited unless indicated by Ednotes.
The church as we knew it, is undergoing disintegration. This
began on a fast track in the early nineteen sixties when the
Catholic Church produced liberal Vatican II to replace Vatican
I.
- The trend since then has been ecumenical which is truly what
the word 'Catholicism' means: a universal religion all
inclusive and multicultural. The Bible calls for a final church
and today's church doesn't resemble what Jesus taught. The Word
of God has undergone many changes to fit the progressive modes.
Many new Bible tranlations have brought confusion. The Bible
calls for a falling away from the truth before
Jesus comes back for His Bride. The true believers are called
'Ekklesia.' Our newsletters prove this fact and prove that the
Bible is true from beginning to end.
- The second section is about globalism
where we bring your attention to the social, political and global
trend, the so called democratizing what is left of the world.
This is a deception since the underlying new world global government
is developed by implementing sustainable development. The
Bible prophesies that there will be ten kings (ten horns), each
king (horn) will receive a region of the world as a reward for
work well done for the Antichrist. This is the reason for the
present development of NAU (The North American Union) as well
as the war in the Middle East. It again proves that we are moving
to closure of the times of the Gentiles prophesied in the Bible.
The end result will not be Democracy but a form of Fascist Communism
(Public/Private Corporations enslaving mankind).
- The third section compliments End Time
teachings because Israel is the time piece of the Biblical Prophecy.
1948 was the beginning of the figtree representing Israel, coming
back to life. Israel was allowed to return to its land. Israel
is the rock upon which the world stumbles and crumbles. We watch
and visit Israel for signs which point to the Tribulation to
confirm that we are moving into that space of time.

- CRYING OUT FOR JESUS TO RETURN
Can you imagine looking up and seeing Angels by the millions
lead by the Altogether Lovely One descending from above. The
Bible teaches us to anticipate, even “Hasting” to the
Day of the Lord. Christians are constantly encouraged to look
with joy to the time of Christ’s return. Peter stated, “Looking
for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the
heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall
melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise,
look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent
that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
(II Peter 3:12-14) This is the kind of Truth the Christian Church
of our day has no time to discover. If you love the world you
cannot love the coming of the Day of God. If you believe its
alright to live in known sin or to sin everyday and repent every
night over the same sins you cannot rejoice about Jesus coming.
The Bible says plainly, “Love not the world, neither the
things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the
love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world,
the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride
of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world
passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will
of God abideth for ever.” ( I John 2:!5-17) You cannot under
no circumstance, love the Coming of Jesus Christ and love this
filthy world at the same time. He’s coming for that person
or those persons that are looking (LONGING, YEARNING, EVEN CRYING
OUT) for Him to come. Can you imagine looking up and seeing Angels
by the millions lead by the Altogether Lovely One descending
from above. At the same moment you will begin to rise, As the
world recedes the city of Heavenly Jerusalem will appear in the
distance. Suddenly Jesus will appear to give you a personal welcome.

- SATAN LOVES FALSE ALARMS
May 25, 2011 - Harold Camping and his false prophecy has caused
Lucifer to dance with glee. This kind of fancy error is clearly
Satan’s design to make fun of the Rapture. The Post-Millenniumist,
Amillenniumist and the Mid- Tribulation and Post- Tribulation
crowd are laughing at the fun the Media has had at our expense.
We Pre-Tribulation Believers are scoffed at when these false
alarms about the Rapture are fed to the multitudes. The whole
purpose is to make truth look foolish.
- But there is another side to this story. The devil does not
waste his time fighting falsehood and false doctrines. This entire
attack is all another proof that the Rapture is on schedule and
will occur before the “Seven Years Of The Great Tribulation.”
When Satan induces his false prophets to attack truth in a false
show like Camping’s attention receiving Expose, he only
proves the wonderful truth being laughed against. Satan never
makes a false show of all the error doctrines being taught. They
do him no harm and he pays them no attention. Thank you Harold
Camping for your back-handed attention to the great “Catching
Away.”
- The anger of Satan against the Rapture of the saints is because
this event will be his final defeat. Calvary, the Resurrection,
and all the victory of Jesus’ death and life were certainly
Satan’s greatest defeat. It has been downhill for him since
he was cast out of Heaven. The Rapture will seal his doom forever.
From the time that he deceived Adam and Eve in the garden, he
has attacked the family of God. When Jesus descended into upper
Sheol, Satan lost his hold on the First Testament saints. He
could not damn them nor could they escape the prison house of
the righteous dead. Jesus took the keys of Death and Hell and
led this victorious company out of their prison into His resurrected
presence. Their spirit and soul are with Him in Heaven, but the
majority of them are still awaiting the Rapture and the Resurrection
to receive their glorified bodies. Matthew records that a firstfruits
number were resurrected and caught up when He arose from the

