which fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.

the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish
gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from
the hills. Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant
people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.
- And it shall come to pass at that time, that
I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that
are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD
will not do good, neither will he do evil. Therefore their goods
shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall
also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant
vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.

and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the
mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
- That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a
day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess,
a day of clouds and thick darkness, A day of the trumpet and
alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.
- And I will bring distress upon men, that they
shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the
LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their
flesh as the dung.
- Neither their silver nor
their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD'S wrath; but the whole
land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall
make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land."

this ministry. We were Mormons (Temple Mormons) for 20 years.
We prayed to God in 1992 to allow us to do a ministry speaking
out against Scientology. Six months later God led us to the truth:

were in a cult. No-one had witnessed to us in 20 years.

The church as we knew it, is undergoing disintegration. This
began on a fast track in the early nineteen sixties when the
Catholic Church produced liberal Vatican II to replace Vatican
I.
- The trend since then has been ecumenical which is truly what
the word 'Catholicism' means: a universal religion all
inclusive and multicultural. The Bible calls for a final church
and today's church doesn't resemble what Jesus taught. The Word
of God has undergone many changes to fit the progressive modes.
Many new Bible tranlations have brought confusion. The Bible
calls for a falling away from the truth before
Jesus comes back for His Bride. The true believers are called
'Ekklesia.' Our newsletters prove this fact and prove that the
Bible is true from beginning to end.
- The second section is about globalism
where we bring your attention to the social, political and global
trend, the so called democratizing what is left of the world.
This is a deception since the underlying new world global government
is developed by implementing sustainable development. The
Bible prophesies that there will be ten kings (ten horns), each
king (horn) will receive a region of the world as a reward for
work well done for the Antichrist. This is the reason for the
present development of NAU (The North American Union) as well
as the war in the Middle East. It again proves that we are moving
to closure of the times of the Gentiles prophesied in the Bible.
The end result will not be Democracy but a form of Fascist Communism
(Public/Private Corporations enslaving mankind).
- The third section compliments End Time
teachings because Israel is the time piece of the Biblical Prophecy.
1948 was the beginning of the figtree representing Israel, coming
back to life. Israel was allowed to return to its land. Israel
is the rock upon which the world stumbles and crumbles. We watch
and visit Israel for signs which point to the Tribulation to
confirm that we are moving into that space of time.

- PETRA BY GOD?
November 16th, 2010 | Author: Joe Diaz - One of the new seven
wonders of the world, Petra is incredibly fascinating - a place
like no other. Located in southern Jordan, near the western border
with Israel, Petra today is an empty city.
Though it's hard to reach, due to the rugged and almost impassable
mountains of western Jordan, still almost a million tourists
trek there each year from all over the world to see the jaw-dropping
scenery.
The following is a brief outline of the case for Petra as the
place to which the Jews will flee in the middle of the coming
seven year tribulation period.
The time period when we believe Petra will stand tall in fulfillment
of Bible prophecy is the last 3 1/2 years of the tribulation,
the length of days described in Daniel 12:11.
After the Rapture, the seven year tribulation will begin with
a peace treaty, orchestrated by a new world leader, between Israel
and ten nations in Europe and the Middle East (Dan 9:27). The
ten nations will include five nations from Europe, the western
leg of Daniel's image in Daniel 2, and five nations (toes) from
the eastern leg of the image. (10 toes in Dan 2:41, 10 Kings
in Rev 17:12)
Israel's promised peace, specifically agreed to be a seven year
period (Dan 9:24a), will come to a screeching halt after 3 1/2
years (Dan 9:24b). Jesus describes it as the the worst day in
the history of the Jews-past, present and future.
"...a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since
the beginning of the world until now, or ever shall." Matt
24:21
Therefore, the worst Jewish holocaust is still in the future!
Calling it a holocaust might be an understatement. The horror
of this one day is so bad it's actually hard to comprehend. Imagine,
if you can, a single day when 2/3rds of all Jews will die at
the hand of the double-crossing Antichrist! (Zech 13:8)
Backing up to the beginning of the Tribulation, in the wake of
the post-Rapture world crisis, a fast-rising and boastful world
leader promises peace to Israel (Rev 6:2, Dan 9:27, Dan 7:8).
This peace offer will include the right to rebuild their long
lost but beloved Temple (Rev 11:1,2), which would allow the Jews
to return to animal sacrifices for the first time in almost 2000
years. Israel accepts the ungodly peace offer, against the warnings
of the Torah, and ultimately pays dearly for it (Mat 24:21).
This takes place at a time when all the Jews in the world will
have been forced to squeeze back into Israel, which is not very
large, roughly the size of New Jersey. With 15 million Jews in
the world today, that's 10 million Jews murdered in one day-
certainly qualifying as the worst day in the history of the Jews!!
Also in the first half of the Tribulation, 144,000 Jewish evangelists
will proclaim the good news of Jesus' shed blood for sins (Rev
7:4; 14:6). Some Jews will listen, some won't, and millions will
die in one day.
But the focus of this article is not the 2/3s who die, but rather,
the 1/3 who escape, having heeded the warnings the 144,000 Jewish
evangelists pointing to God's Word.

