We were Mormons (Temple Mormons) for 20 years. We prayed to God in 1992 to allow us to do a ministry speaking out against Scientology. Six months later God led us to the truth: out of the cult of Mormonism. We did not know at the time we were in a cult. No-one had witnessed to us in 20 years. This began on a fast track in the early nineteen sixties when the Catholic Church produced liberal Vatican II to replace Vatican I. The trend since then has been ecumenical which is truly what the word 'Catholicism' means: a universal religion all inclusive and multicultural. The Bible calls for a final church which doesn't resemble what Jesus taught. The Word of God has undergone many changes to fit the present mode. The Bible calls for a falling away from the truth before Jesus comes back for His Bride, the true believers are called 'Ekklesia.' Our newsletters prove this fact and prove that the Bible is true from beginning to end. The second section is about globalism where we bring your attention to the social, political and global trend, so called democratizing what is left. One third of the world still remains to be taken over. It again proves that we are moving to closure of the times of the Gentiles prophesied in the Bible. The third section compliments End Time teachings with what is happening in Israel. We describe and watch for signs of the coming Tribulation to confirm that we are moving into that space of time. By Azali - Whoever talks to a Muslim soon recognizes that he considers our faith in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit as an unforgivable sin. The Islamic creed stresses that there can be no God except Allah! Anyone who associates a Son or a Holy Spirit with the Creator is considered to be an enemy of Allah and all his angels (Suras al-Baqara 2:97-98; al-Ma'ida 5:73). The rejection of the Holy Trinity by Islam The objection to the Holy Trinity by the Muslims has many facets. This will be summarized as background information for conversations with Muslims: Muhammad challenged the Christians, "Don't say three! That would be better for you!" (Sura al-Nisa' 4:171). "A mother of God cannot exist nor has she borne a son from Allah" (Sura al-Ma'ida 5:116). "Nobody should accept another human being as his Lord" (Sura Al 'Imran 3:64; al-Tawba 9:31). "Allah is not Christ" (Suras al-Ma'ida 5:17,72; al-Tawba 9:31). "For the Almighty it would be a trifle to destroy Christ and his mother, if they would claim to be gods" (Sura al-Ma'ida 5:17). The rejection of the divinity of Jesus Christ The confession that Jesus Christ is the Son of God is completely rejected 17 times in the Qur'an (Sura al-Tawba 9:30 et al.). 'Isa is called the son of Mary but never the Son of God. He is considered to be a creature like Adam (Sura Al 'Imran 3:59). Allah had commanded, "Be! so he was" (Suras al-Baqara 2:117; Al 'Imran 3:47,59; Maryam 19:35). There is a contradiction since Allah clearly states in the Qur'an: "We (Allah) blew some of our spirit into her (Mary)"; so 'Isa came to life in her (Suras al-Anbiya' 21:91; al-Tahrim 66:12). AFA POLL April 16, 2006 - The Kentucky Board of Education has voted to take the first step in redefining how America dates time. The board voted to include a new secular system of dating the calendar, BCE (Before Common Era) and CE (Common Era), and added it to the BC (Before Christ) and AD (Anno Domini, Latin for "in the year of our Lord") method. The new secular system of time dating will appear in the curriculum and other materials used by Kentucky educators. This new system is already being included in textbooks across the nation. The new method will replace the birth of Christ as the dividing point in history. For example, the new system would change 2006 AD (Anno Domini) to 2006 CE (Common Era). It also opens the door for the ACLU to find a liberal activist judge who will forcefully remove the use of BC and AD. The ACLU types will claim that the use of BC and AD are a violation of the First Amendment because it dates history based on the birth of Christ. Contemplative prayer and Psalm 62:1. - Supporters of contemplative prayer cite such Scriptures as 1 Kings 19:12, Psalm 46:10 and Psalm 62:1 to encourage the practice. Regarding the last mentioned verse, Richard Foster writes, "Contemplative Prayer is the one discipline that can free us from our addiction to words. Progress in intimacy with God means progress toward silence. 'For God alone my soul waits in silence,' declares the Psalmist (Ps. 62:1)."[1] But does David's description of waiting in silence qualify as a proof text for practicing listening prayer? Psalm 62 was written amidst a personal crisis--evil men were out to "murder" David (Ps. 62:3b). The situation in David's life that gave rise to this psalm is unknown. Absalom's rebellion and attempted overthrow of David may provide the historical background for the psalm's composition (2 Sam. 15:14; 17:1-4). But whatever the life situation, having exhausted his human defenses and resources in the crisis, David said two times, "My soul waits in silence for God only . . ." and again, "My soul, wait in silence for God only" (Ps. 62:1, 5, NASB). While verse 1 is a self-declaration, verse 5 is a self-admonition. David enjoins himself to wait silently for God. But as Richard Foster employs the statement to mean, does David's mention of "silence" indicate that he practiced silent or contemplative prayer? http://www.frbaptist.org/bin/view/Ptp/PtpTopic20060414133853 ----- SOUTHERN BAPTISTS AND PROMISE KEEPERS Church News Notes, April 28, 2006 