- “BORN AGAIN”, FLESH OF HIS FLESH
- Unless you have been “SUPERNATURALLY BORN AGAIN”
your eternal destiny is the “LAKE OF FIRE”. JESUS CHRIST
said, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be
born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. That which is born
of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is
spirit.” (John 3: 5-6) This is a mighty work of the Holy
Ghost. Born Again Christians have had a marvelous second birth,
This reveals how important our bodies are to the Lord and how
important the standard of Righteousness is in Holy Scripture.“…your
body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye
have of God, and ye are not your own” (I Corinthians 6:19b).
- That’s powerful, but in speaking to the Ephesians he
made another statement that is even more incredible, “For
we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones”
(Ephesians 5:30). Every born again believer is the temple of
the Holy Ghost; but, we are also “flesh of His flesh and
bone of His bone.” You cannot interpret the words to the
Ephesians Christians in any other fashion. Being members of His
flesh and bones means that we are His extension and representative

- How thrilling to read about the Son Of God shouting as He
approaches the Midair where we will meet Him. As I write I believe
Heaven is preparing for our arrival. Welcomimg indications will
be everywhere. I suggest a great Angelic choir is preparing to
sing the welcoming reframe. The Last Trumpet is the one hundreth
blast that concludes The Feast Of Trumpets. Its a Ram’s
Right Horn that calls to memory the Hand Of God that stopped
Abraham from sacrificing his son Isaac. Its was moving time for
this father, his son and their servants to return to the father’s
house. The “Feast Of Trumpets” was a great celebration
to the Jewish families and was the foreshadow of the next earth
shaking event, “The Saints Going Home”.
- The Rapture and the trumpet are beautifully related in the
prophetic truths of the Holy Scripture. From the moment that
Abraham saw the ram caught in a thicket by his horns on the mountain,
the right horn of that ram has signaled this hope of the future
Rapture. Every type that the Holy Spirit uses in the teaching
of God’s truth in the Bible always relates back to the moment
of first mention. If a type or symbol is removed out of context,
the message becomes marred. There are silver trumpets that relate
to worship and the temple, but the Shofar trumpet always seems
to relate to the calling of the people for movement. The ultimate
trip for His saints is into His presence for the celebration

buildings to be used for Muslim worship services. Fox News recently
reported that two Protestant churches are getting criticized
for opening their facilities to Muslims groups that are in need
of a place to conduct their services. Heartsong Church near Memphis,
for example, reportedly allowed members of the Memphis Islamic
Center to hold Ramadan prayers in its building last September,
and Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Alexandria, Virginia
currently allows the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) to
hold regular Friday prayers in its facility while their new mosque
is under construction. Alan Wisdom (IRD)Alan Wisdom, vice president
for research and programs and director of the Presbyterian Action
Committee at The Institute on Religion & Democracy (IRD),
does not think God's house should be used by those who do not
accept Jesus. "Worship is a sacred thing. We dedicate our

exoneration of the Jewish people for the death of Jesus Christ,
tackling one of the most controversial issues in Christianity
in a new book. In "Jesus of Nazareth-Part II" excerpts
released Wednesday, Benedict explains biblically and theologically
why there is no basis in Scripture for the argument that the
Jewish people as a whole were responsible for Jesus’ death.
- Interpretations to the contrary have been used for centuries
to justify the persecution of Jews.
- While the Catholic Church has for five decades taught that
Jews weren’t collectively responsible, Jewish scholars said
Wednesday the argument laid out by the German-born pontiff, who

- BOEHNER NAMES NEW HOUSE CHAPLAIN

John Boehner will nominate the Rev. Patrick J. Conroy to serve
as chaplain of the chamber. Conroy, who will be the 60th chaplain,
will succeed the Rev. Daniel Coughlin, who retired in April after
more than 11 years of service. “We are honored that Father
Conroy has agreed to serve as House chaplain,” the Ohio
Republican said. “His dedication to God’s work, commitment
to serving others and experience working with people of faith
from all traditions will make him an asset to the House community.”
- Conroy’s nomination, which was done in consultation
with Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, will be submitted to the full
House later this month. The California Democrat also praised
the Catholic priest in a statement. “The Capitol Hill community
will be blessed with the addition of Father Patrick Conroy to
our ranks as House chaplain,” she said.