JESUS IS COMING, 'UNAWARES'
The coming of Jesus Christ to Rapture His Saints 'UNAWARES' is
the Lord’s warning to His world. We must focus on the word
Unawares. Jesus Christ was burdened for His followers. The Lord
was carefully announcing what was going to come upon this whole
earth. It is very apparent that the multitudes do not want to
hear the bad news. You cannot see the spiraling of wickedness
and the arrogance of people that live worldly and unconcerned
and not know something is about to occur. The Lord emphasizes
that we can escape the sorrows and heartbreak if we will, 'Take
heed to ourselves.' His very words are overwhelming, "And
take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged
with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and
so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come
on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch
ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy
to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand
before the Son of man" (Luke 21:34-36). One very important
truth is that at the moment of His coming nothing can be done
to correct your life. You will be ready or you will be left.
There will be no time to repent, go get the oil of anointing,
or ask forgiveness. Remember the ten virgins, "Then shall
the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took
their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five
of them were wise, and five were foolish. And at midnight there
was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet
him. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they
that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door
was shut" (Matthews 25:1-2:6,10). My friends, get ready!!

- CONSIDER HIM
Heb.3:1 - Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly
calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession,
Christ Jesus;
The writer of Hebrews is, in this context, going to compare Jesus
with Moses whom the Hebrews held in high esteem. But later in
the chapter the Scriptures refer to Jesus as the Creator and
Moses the creation. Quite a difference. But in this first verse
we are exhorted to “consider” Jesus. That is a wonderful
discipleship verse. In my own mind I believe the greatest and
most comprehensive discipleship verse is “He must increase,
but I must decrease”, but consider Jesus is another good
one.
How would our lives change if in everything we did we considered
Jesus. Not just a wristband that says WWJD, but a lifestyle that
actually considered Jesus in everything and acted accordingly.
Take an imaginary trip with me.
We are heaven, the throne room and dwelling place of God. In
the very center is the Lamb who was slain, the Risen and Glorified
Christ. He is beyond words and His brilliance lights the entire
universe. His countenance is stunning and just one glance is
so overwhelming no one can stand in His presence. We bow down
and worship Him with exaltations that were unavailable to us
on earth. His voice, His eyes, His robe, and everything about
Him commands all attention, and the angels swirl around him saying,
"Holy, holy, holy, LORD God Almighty, which was, and is,

Posted by matthew archbold - Just this past weekend, shoppers
at the the Macy's in Philadelphia (the old Wanamaker building)
were surprised when over 600 choristers who were there mingling
with regular shoppers suddenly burst into Handel's Hallelujah
Chorus. It's pretty awesome.
The Opera Company of Philadelphia was instrumental in bringing
it together to perform one of the Knight Foundation's "1000
Random Acts of Culture" which they'll be doing over the
next three years across the country. Accompanied by the Wanamaker
Organ - the world's largest pipe organ - the singers burst into

- MONEY HAS A SPIRIT AND IT HAS
A NAME
Babylon, Columbia, Diana, Astartre, Circe, Artemis, Oestre, Lillith,
Liberty, Jezebel...it is typified as both feminine and as a prostitute...one
who or which promises but takes more than it gives...but blessed
is he who gives more than he takes.
If you love the world, then the love of the Father is not in
you. The love to which we respond, to which we submit, is that
which works in us - hence if the LOVE OF THE WORLD is in us,
then the love FOR the world will be in us. If the love of the
Father is TRULY in us, then we will not love or desire this world
or anything that is of it.

3. If, however, there is someone who teaches another sort of
knowledge and does not present the healing words of our Lord
Jesus Christ and the teachings of submission to God,
4. This one elevates himself while knowing nothing, except he
engages in vehement altercations and verbal controversies, from
which stem divisiveness and ruin, and blasphemies and the basis
of evil ideas,
5. And human subterfuge -- these [estranged priests] that subvert
[the people's] ideas and drive them away from the substantive
truth, and they assume that the submission to God is a business.
You, however, distance yourself from such priests.
6. For our business is great indeed, that which is the submission
to God to the extent of our ability (to the worthiness of our
capacity).
7. For we neither brought anything into the world, nor can we
even take out what we learned from it.
8. That is why all we worry about is food and clothing.
9. Those, however, who wish to be wealthy, will fall to temptation,
in pitfalls and into a multitude of foolish and searing lusts
that will sink humanity into the throes of destruction and ultimately
oblivion.
10. For the root of every evil is the consideration for money
above all else (consideration FOR money's compassion), and there
are people who absolutely adore money, and they lose all faith
and open themselves up to a multitude of demons.
Having regard for Money's compassion before all else is at the
root of the human condition, and when you have consideration
for the LOVE OF GOD, His MERCY and His COMPASSION above or before
all else, then you will be mature, entire, lacking nothing. Seek