by David Cloud - The close relationship between Promise Keepers and the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) is irrefutable evidence of the latter's deeply compromised New Evangelical philosophy. Promise Keepers is radically ecumenical, bringing Protestants, Baptists, Pentecostals, Charismatics, and Roman Catholics together into one big happy family that ignores doctrinal purity for the sake of unity. Promise Keepers is a bold statement against biblical separation and fundamentalism, and the Southern Baptist Convention is right in the middle of it. Southern Baptist churches have been among the chief supporters of Promise Keepers since its inception. For example, about 1,800 men from Adrian Rogers' church attended the Promise Keepers conference in Memphis in 1996. Ronnie Floyd, immediate past president of the Southern Baptist Pastors' Conference and immediate past chairman of the SBC's Executive Committee, was one of the principal speakers at the Promise Keepers rally in Washington D.C. in 1996. Many Southern Baptist congregations, such as First Baptist of Pelham, Alabama, have prominent links to Promise Keepers from their web sites and give enthusiastic support to this organization. In March of this year it was announced that Bob Reccord, the president of the SBC's North American Mission Board, will be the opening speaker at all 19 Promise Keepers events in 2006. Even though he resigned his job this month, Reccord remains "the liaison between the mission board and Promise Keepers" ("Baptist Missions Leader Quits," Ashville Citizen-Times, April 18). Also in March the Southern Baptist Convention and Promise Keepers announced a joint project called NOAH (New Orleans Area Hope) to rebuild houses and churches destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. There has been a lot of deception about Promise Keepers' ecumenism, but there can be no doubt that it is ecumenical by any definition. Roman Catholic priests have spoken at Promise Keepers events; Promise Keepers has conducted conferences at Roman Catholic universities; and a Roman Catholic has been on the Promise Keepers board of directors. The Vatican has had a sometimes tense relationship with the Jesuits. In a highly publicized incident, Pope John Paul II named a temporary replacement to lead the order after Rev. Pedro Arrupe suffered a crippling stroke in 1981, brushing aside Arrupe's choice for an interim leader in an unprecedented change-of-command. When asked whether he believes heaven will be "closed to Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus or secular people," Graham replied: "Those are decisions only the Lord will make. It would be foolish for me to speculate on who will be there and who won't ... I don't want to speculate about all that. I believe the love of God is absolute. He said he gave his Son for the whole world, and I think he loves everybody regardless of what label they have" ("Pilgrim's Progress," Newsweek). No one would disagree that God will make the decision about man's eternal destiny, but the fact is that He has already made that decision and has revealed it in the Scriptures. It is not speculation to believe the Bible. God does indeed love all sinners and Christ died to make it possible for them to be saved, but the other side of the coin is that only those who repent and trust Christ will be saved. Nothing is more plainly stated in Scripture. "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him" (John 3:26). "He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life" (1 John 5:12). "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned" (Mark 16:15-16). "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death" (Revelation 21:8). "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him" (Hebrews 2:3). "See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven" (Hebrews 12:25). The second chapter of Ephesians describes the condition of every individual apart from regenerating faith in Jesus Christ. They are "dead in trespasses and sins" (Eph. 2:1); they walk "according to the prince of the power of the air" (Eph. 2:2); they are "by nature the children of wrath" (Eph. 2:3); they have "no hope" and are "without God in the world" (Eph. 2:12). Without faith in Jesus Christ, there is no hope. That is the teaching of God's Word, and it is every evangelist's responsibility to warn the people to be saved before it is eternally too late. Answers in Genesis (Creation Ministry) had to raise a lot of money for the museum and we noticed they altered the letter A into a signal that there had been a change. ] Way of Life - Friday Church News Notes - David Cloud - The following is an excerpt from "A Question of Age," May 4, 2006, Institute for Creation Research: "Dr. Larry Vardiman of ICR and Dr. Jason Lisle of AiG [Answers in Genesis] shared opinions on and evidence for the age of the earth with Dr. Hugh Ross and Dr. Fazale Rana of Reasons to Believe on April 29, 2006 in Fullerton, California. The tone of the conference was cordial throughout the day, but it was obvious that the primary topic of discussion was to be the reliability of a literal interpretation of the Bible. Ross and Rana stated many times that they 'take the Bible seriously and consistently,' but they believe it should not be read literally. Vardiman charged Ross with approaching the Bible with a preconceived scientific model and trying to fit Scripture into this model. Ross denied this allegation, but the audience had numerous opportunities to observe this approach being applied in