Pope, Peter Hans Kolvenbach to cut a deal. Kolvenbach’s
proposals to the White Dragon Society had some merit. First he
offered to cash $1 trillion or so in Federal Reserve Board bonds
to finance the formation of a new US government headed by U.S.
Senator Ron Paul and former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura.
He also agreed to allow the mass arrests of junior Bilderberger
and CFR members so long as the top ranks remained immune.
- These proposals were rejected for a variety of reasons. One
was that it is the American people and not a self-described representative
of Satan, who should be choosing their leaders. The other is
that he asked for a 6-month delay which meant he was probably
just trying to buy time and did not intend to keep his promises.
Another is that he does not have any God given right to go around
creating $1 trillion out of thin air in order to manipulate society.
Also, Kolvenbach made veiled threats, including threats against
Japan and the White Dragon, as a matter of principle, never submits
to extortion. If him and his cabal did not have their magic dollar

they know something is coming." I neglected to ask him how
many days these would run, with the fuel they had on hand, but

1) COLOSSIANS 1:14: The KJB reads, "In whom we have redemption
THROUGH HIS BLOOD, even the forgiveness of sins:" The NIV
reads, "In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."
The NIV rips out the precious words "THROUGH HIS BLOOD"!
Friend, redemption is ONLY "THROUGH HIS BLOOD". Hebrews
9:22, reads, ". . . without shedding of BLOOD is no remission."
That old song says, "What can wash away my sins, NOTHING
BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS!"
2) THE NIV REMOVES AND PERVERTS THE PLACE OF HELL
The word "hell" occurs 31 times in the Old Testament
in the King James Bible. In the Old Testament of the NIV it occurs
- ZERO! The word "hell" is NOT in the Old Testament
of the NIV!
And what do they do with "hell"? Take PSALM 9:17 for
example: The King James reads, "The wicked shall be turned
into HELL. . ." The NIV, reads, "The wicked return
to the GRAVE. . ." We ALL "return to the GRAVE"!
By removing "hell" the NIV perverts Psalm 9:17 into
nonsense!
3) THE NIV PERVERTS THE THE VIRGIN BIRTH
LUKE 2:33: The King James Bible reads, "And JOSEPH and his
mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him."
The NIV reads, "The CHILD'S FATHER and mother marveled at
what was said about him." The "CHILD'S FATHER"?
Was Joseph Jesus's father? Not if you believe the virgin birth!
Not if you believe John 3:16, that Jesus Christ was the Son of
God! A subtil, "perversion" of the virgin birth. See

that negates what Christ represents is antichrist. It also goes

that indwells humanity and thus makes them antichrists. But to
all those who have put on the image of the New man :Jesus Christ
by accepting him into their hearts (Col 3:10) John had this to
say: "Greater is He who is in You (The Holy spirit) than
he that is in the world" (spirit of rebellion:antichrist).

a reputation for selling wholesome dolls; for many Christian
parents, American Girl has been an alternative to Barbie Dolls.
Once included in 'American Doll's' mission statement was the
goal to 'reinforce positive social and moral values.' 1 That
statement was found on their website in 2000. But American Girl
today is reinforcing and promoting New Age practices. American
Girl Publishing (a division of American Girl) released a book
in 2009 titled Spa Fun. On the back cover, it tells young readers
to try a yoga pose. Inside, the chapter called 'De-Stress' has
sections titled 'Balloon Breathes' (instructing readers to sit
cross-legged and practice deep breathing exercises), 'Mini Meditations'
(instructs to sit cross-legged and focus on your breathing),
and 'Mantras.' In 'Mantras,' it states: 'Add a mantra to your
meditation. A mantra is a sound or a word you repeat to help
you focus.' (p. 18).
The book also tells girls to practice 'Laughing yoga': ?Sit cross-legged
and take a deep breath. Exhale a few times with force saying
'Ha-ha-ha!' (p. 47). There is also a section called 'Morning

- PRAYER STATIONS, DARK CANCTUARIES, AND MULTI-SENSORY “WORSHIP”

experiences are an essential element of the emerging
church. While many are bewildered as to why their churches
are darkening their sanctuaries and setting up prayer
stations with candles, incense, and icons, promoters of the
emerging church movement say they know exactly what they are
doing. Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill Fellowship once explained:
- Everything in the service needs to preach–architecture,
lighting, songs, prayers, fellowship, the smell–it all preaches.
All five senses must be engaged to experience God.1
- Often, Christians who have been attending church all their
lives find the changes their pastors are implementing disconcerting,
as they see the trend away from Bible teaching to multi-sensory
stimulation. Dan Kimball quotes an older gentleman who had expressed
his concerns about the implementation of an emerging style of
mystical worship:
- Dan, why did you use incense? I am not sure I like walking
over to those prayer stations with all those props; can’t
we just pray from our seats? Why aren’t you just preaching
just the Bible? I wasn’t too comfortable when you had those
times of silence, and it’s a little too dark in there for
me.2
- The comment by this gentleman in his seventies is typical
of the comments I hear from many. But comments like this not
only come from the elderly; many younger people are saying the
same things. Both young and old are becoming concerned as they
see multi-sensory mystical worship replace the preaching and
teaching of the Word.