- GOD USES PEOPLE TO PROCLAIM HIS
WORD
by David Wilkerson - December 3, 2010 - I think the majority
of Christians would like to escape to some safe, quiet hideaway
in the mountains to keep from being tainted by all the iniquity
surrounding them. Many despair, saying, "What can one Christian
do about all this moral degradation? What can one church do in
such a huge, wild and wicked city? It's enough for me just to
stay close to Jesus, so I don't get carried away with the flood."
Others think, "Is there really anything I can do - an insignificant
Christian like me? I have no money, no training, no influence
- only a great love for Jesus!"
We often expect God to move in one of two ways: By sending a
supernatural outpouring of his Holy Spirit to sweep multitudes
into his kingdom, or by sending judgment to bring people to their
knees.
But, beloved, that's not God's method of changing things in an
evil day. His way of rebuilding ruins has always been to use
ordinary men and women whom he has touched. And he does this
by filling them with his Holy Spirit and sending them into warfare

- In our last segment—within the confines of the “prophetic
sequence”—we reflected upon the 9/11 calamity –
only to catapult our discussion in discerning the antecedent
of the “he” in Daniel 9:27a: “Then he shall confirm
a covenant with many for one week.” In a calculated fashion,
the immediate passage prior to this enigma introduces a COMING
PRINCE whose people will—as the Roman legions did in 70
A.D.—destroy the city of Jerusalem and its temple/sanctuary
. . . yet, the PRINCE HIMSELF will abide his day of revelation
until “he shall confirm a covenant with the many for one
week.”
- Simultaneous with these foreboding events and immediately
following the destruction of the Jewish temple under Titus of
Rome—the dispersion of the Jews and their incessant desolations
will continue (as they assuredly have) until they seemingly terminate
at the conclusion “of the war” which we affirm to be
the Arab-Israeli Conflict and its final sevenfold phase: The
Oracle of Damascus (Isaiah 17 and Zechariah 9).

phase of the Arab-Israeli Conflict and the PRINCE WHO IS TO COME
who will “pick up the pieces” of the pending finality
of these endless wars, championing the cause of international
peace, pressuring both Israel and the immediate nations surrounding
her to “sign off” on his “comprehensive peace

Benedict heralds possibility of resignation if his health fails
Benedict XVI has said he could become the first Pope to voluntarily
resign in more than 700 years should he become physically or
mentally incapacitated.

interviews, the 83-year Pontiff challenged centuries of Catholic
Church tradition by saying that he would not hesitate to relinquish
his post if no longer felt "physically, psychologically
and spiritually" up to the job.
The papacy has traditionally been seen as a job for life, with
pontiffs expected to remain at the helm of the Church until death.
The last pontiff to resign willingly was Celestine V in 1294.
But in the book, "Light of the World: The Pope, the Church,
and the Sign of the Times", Benedict said: "Yes, if
a Pope clearly realizes that he is no longer physically, psychologically

THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND A MAN OF PEACE

any common sense and compassion want to see a planet without
poverty, disease, and illiteracy. I thank God for all the organizations
working to help the suffering, the sick, and the poor. Jesus
made it very clear that we are to care for and reach out to those
in need. However, working to bring about utopia on earth through
global and religious unity is futile. My saying this might make
some people angry, and they may accuse me of being fatalistic.
But nowhere in Scripture is the notion supported that there will
be a kingdom without tears, pain, poverty, and suffering until
Jesus Christ physically returns and establishes it Himself.
A question needs to be considered: Can those who don't know the
King establish the kingdom of God?
Rick Warren believes that God has shown him not only the boundaries
(or lack of them) of this coming global kingdom, but also the
strategy to bring it about. Before Warren came up with the plan,
he says he asked Jesus to show him how to reach the world. He
explains:
Then I said, "How did You do it? You wouldn't have left
us without a strategy." And I found the answer in a passage
in Matthew 10 and Luke 10 where Jesus sends His first followers
out... He says, "When you go into a village, you find the
man of peace." Find the man of peace. There's a man of peace
in every village, in every government, in every business, in
every church.1
Warren further inquired of Jesus to find out just who this man
of peace is. Here is the answer he got:
And so I said, "What is the man of peace?" He said,
"When you find the man of peace, if he's open and he's willing
to work with you, you bless him and you start your work there.
If the guy's not open to working with you, you dust the dust
off your shoes and you go to the next villages, 'cause you can