his explanations. One of the more disturbing misuses of Scripture by Reasons to Believe was their attempt to deny that the death of animals is a result of sin. Rana argued that animals are not really alive according to the Biblical definition of life. Therefore, there is no difficulty with the multitudes of fossils being formed over millions of years before man was created. Of course all the Biblical genealogies are also considered to be inaccurate. Ross also denied the global Flood described in Genesis and even claimed that a Creation account superior to Genesis 1:1-2:3 can be found in Psalm 104. It is a violation of conventionally accepted rules of hermeneutics to use poetic passages to interpret prior narrative passages. Lisle repeatedly appealed to Ross and Rana that God's Word should be read in the most straightforward, literal manner possible recognizing that there are poetic and allegorical passages which need special consideration. However, the response by Ross and Rana was one of profound disregard for such a simplistic belief in God's revelation. It was evident to many in the audience that the old-earth position, expounded by Ross and Rana, gives little regard to God's Word and is built primarily on the theories of man. IT SEEMS EVIDENT THAT ROSS AND RANA NOT ONLY DO NOT TAKE THE BIBLE LITERALLY BUT, ALTHOUGH THEY CLAIM TO DO SO, THEY ALSO DO NOT TAKE IT SERIOUSLY." Source: http://www.wayoflife.org ----- THE PRE-TRIBULATION RAPTURE By David Cloud - The word "rapture" does not appear in the Bible, but it is the term used by many Christians to describe the catching away of the saints described in 1 Th. 4:13-18. The term "caught up" in 1 Th. 4:17 is also translated "pluck" (Jn. 10:28), "take by force" (Acts 23:10), and "pulling [out of the fire]" (Jude 23). It refers to a forceful seizing and a snatching away. It is used of the devil snatching the word of God from the heart of the foolish (Mt. 13:19) and of the Spirit of God snatching away Philip after the conversion of the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8:39). This is exactly what Christ will do to the New Testament believers before the onslaught of the Great Tribulation. Notes on 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18: 1. The Rapture is (1) a resurrection of the dead in Christ (v. 14-16), (2) a catching up and translation of the living New Testament saints (v. 17). 2. The dead in Christ are with Him in heaven (v. 14). 3. The Rapture is the believer's hope (v. 13). It is what we are looking forward to. 4. The Rapture is certain. (a) It is as sure as Christ's resurrection (v. 14). (b) It is the word of the Lord (v. 15). 5. The Rapture is a comfort (v. 18). If this translation did not occur until the end of the torments of the Great Tribulation, it certainly would not produce solace for the Christian standing on this side of the Tribulation. 6. The Rapture is before the day of the Lord's wrath (5:1-5, 9). This event is also described in 1 Corinthians 15:51-58. 1. The Rapture is a mystery that was not revealed in the Old Testament (v. 51). The Old Testament prophets taught about the resurrection, but they did not teach that some would be caught up without dying. The new U.S. Embassy also seems as cloaked in secrecy as the ministate in Rome. "We can't talk about it. Security reasons," Roberta Rossi, a spokeswoman at the current embassy, said when asked for information about the project. A British tabloid even told readers the location was being kept secret — news that would surprise Baghdadis who for months have watched the forest of construction cranes at work across the winding Tigris, at the very center of their city and within easy mortar range of anti-U.S. forces in the capital, though fewer explode there these days. The embassy complex — 21 buildings on 104 acres, according to a U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee report — is taking shape on riverside parkland in the fortified "Green Zone," just east of al-Samoud, a former palace of Saddam Hussein's, and across the road from the building where the ex-dictator is now on trial. The state Senate voted today to ban employers or government from requiring anyone to be implanted with tracking microchips. The Senate also voted to strip from the bill a provision that would have allowed the state to implant the chips to track sex offenders in the future or parents to implant them in their children. The bill would ban anyone from requiring an individual to get a microchip implanted. Violators would face fines of up to ten-thousand dollars. The vote sends the bill back to the Assembly, which would have to approve the change before it could be sent to Governor Doyle. A Florida company has federal approval to implant microchips in people to carry medical information. Indeed, it's gigantic for all Iraqi's, for the entire world to see. A 100-acre compound - ten times the size of the typical U.S. embassy, the size of 80 football fields, six times larger than the UN, the size of Vatican City. The US Embassy Compound, in the middle of Baghdad - the center for US domination of the Middle East and its resources. The compound towers above the Tigris River like a modern fortress. It will have its own sources of power and water and sit in the heart of Baghdad. If there is any thought that the US is planning on leaving Iraq, the new embassy should make it clear "We're saying!" The growing skyline of the US embassy in Baghdad is only the most recent indication that the US has no intention of leaving. President Bush has already told us we're there until the end of his tenure. More important than words, building "permanent" military bases in Iraq re-enforces the message of the huge embassy. The DoD does not like to use the word "permanent" even for our bases in Germany and Korea. Euphemisms like "enduring bases" or "contingency operating bases" are used. They're less likely than "permanent" to cause further anti-American unrest in Iraq. Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt, deputy chief of operations for the coalition in Iraq, told the Chicago Tribune in March 2004: "This is a blueprint for how we could operate in the Middle East." Zoltan Grossman, a geographer at Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wash., told the Christian Science Monitor that since the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 the US has established a string of 35 new bases between Poland and Pakistan, not including the Iraqi bases. He maintains the US is establishing a "sphere of influence" in that region. The Monitor also reports that Joseph Gerson, author of The Sun Never Sets: Confronting the Network of Foreign US Military Bases, says the war and bases aim at maintaining US control over the Middle East with its massive oil resources. The plan entails construction of long-lasting facilities in Iraq. The bases will include barracks and offices built of concrete blocks, rather than metal trailers and tents. The buildings are designed to withstand direct mortar strikes. Initial funding was provided in the $82 billion supplemental appropriations bill approved by Congress in May 2005. Permanent Military Bases Planned for Iraq The Christian Science Monitor reported in April 2006, "the Pentagon would prefer to keep its bases in Iraq. It has already spent $1 billion or more on them, outfitting some with underground bunkers and other characteristics of long-term bases. Some US bases in Iraq are huge, e.g., Camp Anaconda, north of Baghdad, occupies 15 square miles, boasts two swimming pools, a gym, a miniature-golf course, and a first-run movie theater. The $67.6 billion emergency bill to cover Iraq and Afghanistan military costs includes $348 million for further base construction." According to Global Security Watch, on March 23, 2004 "it was reported that US engineers are focusing on constructing 14 enduring bases, long-term encampments for the thousands of American troops expected to serve in Iraq for at least two years. The US plans to operate from former Iraqi bases in Baghdad, Mosul, Taji, Balad, Kirkuk and in areas near Nasiriyah, near Tikrit, near Fallujah and between Irbil and Kirkuk... enhance airfields in Baghdad and Mosul..." Long-lasting military bases in Iraq will be an expensive budget item even if the US decides to reduce its forces to 50,000, less than half the current troop level. Future on-the-record votes for appropriations will show whether this was a symbolic election-year vote, or something the House is serious about. President George W Bush claims US only intends to stay "as long as necessary and not one day more." And, Secretary of State Donald Rumsfeld has testified on February 17, 2005 in Congress: "I can assure you that we have no intention at the present time of putting permanent bases in Iraq." These claims are hard to believe when Congress voted for the first funds for long-term bases that May, and construction is now underway. Among other possibilities, marine biologists were examining whether U.S. Navy sonar threw the animals off course. Villagers and fishermen were burying the remains of the roughly 400 bottlenose dolphins, which normally live in deep offshore waters but washed up Friday along a 2 1/2-mile stretch of coast in Tanzania's Indian Ocean archipelago. The animals may have been disturbed by some unknown factor, or poisoned, before they became stranded in shallow waters and died, said Narriman Jiddawi, a marine biologist at the Institute of Marine Science of the University of Dar es Salaam. Experts planned to examine the dolphins' heads to assess whether they had been affected by military sonar. Some scientists surmise that loud bursts of sonar, which can be heard for miles in the water, may disorient or scare marine mammals, causing them to surface too quickly and suffer the equivalent of what divers call the bends - when sudden decompression forms nitrogen bubbles in tissue. A U.S. Navy task force patrols the coast of East Africa as part of counterterrorism operations. A Navy official was not immediately available for comment, but the service rarely speaks about the location of submarines at sea. A preliminary examination of their dolphins' stomach contents failed to show the presence of squid beaks or other remains of animals hunted by dolphins. Or just a moment? The 37-year-old Honduran set off on foot from his home two months ago with $20 in his pocket. He said he begged for more money along the way as he and a friend, Abel Quintanilla Leyva, walked, hitched rides, and jumped trains to get this close to the border with the US. Twice, on the way through Guatemala to Mexico, different bandits tried to rob him and then beat him when they discovered he had no money. Now he and Mr. Leyva are working to raise enough money to pay one of the guides, known as "coyotes," to take them on the perilous journey through the Mexican and Arizona deserts to reach America. The coyote charge - about $1,600 per person for a 60-mile journey from here to the border - is likely to increase now that Mr. Bush has decided the National Guard should help bolster security