are on the right path based on their view that emerging generations
desire a multi-sensory worship experience. For example, in a

Judges rule promoting homosexuality mandatory for foster parents

has found that Christians who want to provide foster care for
needy children must promote homosexuality to them and that there
is only a "qualified" right to exercise their Christian
beliefs. The judgment comes in a claim by a Christian couple
that their biblical beliefs in opposition to homosexual behavior
were being used by the government to discriminate against them
regarding their application to be foster parents. The couple,
Eunice and Owen Johns, previously had provided foster care in
the United Kingdom and had applied to resume their work, but
suddenly became the target of government rejection because they
expressed their Christian beliefs regarding homosexuality. "Back
Fired," by William J. Federer, shows how the faith that
gave birth to tolerance is no longer tolerated! According to
the Christian Legal Centre, which also posted online the judges'
decision in the landmark High Court case, the judges refused

- On March 7, 2011, Roger Oakland, founder of Understand the
Times, International, and two other members from his ministry
attended the Peace in a Globalized Society forum at Saddleback
Church in Lake Forest, California, which featured Rick Warren
and special guest, former UK prime minister Tony Blair. Roger
Oakland and his co-workers obtained eye-witness seats at the
event that included well over 2000 people in attendance. Although
cameras and recorders were not allowed in the main sanctuary
where the interview took place, the UTT team took notes.
- What Oakland and his team heard caused them much concern
– thus the reason for this special report. Warren and Blair
spoke about Warren’s PEACE Plan and his “Three Legged
Stool Plan.” Tony Blair spoke about his inter-faith Faith
Foundation. Both speakers were noticeably excited about what
they were doing for the world. According to a 2010 UK Observer
report, “Tony Blair is preparing to launch a “faith
offensive” across the United States over the next year,
after building up relationships with a network of influential
religious leaders and faith organisations.” Blair’s
foundation is “develop[ing] a US arm that will pursue a
host of faith-based projects.” Given the fact that Warren
joined the advisory board of Blair’s foundation, it is safe
to assume Saddleback will be part of Blair’s US interfaith
arm.
- At the forum, both Warren and Blair stated that the only
way a global peace could happen on planet earth in the future
would be for all faiths to work together and do good together.
The audience at the forum appeared to be mesmerized and awe-struck
as they were wooed with discussion on faith, good works, democracy,
and coming together. Beneath the vernacular, however, was another
story.
- Blair and Warren also mentioned they have been partnering
with the President of Rwanda in an effort to develop a Purpose
Driven country as an initial step to establishing a Purpose Driven
world. In 2005, Rick Warren announced his global P.E.A.C.E. Plan
to his congregation and then in 2008 announced that Rwanda would
be the first Purpose Driven country. In 2003, he said of New
Age sympathizer Ken Blanchard that he had “signed on to
help with the Peace Plan, and he’s going to be helping train
us in leadership and in how to train others to be leaders all
around the world” (35-37 min mark).* Blanchard is just one
of many “new” spirituality leaders whom Warren has
turned to for assistance in building his Peace Plan globally.
While Blanchard’s name is not mentioned much publicly by
Rick Warren these days, Warren still sits on Blanchard’s
Board of Advisors with a number of New Agers at Blanchard’s
Lead Like Jesus organization. Blanchard has been promoting New
Age mystical teachers for many years and even today sits on the
Board of the New Age Hoffman Institute. In 2007, Blanchard wrote
the foreword to a book that was “inspired by Hindu swami
Paramahansa Yogananada. Will this Warren/Blair Peace Plan be
one that is driven by mysticism?

Glenn Beck was a pagan, New Age, universalistic Mormon, and indeed,
he now has revealed his hand," Howse says in the video,
which is based on a column he wrote earlier this year. "Beck's
book is nothing less than a promotion of universalism, postmodernism
and pagan spirituality, also known as the New Age movement."