Saints has softened the language about gay Mormons. The book,

scheduled to be presented to thousands of Mormon leaders in a
giant televised training session Saturday (Nov. 13), will set
the tone for church interactions for years to come. The new handbook
makes a clear distinction between same-sex orientation and behavior.
It eliminates the suggestion, mentioned in a 2006 edition, that
same-sex relationships "distort loving relationships"
and that gays should repent of their "homosexual thoughts
or feelings." It also says that celibate gay Mormons who
are "worthy and qualified in every other way" should

decided last week to relabel as an Islamic mosque the tomb of
Rachel, one of Israel's matriarchs, and demanded that Israel
remove the site from its National Heritage list. UNESCO also
said Israel had no right to add the Tomb of the Patriarchs in
Hebron, where most of the rest of Israel's patriarchs and matriarchs
are buried, to the National Heritage list. Israel responded on
Wednesday by suspending all cooperation with UNESCO. Israeli
Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon said the suspension will
remain in place until UNESCO reverses its decision. In a statement
released last week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office
decried the ludicrous nature of the UNESCO decision: 'The attempt
to detach the Nation of Israel from its heritage is absurd. If
the nearly 4,000-year-old burial sites of the Patriarchs and
Matriarchs of the Jewish Nation - Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah,
Rebecca, Rachel and Leah - are not part of its culture and tradition,
then what is a national cultural site?' Sites such as the Tomb

Transportation Safety Agency has announced new security procedures
requiring passengers selected for secondary screening to go through
a machine that produces a full body scan producing a nude but
grainy, black and white image. Passengers choosing to opt out
of the scan will face a full body pat. The head of Homeland Security
has indicated the government is considering the request of an
Islamic organization that has suggested Muslim women be allowed
to pat themselves down during a full body search that is part
of new enhanced procedures at airports. ... The Council on American-Islamic
Relations, CAIR, has expressed concern with the TSA over the
regulations and recommended special procedures for dealing with
Muslim women. The organization issued a travel advisory for Muslims
over the procedure. ... It goes on to make special recommendations
for Muslim women wearing a hijab covering their face. The advisory
says women are to inform the officer they are only to pat down
the head and neck and says 'They should not subject you to a
full-body or partial body pat-down.' They also recommend that

PM EST - NEW YORK (AP) — A prominent televangelist appeared
before a worldwide television audience Tuesday to admit that
he had an affair with a woman years ago — and to allege
that three people had tried to extort millions of dollars from
him to stay quiet about his infidelity.
The Rev. Marcus Lamb, who created DayStar Television Network
with his wife Joni, said he and his wife had healed their marriage
and had hoped to keep his adultery private, but went public because
they would not pay extortionists. The three people demanded $7.5
million, he said.
"They're trying to take our pain and turn it to their gain,"
said Lamb, during a one-hour live broadcast with his wife by
his side and supporters surrounding him. "We're not going
to take God's money to keep from being humiliated."
A spokesman for the Lambs, Larry Ross, said they went to authorities
with their allegations, but he said he could not discuss specifics
for fear of interfering with any investigation. He said the extortion
attempt was made within the past few weeks.
DayStar, based in Dallas, airs some of the highest-profile evangelists
in the world, including Joel Osteen, T.D. Jakes, Benny Hinn,
Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar and Joyce Meyers.

using a model that even if successful will reach less than half
the population, said Alan Hirsch, an internationally recognized
missiologist and founding director of Forge Mission Training
Network. He spoke at “The Genius of And” conference,
hosted by Granger Community Church in Granger, Ind.
Most churches target the 40 percent of the population that’s
within the cultural distance of the church, he explained. Meanwhile,
attractional churches that have more of an external focus and
cultural relevance will, again, only work for 40 percent of the
American population. And after a few years of coming to Christ,
most people are socialized out of their context and into the
context of the church, which removes them from their sphere of
influence.

Henry Wright, pastor of Pleasant Valley Church, Thomaston, Georgia,
and head of a ministry called Be In Health, claims that all sickness
has a spiritual root. Such things such as aneurysms, strokes,
hemorrhoids, and varicose veins, for example, are supposedly
caused by fear and anxiety. He misuses both Scripture and medical
science to "prove" his points. His web site says, "We
are dedicated to the eradication and prevention of all spiritual,
psychological, and biological disease," and, "God's
perfect will is that you don't get sick." To the contrary,
the apostle Paul himself had a sickness that God refused to remove
(2 Cor. 12:7-10). The wise apostle concluded, "Therefore
I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities,
in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I
am weak, then am I strong" (2 Cor. 12:10). The word "infirmities"
is the Greek word "astheneia," which is elsewhere translated
"disease" (Acts 28:9) and "sickness" (Jn.
11:4). The faithful preacher Timothy was physically weak and
often sick, and Paul did not offer him a perfect health program
(1 Tim. 5:23). Paul had to leave his co-worker Trophimus behind
in Miletum because he was sick and God did not heal him (2 Tim.
4:20). One distraught wife wrote to Rick Miesel of Biblical Discernment
Ministries in November 2002 and explained how that her husband
had attended Wright's seminar and had come home "saying
that sin is a demon, cancer is bitterness, diseases mostly have
spiritual roots, anything less than 70 years on this planet is
a curse, etc." Wright said at the seminar, "Beware
when you get home because Satan will try and use the person closest
to you to make you doubt what we have taught you." There
was no warning at the seminar to test everything by God's Word,
to "prove all things" and to hold fast only to that
which is good (1 Thess. 5:21; Acts 17:21). To the contrary, the
man was taught to receive the teaching without criticism. When
his wife called him and asked if he was using biblical discernment,
he gave the very foolish and dangerous reply, "I will not

CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATIONS FALSELY LABELED ‘HATE’ GROUPS

pro-family organizations was just listed as a “hate”
group on a supposedly objective web site. It might be amusing
if it didn’t hurt the reputations of tireless and upstanding
Christian groups. The Southern Poverty Law Center is based in
Montgomery, Alabama, and originally was a watchdog for racist
groups, and I certainly appreciate this focus. But the group
also has a long history of radical left-wing activism, including
more recently, becoming defenders of “tolerance.” By
their priorities, though, we are to tolerate every religion except
Christianity. There is to be no criticism of law-breaking and
financially-draining illegal immigrants, because that’s
“racism.” And homosexuality and transgenderism are
to be considered worthy lifestyles. Those who oppose homosexuality
in the public arena are now automatically suspect.

VATICAN EXPERT: ISLAM TOP INTERFAITH PRIORITY

Salim Bustros of Newton, Mass., fueled a firestorm of criticism
in Israel and elsewhere when he said Jews cannot justify Israeli
occupation of Palestinian land because they are the chosen people.
"This promise was nullified by Christ,” said Bustros,
leader of the Greek-Melkite Catholic Church in the U.S. He spoke
at the special Catholic Synod of Bishops for the Middle East
in Rome. 'There is no longer a chosen people'"
Catholic-Jewish relations are still important, as the Bustros
controversy shows. But “Islam has supplanted Judaism as
the top priority” for the Catholic Church, said John Allen
Jr., Vatican correspondent for CNN.
Speaking recently at a forum sponsored by the Abrahamic Center
of Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Allen attributed this
shift primarily to changes in the church’s demographics
and the rise of radical Islam.
The Catholic population explosion in Asia, Africa and Latin America
means that today most Catholics are living in close proximity
with Muslims, not Jews. “Judaism does not have a significant
footprint in the global South,'Allen pointed out.
It was different 100 years ago, when there were 266 million Catholics,
with 200 million of them in Europe and Asia. Today, there are
1.2 billion Catholics in the world, with 720 million in what
Allen calls the Southern Hemisphere ' Africa, Asia and Latin

A Catholic hitherto has been, or now is, a member of a regular
lodge, need no longer consider himself as excommunicate and therefore
has no need of absolution.
A Catholic who has in the past abandoned his faith to become
a regular freemason is urged to seek reconciliation with his

Nowhere, seemingly, has it been stated that a Catholic who has
been, is or may become a regular freemason is required to reveal
in the confessional either his membership or what occurs in a

THE EVANGELICAL ESTABLISHMENT

Christianity was waging war for converts, certain questionable
practices were overlooked. But we're no longer the "kook
fringe." We ARE the establishment. The frenzy of wartime
mentality, characterized by wild claims of battle successes that
never were, must be replaced with reasonable, honest results.
And it's time to take thought for the wounded. For every truly
saved American, (the Holy Spirit lives in them) there are at
least 6 more that have said a "salvation prayer" and
think they're saved as the result.
Many of these gave up on God and are now the cynical, "I
tried that before" sinners that call people who go to church
hypocrites. These are the most vocal haters of true Christianity.
Their hatred is fueled by a dream that proved to be in their
case, only a nightmare.
Imagine believing that God would meet all your needs and then
having to suffer the pain of a baby dying, or any number of life's
realities. Imagine trusting that God would always be there for
you, and when Satan attacks, thinking God had abandoned you.
This is the world view of millions of "Jesus people"
that "got saved" in the last 40 years. Most of them
make up an angry mob that the Christian Right can't understand.
Their emotional instability is similar to that of an abused child.
In their minds, they trusted a Father, and He abandoned them.