along the US border with Mexico. But in the order of perils illegal immigrants face as they stream from here to the border, getting caught by US authorities is pretty mild. First of all, there's the alternative for most people who immigrate illegally, which is to stay home and nearly starve in appalling economic conditions. Faced with that alternative, the hundreds of thousands of people who immigrate illegally every year from Mexico and through Mexico from Central America, have paid up to an estimated $18,000 to get this far and across; others, like Martinez, have risked their lives. From here, the last leg to the US border and beyond, to places such as Phoenix, is a tortuous journey across the desert where the air temperature reaches more than 110 degrees F. and the sunbaked ground temperature reaches as high as 120 degrees... Intensifying border security on the US side has not stanched the flow. The Rev. Prisciliano Peraza Garcia, a Catholic priest who runs a shelter for immigrants here, says that when his shelter opened in 2000, the number of immigrants crossing from Altar to the US border was 1,200 a day. "Today," he said, "it is often hundreds more, despite all the reinforcements against them." In the process, the town of Altar has been transformed from a simple farming town, surrounded by cattle ranches, to an immigrant boomtown. The private homes that used to line the town square have been replaced with shops selling items needed for the journey across the border: backpacks, caps, water bottles, walking shoes - always in dark colors so they won't show in the dark. Business is thriving. Francisco Garcia, a former mayor of Altar who works with immigrants, seemed flabbergasted by the decision to send the National Guard to the border. "Mexico and the United States are not at war," Garcia said, "but it seems like an act of war to add a military presence on the border." Besides, he predicted, "the migrants are going to find a place to cross, maybe more dangerous, but they will find another way to get in.".. What would stop the illegal migration? A reversal in the trends that have devastated the economies of the countries whose people feel they have no alternative but to leave. We are spending a lot of energy and wealth to keep immigrants out of the US. If we and the governments of the countries they are coming from were to devote as much to improving their standard of living at home, they might not feel the need to come to America. • G. As Mr. Bush advocates now, Congress then combined citizenship for illegal migrants with greater enforcement. For lack of political will, however, enforcement barely happened. Will the nation again be promised a full solution to illegal immigration, only to end up with a halfway one - a reward of citizenship that attracts millions more illegals who will wait it out in the US until the next official leniency to grant a legal stay? Does the executive branch - and will lawmakers - have the political spine to follow through on enforcement and resist the twin pressures of business addicted to cheap illegal labor and Latino-Americans whose vote is up for grabs? These questions must be raised - not to dismiss America's immigrant identity, nor to suppress the human spirit that naturally seeks a better life. But rather, to show that the US has learned that it must secure its borders and enforce immigration rules at the workplace if it expects to progress as a nation based on law and equal opportunity. In his Oval Office address Monday night, the president gave enforcement the marquee billing. He announced the dispatch of 6,000 National Guard troops to the southern border. But the timing, politics, and temporary nature of this showy measure throw into question the depth of the White House's political will when it comes to enforcement. How is it that Bush is only now addressing the nation during prime time and taking such a personnel-intensive step about a problem that's been building for so long? Law enforcement and social services are overrun in the border states. And across the country, governments have been grap-pling with illegal-immigrant problems such as chaotic day-labor sites, crowded housing, and low-skilled citizens having to compete with millions of illegals for jobs. Politics, it seems, has a lot to do with the sudden conversion. Bush is at his lowest job approval rating. Polls show 60 percent of Americans disapprove of his handling of immigration. City residents in a recent Zogby poll believing that some people in our government knew of the 911 attack in advance and allowed it to happen, the President as right-wing evangelical prophet is under siege in his Madison Square Garden bunker. Convention watchers should take careful note of the theocratic nationalist rhetoric at the Republican convention this week. When was the last time a Western nation had a leader so obsessed with God and claiming God was on our side? If you answered Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany, you are correct. Nothing can be more misleading than to categorize Hitler as a Barbaric pagan or Godless totalitarian, like Stalin. Both Bush and Hitler believe that they were chosen by God to lead their nations. Hitler boldly proclaimed, before launching his doctrine of preventive war against all of Europe, that "I would like to thank Providence and the Almighty for choosing me of all people to be allowed to wage this battle for Germany." "I follow the path assigned to me by Providence with the instinctive sureness of a sleepwalker," Hitler said.