- FROM THE GUTTERMOST TO THE UTTERMOST
- A “Born Again” experience is a total transformation
of the person. Christianity is not a profession but a possession.
Our church world is full of people that are religious but have
never been “Born Again.” It was the Son of God that
stated without question about being “Born Again.” “Jesus
answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born
of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom
of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which
is born of the Spirit is spirit” (John 3:5-6). Why are most
preachers simply asking people to “accept Him,” but
are not putting them on their knees to pray and repent until
there is a supernatural work of the Holy Ghost in their heart?
It is empty religion until you are a new creature in Christ.
This is why the church is full of people that call themselves,
“Saved Sinners.” They are still sinners and actually
think they are saved. Apostle Paul is the great example of what
being “Born Again” is all about. He was named Saul
of Tarsus and he was a wicked man. His last effort in wickedness
was the destroying of the church in Jerusalem. The Bible says,
“As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into
every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison”
(Acts 8:3). On his way to Damascus, he was fully prepared to
put men and women in bondage to be brought to trial and probably
death in Jerusalem. But, the Lord appeared on the turnpike to
this city in Syria and Saul saw the light. That’s what the

God's love but drifts dangerously into Universalism.
I'm usually quick to speak my mind. But in the case of Rob Bell's
controversial book Love Wins, I've withheld comment until now
because (1) I don't think Christians should judge books before
reading them; (2) the theological issues addressed require careful
analysis; and (3) I have many young friends who are fans of Bell's
books, and they may write me off if I don't treat him fairly.
- So I'll begin with a compliment. Bell is a masterful writer
whose prose is poetic. As pastor of the 7,000-member Mars Hill
Bible Church in Michigan, Bell has gained a following because
of his casual style, his ultra-cool Nooma videos and the previous
books he's released with Christian publisher Zondervan (especially
Velvet Elvis).
“Bell's core theme is that Christians have been too narrow
in their view of God and His mercy. He argues that God loves
people too much to banish them to hell. In the end, he says,
after this life is over, everybody will find ultimate reconciliation

- DOLLY PARTON AND LADY GAGA
- Friday Church News Notes, April 15, 2011, Way of Life - Country
music singer Dolly Parton says she wants to sing a duet with
the shock rocker Lady Gaga. Dolly said, "I love her. Maybe
we should so something together" ("Dolly Parton Wants
to Sing," MSN.com, April 14, 2011). Lady Gaga is a New Ager.
Her single, "Judas," is about "honoring your darkness
in order to bring yourself into the light" ("Lady GaGa
in Love with Judas," Christian Post, March 25, 2011). This
is New Age salvation through the power of Self. It is the New
Age doctrine that darkness and light are one. She says that "God
comes in many forms" and "you must worship your faith."
She dreams of a future where no one judges anything as right
or wrong and there is only tolerance and "love." Dolly
Parton's attraction to Lady Gaga is not surprising. Many consider
country music a safe alternative to rock, but it is anything
but morally or spiritually safe. Country music today is rock
& roll with a thin veneer of "Jesus" and a heavy
dose of New Age gobbledygook. Parton's 2008 album, Backwoods
Barbie, is typical in that it mixes a vaguely defined "Jesus"
with moral debauchery. There was a song about Jesus, but there
were also songs about drinking, carousing, breaking one's sacred
marital vows, and sleeping with someone outside of marriage,
all from a very "non-judgmental" perspective. Parton
dresses extremely immodestly and has played the madam in an R-rated
movie about a house of prostitution. She has covered Led Zeppelin's
occultic song "Stairway to Heaven" and John Lennon's
atheistic song "Imagine." She joined the Dixie Chicks,
Carole King, Yoko Ono, and others to record a benefit album in
support of the Human Rights Campaign, a homosexual rights organization.
Parton's "Jesus" is not the one revealed in Scripture.
She says, "God isn't the monster in the sky that I grew
up with [in the Church of God]. He's a feelin' within you"
(Parade, Nov. 2, 1980). For the stage production for her song
"Go to Hell," she used 12 dancers. She said, "We
do this with six dancers on the devil's side and six on the Lord's
side. At the end of the song, they all merge and we all go into
the light" ("Dolly's Flame Worthy Streak Continues,"
Country Music Television, April 21, 2004). This would appear
to depict the New Age-Hindu concept that everything is one, that
good is evil and evil is good, that everything is evolving and
merging. In spite of this, Dolly is popular with the Southern
Gospel crowd. The Southern Gospel Hall of Fame is located at
the Dollywood entertainment center and they host a 30-day Southern
Gospel Jubilee each year. This is another example of the worldliness
and unscriptural "judge not" philosophy that permeates
much of Southern Gospel today, a philosophy that is spreading