WHAT IF PASTORS CAN'T TELL TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SINNERS
AND SAINTS?
Evangelicals, like most sub cultures, have unique customs that
appear unusual to the outsider. When examined closely, these
customs can be understood from a variety of perspectives. How
did the customs originate? How have the customs evolved into
their present form? What foundational meaning has been lost or
gained in the evolution process?
Many years ago, comedian Bob Newhart did a comedy routine illustrating
the absurdity of smoking tobacco. Newhart is supposed to be in
16th century England having a telephone conversation with Sir
Walter Raleigh in America. We can hear only the Newhart side
of the conversation as he asks Walt why he would voluntarily
put rolled up leaves in his mouth, set the leaves on fire, and
then breath in the smoke.
People outside of the Evangelical community look at the custom
of calling people forward in altar calls, and having them repeat
a formula 'salvation prayer,' and wonder what it’s all about.
They’ve seen weddings where the couple exchange vows….is
the salvation prayer like that, a vow to God? They’ve seen
sporting events where everyone stands and says the pledge of
allegiance to the American flag - is it like that, a pledge to
God? If so, then what are they pledging to God? Americans are
used to agreeing to things without examining the implications.
A pledge doesn’t mean what it did even a couple of generations
ago. (When I was a street evangelist in Southern California,
I could get nine of ten people to repeat a formula “salvation

BLINDED BY THE BRIGHT
Bill Bright's Campus Crusade For Christ is a multifaceted Christian
ministry. His "Four Spiritual Laws" tract has been
given to over 4 billion people and over 5 billion people have
viewed his "Jesus" film. The Billy Graham Evangelistic
association and numerous other church and Para-church organizations
have used his materials, making the theology of Bill Bright (from
the perspective of population influenced) the single most influential
presentation of the Gospel in history.
Unlike most great evangelists, Bill Bright enjoyed being a "happy
pagan." He didn't have the typical "struggles of faith"
experienced by people raised in Christian homes. His salvation
was preceded by just one year of earnest searching for truth.
Since he had no remorse for sin, the Law couldn't be his schoolmaster.
While most great men of God struggle with "repentance from
dead works", Bright searched for purpose and meaning in
life. Bright's salvation in 1945 was not so much an appeal for
a clean conscience,(1 Peter 3:21) as an awareness of God's will
for his life.
Bright elevated the Biblical principle of prosperity and peace
with God above the message of repentance from sin as the primary
motive for accepting Christ as savior. Without emphasizing Hell
and the just requirement of the Law, Bright convinced his audience
to accept the sacrifice of Jesus as the only way of receiving
the blessings of God. This ultimately resulted in the American
Evangelical Gospel being further stripped of the means to convict
of real sin. ( As opposed to legal standing, or forensic "sin".)

DECISION OR CHOSEN?
Despite much personal affection and a shared vision, Whitefield
and Wesley were never able to work together because of doctrinal
differences. We will never know what great things might have
happened if they had agreed with the message of this chapter...
Deeply religious people will see this book through doctrinal
glasses. If the writer were a respected member of their church,
he would be given the benefit of the doubt. But since he is an
unknown quantity, even innocuous statements could sound like
heresy.
For that reason, I ask you to read this chapter on the sovereignty
of God. If after reading it you still think it impossible to

I do not intend to spend any time at all proving to you the general
truth that God is sovereign in His world. There is no need; for

you pray; and the recognition of God's sovereignty is the basis
of your prayers. In prayer, you ask for things and give thanks
for things. Why? Because you recognize that God is the author
and source of all the good that you have had already, and all
the good that you hope for in the future.
This is the fundamental philosophy of Christian prayer. The prayer
of a Christian is not an attempt to force God's hand, but a humble
acknowledgment of helplessness and dependence. When we are on
our knees, we know that it is not we who control the world; it
is not in our power, therefore, to supply our needs by our own
independent efforts; every good thing that we desire for ourselves
and for others must be sought from God, and will come, if it
comes at all, as a gift from His hands. If this is true even
of our daily bread (and the Lord's Prayer teaches us that it
is), much more is it true of spiritual benefits. This is all
luminously clear to us when we are actually praying, whatever
we may be betrayed into saying in argument afterwards. In effect,
therefore, what we do every time we pray is to confess our own

for Christ were falling away from the faith. The following is

COMFORT: THE HORRIBLE TRUTH
Modern evangelism, with its methods, is creating something like
80 to 90 of what we commonly call backsliders for every hundred
decisions for Christ. Let me make it more real for you. In 1991,
in the first year of the decade of harvest, a major denomination
in the U.S. was able to obtain 294,000 decisions for Christ.
That is, in one year, this major denomination of 11,500 churches
was able to obtain 294,000 decisions for Christ. Unfortunately,
they could only find 14,000 in fellowship, which means they couldn’t
account for 280,000 of their decisions, and this is normal, modern
evangelical results, and something I discovered way back in the
late seventies; it greatly concerned me.
I began to study the book of Romans intently and, specifically,
the gospel proclamation of men like Spurgeon, Wesley, Moody,
Finney, Whitfield, Luther, and others that God used down through
the ages, and I found they used a principle which is almost entirely
neglected by modern evangelical methods. I began teaching that
principle; I was eventually invited to base our ministry in southern
California, the city of Bellflower, specifically to bring this