- BEWARE OF JOHN ELDREDGE AND RANSOMED HEART MINISTRIES
- Friday Church News Notes, April 15, 2011 Way of Life - John
Eldredge, the co-founder of Ransomed Heart ministries and author
of The Sacred Romance and Wild at Heart, is a dangerous spiritual
guide. He promotes psycho-babble, spending a lot of time talking
about "father wounds." One of his mentors is self-esteem
psychologist Larry Crabb, and he worked with Focus on the Family
for 10 years. He teaches that Jeremiah 17:9 doesn't apply to
a believer and he can therefore follow his heart, but Paul understood
that the old nature is still very much present in the Christian
life (e.g., Romans 7:18; Ephesians 4:22-24). The only way for
the believer to know the right way in life is to follow the Scriptures,
not his own deceptive heart. Eldredge teaches that if attending
church or reading the Bible becomes a burden, these practices
can be dropped. "You might even need to give up going to
church for a while or reading your Bible" (Eldredge, The
Journey of Desire). He claims that a year that he stopped attending
church was "one of the most refreshing years of my life."
This is open disobedience to the clear teaching of Scripture
(i.e., Acts 2:42; Hebrews 10:25). The facilitator's guide for
small-group leaders who use Eldredge's Wild at Heart videos urges
them not to allow any man to dominate the group and to beware
of "the doctrine cop" who is zealous about doctrinal

- WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PENTECOSTAL MOVEMENT?
- By Wayne Greulich. - A number of people have decried the
Pentecostal/ Charismatic movement as being the doorway through
which the current corruption has entered the modern church. There
is an element of truth in this, but it is not entirely accurate.
- I was born into a Pentecostal church 56 years ago, was raised
there, was educated in one of their colleges, and pastored 3
of their churches. I think this gives me a degree of knowledge
and familiarity with the movement and its history... I also had
the privilege of meeting with and conversing with some of the
Pentecostal pioneers while they were still alive. In addition,
I have owned a number of Frank Bartleman’s books for years.
This is not to put myself forward as an expert, but to let you
know that what I say next is not said from a vacuum of ignorance,
assumption, and speculation.
- The Pentecostal movement was born out of the holiness movement.
Many of those who were involved in its birth were people of holiness
who had died to self, had picked up their crosses and were following
Jesus Christ as He directed them by His Spirit and His Word.
The multitudes of transformed lives, the miracles, and the persecution
were very real. We can thank God for those pioneers who ­
under the move and hand of God ­ paved the way for a renewed
freedom and move of the Holy Spirit in Christ’s Church.
The problems which arose were not with the move of the Spirit
or with many of those who sought the Lord and came into the Baptism
and life of the Spirit. Mostly the problems arose ­ as they
do today ­ from those who wanted to avoid the cross. These
were people who wanted the blessings of life in the Spirit, but
who did not want to die to sin, flesh, and themselves.
- As early as 1907, Frank Bartleman wrote of his dismay over
these types of people who infiltrated the Pentecostal movement.
Many flocked to Pentecostal movements all over the continent
seeking the blessings of the spirit, but not wanting holiness,
confession of sin, brokenness before the Lord, and taking up
of the cross. We have the same root problem with us today. The
modern church is filled with selfish, sinful people who want
God’s blessings, but who do not want to go the way of the
cross.
- The problem has been further compounded by those false preachers,
prophets, and teachers who refuse to preach the cross and what
it costs to be a follower of Christ. Instead today’s “Christian”
heaps to himself preachers, teachers, and prophets who tickle
his flesh and make it feel comfortable ­ those who have become
experts at creating a brand of “christianity” which
seems to marry the flesh with the Spirit. This CANNOT be, however,
since the flesh and the Spirit are enemies against each other.
Scripture makes it clear that one must follow one or the other
­ God or mammon.
- It is the shame of many Pentecostal/ Charismatic churches
­ although, not all (... the mistake of generalizing) ­
have abandoned the preaching of the cross, holiness, separation
from the world, and the true full Gospel. Much of the modern
church has abandoned the Christ of the Bible in favour of a “new
and improved Christ” who has no cross, but only “love;”
who has no holiness, but only “grace;” who has no justice,
but only “blessings;” and who is not Judge, but merely
a cosmic Santa Claus.
- How we need those who will die to self, take up the cross,
and be witnesses of the true Christ! How God longs for those
who will live godly in Christ Jesus ­ in spite of the persecution!
How we need those who choose to reject the world, who hate sin,
who fear none but God; those who will do what He wants, speak
what He says, and be molded into the image of Christ by the Word
and the Spirit that Christ may have human representation of Himself
to a lost and dying world. This is the Church of Jesus Christ
- May God help us. Brothers and sisters, work while it is yet
day, for the night is coming when no man can work. Labour faithfully
with Him. Fear not what man thinks or what man can do unto you,
but fear Him who is your Redeemer and your King.