DOES MORALITY MATTER?
There's an old saying, " You can't legislate morality."
This cliché is considered by many to be a fundamental
truth. It's another way of saying, "you can't make someone
want to obey the law." So what? What difference does that
make? Only God knows the workings of man's heart…that's
His business. Public morality is what we are concerned with.
Our public morality is the culmination of 6,000 years of historic
and cultural standards. If our society punishes murderers, for
example, it's because of public morality. What difference does
it make if the murderer enjoyed the crime? Leave that to God.
But people who say, "You can't legislate morality"
are really saying, "don't stand in the way of change."
Does morality matter? Yes. Society pays the price when lives
are destroyed by sin. When 69% of black babies are born out of
wedlock, we pay the bill. 60% of black males end up in the penal
system - almost all these men grew up without a father figure.
Among American born Latino mothers, the illegitimate birth rate

BILLY SUNDAY: "NAME IT AND CLAIM IT SALVATION" EVANGELIST
Up until Billy Sunday, altar calls were invitations for seekers
to come to an after-meeting or inquiry room where counselors
would help people understand their heart condition. These ministers
worked in concert with the Holy Spirit to help seekers repent
and yield to God, and to pray that God would save them. Someone
was saved only when they were born again - when the Holy Spirit
came into them. Conversion and being born again meant the same
thing. If five to ten percent of the seekers were saved in an
inquiry room meeting, the ministers were ecstatic and gave glory
to God. Below is a scene from a typical inquiry room. D. L. Moody
is the man in the foreground. But Billy Sunday put an end to
all that. He eliminated after-meetings and the inquiry room.
His salvation was so "simple" that as his wife boasted,
"there was no more need for inquiry rooms."
His salvation was as easy to obtain as the healing and prosperity
of "name it and claim it" preachers today. If you wanted
to accept Jesus as Savior, all you needed to do was make a "demonstration
of faith," which Sunday said could be done by walking down
the sawdust trail and shaking his hand.

BILLBOARDS ANNOUNCE RETURN OF JESUS?

has marked his calendar. Family Radio founder Harold Camping
is predicting Jesus will come back for his followers on May 21,

Fort Wayne, Ind., and Bridgeport, Conn. The ministry is also
sending people around the world to proclaim Camping’s prediction,
The Tennessean reported. Camping predicts the rapture will happen
exactly 7,000 years from the date that God first warned people
about the flood. He bases his prediction on the flood happening
in 4990 B.C., on what he says would have been May 21 in the modern

suggesting "there's probably no God" is rolling out
a provocative new set of posters on buses across the country
that places Allah beside Bigfoot and Christ beside psychics.
The new posters bear the slogan: "Extraordinary Claims Require
Extraordinary Evidence" with "Allah, Bigfoot, UFOs,
Homeopathy, Zeus, Psychics, Christ" listed below. They will
hit Toronto streetcars in January, pending final approval from
the Toronto Transit Commission, said Justin Trottier, national
executive director of the Centre for Inquiry, an atheist organization.
After the Toronto debut, the organization plans to post the ads
to buses in Calgary, Vancouver, Ottawa, Saskatoon and Montreal.

A Florida state judge has determined that Islamic law, or Shariah,
will be used to determine the validity of an arbitration in a
dispute between factions in a mosque.
- The decision comes from Hillsborough Circuit Judge Richard
Nielsen. While it involves only an internal dispute at the Islamic
Education Center of Tampa, concerns are being raised about use
of any Islamic religious law in the United States. Find out what

Several bill already have developed around the nation, including
in Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee and Florida, to prevent judges
from applying Shariah, which includes penalties such as beheading
for leaving Islam, in the government's court systems.
- In Oklahoma, voters with a 70-percent majority approved such
a ban, but U.S. District Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange blocked it
after the Council on American-Islamic Relations argued the move
was "anti-Islam."
- The issue also has been the subject of a lawsuit in Michigan,
where city officials in Dearborn are accused of allowing Shariah
to be used to block Christians from discussing their faith at
the city-sponsored Arab Fest. Under Shariah, it is illegal for
a Muslim to convert to another faith. Time magazine also has
addressed concerns about the physical punishments included in
the Shariah code, such as cutting off of hands, noses and ears.