- BAPTIST MINISTER CALLS FOR FREEDOM TO BLESS SAME-SEX PARTNERSHIPS

that individual Baptist churches should have the freedom to carry
out same-sex partnership ceremonies if they decide it is right
to do so.
- Andrew Kleissner, a minister in Ipswich, has made the comments
following government plans to implement a change in the law that
allows religious elements in civil partnerships. The Baptist
Union of Great Britain (BUGB) does not currently allow ministers
to bless same-sex partnerships. But writing in this week's Baptist
Times, Kleissner suggested that the BUGB should allow its member
churches to make up their own minds on the issue.
- Andrew Kleissner is minister at Christ Church in Ipswich,
a joint United Reformed and Baptist Church.
- He made clear his own willingness to bless same-sex relationships,
as well as his respect for those who take a different view. But
he also argued for the change on the grounds of the traditional

to 59 churches and at least 28 homes in western Ethiopia in the
past five days, Christian leaders said. More than 4,000 Christians
in and around Asendabo, Jimma Zone have been displaced as a result
of attacks that began on Wednesday (March 2) after Muslims accused
a Christian of desecrating the Quran by tearing up a copy, sources
said. “The atrocity is still going on, and more people are
suffering,” said a source in Addis Ababa who is in close
contact with area church leaders. The Christian killed, believed
to have been a member of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, has not

MORMONISM - Christian* or Cult?#
Mormonism, known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day
Saints (with headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah -- a state
that is now 70% Mormon), was officially founded in 1830 by Joseph
Smith Jr. (1805-1844). Smith claimed to have had a personal visit
from God the Father at the age of 15, who introduced him to Christ.1
Jesus then supposedly told him not to join any church because
they were all wrong and all the Christian church's doctrines
"were an abomination" (Joseph Smith -- History 19,
Pearl of Great Price). After Smith's murder in 1844, Brigham
Young took the cult to Utah, where there is now a major University
named after him, and the number of Mormons exceed one million.
The Mormon Church currently claims about 11 million baptized
members worldwide (5.2 million U.S., ranking it 5th among the
largest 25 U.S. denominations), up from about 2.5 million in
1970. 1970. Over the last decade, nearly 300,000 individuals
over the age of eight have joined the Mormon Church every year.
Membership is expected to grow to over 23 million over the next
two decades. It is growing fastest in Latin America and Asia.
Official publications include Church News, a weekly 16-page newspaper,
and the Ensign, a monthly magazine.
- The Mormon Church collects at least $6 billion a year from
its members, and generates at least another $5 billion in sales
from its various business enterprises; total church assets exceed
$30 billion. (At least 100 companies are controlled by the Mormon
Church, and some estimate its total annual revenues in excess
of $20 billion! The church also owns 18 radio stations in the
U.S.) Part of the Church's income goes to operate an elaborate
internal welfare system so its members avoid any governmental
assistance. The Mormon Church also has a 58,000-plus missionary
force working in more than 160 nations in 102 languages. The
Church's Provo, Utah, 26-acre Missionary Training Center receives
500 new missionaries a week into its 3-9 week intensive missionary
training program. (All boys, once they turn 19, are expected
to dedicate two years of their lives to missionary service.)
Fielding missionaries is a $500 million per year effort and currently
reaps more than 300,000 new converts each year. Nevertheless,
only about 46% of Mormons attend a church meeting at least once
a month. (The clean-cut image that Mormons have attained has
been a major factor in the attractiveness of the Mormon Church
to outsiders. They are forbidden to drink coffee, tea, and alcoholic

- JOHN PIPER'S INTERVIEW WITH RICK WARREN
- Friday Church News Notes, June 3, 2011 - One of the clearest
evidences that "conservative evangelicals" are anything
but safe spiritual guides today is witnessed by John Piper's
close relationship with Rick Warren. Conservative evangelicals
like Piper are enablers of heresy by their refusal to deal with
error plainly enough and to cut off association with it decidedly,
and they therefore allow and even facilitate its spread. Piper
is held forth as a passionate Reformed Baptist who is zealous
for doctrinal truth, but his staunch theology has given him very
little spiritual discernment. In April of this year he conducted
a Desiring God conference at Rick Warren's Saddleback Church,
which was a massive personal recommendation for Warren's ministry
in the eyes of all beholders, and recently he had an interview
with Warren on doctrinal issues. Afterward he gave Warren a clean
bill of health and recommended his ministry, saying: "I
believe Rick's is a faithful heart. Listen to the clarity of
his doctrinal commitments and hear the heartbeat of his love
for Christ and those perishing without him" (DesiringGod.org,
May 27, 2011). This is an amazing statement. Rick Warren is a
clever man. He knows how to give the right answers in any context.
He can be a Baptist for the Baptists, a Calvinist for the Calvinists,
a Catholic for the Catholics. It was no accident that when he
spoke to the Jewish Sinai Temple in Los Angeles he didn't even
mention the name of Jesus ("Jesus Man Has a Plan,"
The Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles, June 23, 2006). Rick
Warren is an end-times chameleon, and for John Piper to miss
this is the plainest evidence, as far as I am concerned, of his
own spiritual blindness and compromise. Or it is a lack of proper
research. Piper based the interview on just one of Warren's books,
The Purpose Driven Life, but a man needs to be examined in the
light of his entire teaching and ministry rather than one book.
Piper's questions were softballs. The interview reminded me of
a CNN interview of Barack Obama or Bill Clinton. Piper spent
a lot of time bragging on Warren, even praising incredibly unscriptural
P.E.A.C.E. plan. Piper took a cheap pot shot at Warren's detractors,
pretending that they have slandered him by taking things out
of context. And Piper didn't challenge Warren's answers. For
example, he let him get away with saying that the gospel presentation
in The Purpose Driven Church is shallow only because he did not
have unbelievers in mind when he first wrote it as a seminar
for his church. What nonsense! This is as silly as Aaron's statement
that he threw some stuff into a fire and out came a golden calf!
Rick Warren knew exactly what he was doing when he published
The Purpose Driven Life as a book for mass distribution, and
he stated in it exactly what he wanted to state. The fact is
that the cheap gospel found in this book is the same gospel that
is published in Saddleback Church's incredibly shallow statement
of faith and in the documents used to receive new members. It
is a super simple "believe and receive" that does not
deal with sin or with the atonement in any significant way. It
is a "gospel" that would not offend the Pope or a Mormon.
Further, Piper let Warren give "explanations" that
plainly contradict what he has stated elsewhere on numerous occasions.
Piper should have said, "Rick, why are you a man of such
contradiction? Isn't it true that you speak with lack of clarity
and in contradictions because you are a chameleon?" This
strange interview reminds me of when Christianity Today examined
Robert Schuller in 1984 and determined that he "believes
all of the fundamental doctrines of traditional fundamentalism."

of girls. The marriage contract can take place anytime after
birth and can be consummated at age eight or nine. 7- A man has
the right to have up to four wives and none of them have a right
to divorce him--even if he is polygamous. 8- The testimony of
a woman in court is half the value of a man. 9- To prove rape,
a woman must have four male witnesses. 10- A Muslim woman must
cover every inch of her body, which is considered 'Awrah,' a
sexual organ. 11-It is obligatory for a Muslim to lie if the
purpose is obligatory. That means that for the sake of abiding
with Islam's commandments, such as jihad, a Muslim is obliged
to lie and should not have any feelings of guilt or shame associated

- OPRAH RETIRES FROM TELEVISION SHOW
- Friday Church News Notes, June 3, 2011 - Oprah Winfrey aired
her final television show on May 25 after a 25 year run, though
she will continue to operate her far-flung media empire. Few
people have been more influential in modern American society,
and the influence has been toward New Age spirituality. Decades
ago Oprah traded her Baptist faith for the New Age god of Self
and her "there's no God of judgment, just be happy and believe
in yourself" message has resonated deeply within modern
society, just as prophesied in Scripture (e.g., Psalm 2; 2 Timothy
3:1-6; 4:3-4; 2 Peter 3:1-8). USA Today's Faith & Reason
reporter Cathy Grossman writes: "Oprah, the prophetess of
post-Judeo-Christian America who brought us big hug spirituality--love
yourself, save yourself--leaves the daily stage today to run
her media empire. To whom will we turn? God? Not likely. Many
Americans no longer believe in a mighty judge who sets the rules
for life now and forever" ("Oprah's big hug of spirituality
will outlive her show," USAToday.com, May 25, 2011). Oprah's
god is the same god/goddess described in The Shack, and as we
have often documented, this god is resonating with evangelicals
nearly as much as the populace at large. No one knows the day
or the hour of Christ's coming, but only the spiritually blind
and unbelieving fail to see that He "standeth before the