- NORTHWEST JESUITS IN $166 MILLION SEX ABUSE SETTLEMET

- PORTLAND, Oregon (Reuters) - The Pacific Northwest chapter
of the Roman Catholic Church's Jesuit order has agreed to pay
$166 million to settle more than 500 child sexual abuse claims
against priests in five states, attorneys said on Friday. The
payout by the Society of Jesus, Oregon Province -- part of an
agreement to resolve its two-year-old bankruptcy case -- marks
one of the biggest settlements to date in the church's sexual
abuse scandals.
- Lawyers for the victims said it also is the largest ever
by a Catholic religious order, such as the Jesuits.
- The Oregon Province is the Northwest chapter of the Rome-based
Jesuit order and covers Oregon, Washington state, Alaska, Idaho
and Montana.
- The victims, most of them Native Americans from remote Alaska
Native villages or Indian reservations in the Pacific Northwest,
were sexually or psychologically abused as children by Jesuit
missionaries in those states in the 1940s through the 1990s,
the plaintiffs' attorneys said.

biggest earthquakes in US history occurred along the New Madrid
Fault System in the early 19th century. There are some who see
a connection between the alleged Gulf of Mexico "oil volcano"

New Madrid fault. According to the US Geological Survey, there've
been a swarm of medium-sized quakes along the New Madrid Fault

of food in case of National Emergency. According to a DHS document
archived on February 18, 2011, they were procuring 14 million
meals per day, 7 million to be "utilized for the sustainment

480 calories)."

(AP) — Parts of America's radiation alert network have been
out of order during Japan's nuclear crisis, raising concerns
among some lawmakers about whether the system could safeguard
the country in a future disaster.
- Federal officials say the system of sensors has helped them
to validate the impact of nuclear fallout from the overheated
Fukushima reactor, and in turn alert local governments and the
public. They say no dangerous levels of radiation have reached
U.S. shores. In California, home to two seaside nuclear plants
located close to earthquake fault lines, federal authorities
said four of the 11 stationary monitors were offline for repairs
or maintenance last week. The Environmental Protection Agency
said the machines operate outdoors year-round and periodically
need maintenance, but did not fix them until a few days after
low levels of radiation began drifting toward the mainland U.S.
About 20 monitors out of 124 nationwide were out of service earlier
this week, including units in Harlingen, Tex. and Buffalo, N.Y.

Fukushima nuclear plant will cover most of the planet - Paul

assertion last week that radiation from Japan’s stricken
Fukushima nuclear plant would not even reach Hawaii, the mainland
United States has been blanketed with radioactive Xenon 133 particles,
while spent nuclear fuel pools at Fukushima have now reached
boiling point and threaten to spew out more radioactive smoke.
Although health authorities insist that levels of the radionuclide
Xenon 133 that have been measured are harmless, claims that such
radiation would dissolve over the Pacific have been proven completely
inaccurate. Indeed, the latest charts show that fallout from
Fukushima will not just smother the United States, but most of
the globe. The chart below from the Central Institute for Meteorology
and Geodynamics (ZAMG) shows the spread of Xenon 133 emitted
from the Fukushima plant. The following chart, from the Norwegian

of the radioactive release have been downplayed to the public.
Everyone who works with nuclear radiation pretends its safe,
when it’s not, and that includes just about every doctor
and dentist in the world..."
- ".... The principal elements that have been released
from reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi plant are iodine 131 and
cesium 137. Cesium is very dangerous because it is long-lived
and travels easily through the food chain, continuing to emit
particles for centuries once it is released. The media is programming
in tranquility and calmness while nuclear contamination spreads
and gets worse. The Japanese are a much disciplined people not
prone to panic but sometimes a measure of panic will drive people
to act instead of vegetating in indecision.
- A rise in radiation levels in faraway Tokyo’s tap water
spurred deepening fears about food and water safety. Radiation
in Tokyo’s tap water rose to twice the level acceptable
for infants 12 days after the nuclear accident and we can expect
contamination levels to get worse with each passing day. The
water in Tokyo already contains 210 becquerels of iodine-131
per liter making it unacceptably dangerous for children to drink.
Soon, if not already, it will be undrinkable for adults if present
trends of contamination continue, which they undoubtedly will.
It hardly pays to be either optimistic or pessimistic about this
one. The nuclear dice have been thrown and they are crashing
down most on the citizens of northern Japan.
- Many distant villages were contaminated with iodine-131 fallout
from the Chernobyl accident, and local cows ate grass that contained
the radiation. Children who drank milk from those cows ended
up with high rates of thyroid cancer. So it is not really a good
idea to be complacent no matter where you are on planet earth
today with a large nuclear power station running out of control.
- The New York Times published on the 24th, “Despite the
frequent rain in recent days, it was not entirely clear why the
levels of iodine were so high, said a senior Western nuclear
executive, noting that the prevailing breezes seemed to be pushing
radiation out to sea. “The contamination levels are well
beyond what you’d expect from what is in the public domain,”
said the executive, who insisted on anonymity and has broad contacts
in Japan. It was possible that the levels were an indirect indication
that the problems at the plant were deeper than had been publicly
acknowledged.” Hints don’t get any louder than this."
