- : MORE GREETINGS to all and the newcomers to this list. We'd
like to introduce ourselves. George and Rita Williams founded
this ministry. We were Mormons (Temple Mormons) for 20 years.
We prayed to God in 1992 to allow us to do a ministry speaking
out against Scientology. Six months later God led us to the truth:
out of the cult of Mormonism. We did not know at the time we
were in a cult. No-one had witnessed to us in 20 years. [George
passed away to heaven in March 2003 and Nicholas Stivers joined
the ministry as Vice President.]
- The Holy Spirit brought us to information about all the cults
and the present development of the New World Order. We began
bringing our research to you. Because all the research was already
done, we decided to build a library within Cephas Ministry. Our
newsletters are not designed to provoke
anger or resistance to evil which is strictly prohibited in Scripture.
It is to shed light on activities by those who would deceive
the elect by devious methods and systematic plans.

The news about churches is unedited unless indicated by Ednotes.
The church as we knew it, is undergoing disintegration. This
began on a fast track in the early nineteen sixties when the
Catholic Church produced liberal Vatican II to replace Vatican
I.
- The trend since then has been ecumenical which is truly what
the word 'Catholicism' means: a universal religion all
inclusive and multicultural. The Bible calls for a final church
which doesn't resemble what Jesus taught. The Word of God has
undergone many changes to fit the present mode. The Bible calls
for a falling away from the truth before Jesus
comes back for His Bride, the true believers are called 'Ekklesia.'
Our newsletters prove this fact and prove that the Bible is true
from beginning to end.
- The second section is about globalism
where we bring your attention to the social, political and global
trend, so called democratizing what is left. One third of the
world still remains to be taken over. It again proves that we
are moving to closure of the times of the Gentiles prophesied
in the Bible.
- The third section compliments End Time
teachings with what is happening in Israel. We describe and watch
for signs of the coming Tribulation to confirm that we are moving
into that space of time.
- Watchmen on the wall do not solicit memberships. We have
an email group that gets information when we upload new information
and a newsletter whenever it is possible time wise. We love the
Lord with all our hearts and minds and we love all people God
has created but especially those who love our Lord and Savior,

 TODAY'S Scripture Study: FOR SUCH
A TIME AS THIS
- Beloved Servant - belovedservant@verizon.net - The Lord is
showing us the times we are in, and as we look at Esther and
see that the King is a type of Yahweh God. Vashti is a type of
the church, the BRIDE of Christ that the Lord had called to himself
to radiate her beauty, which is really as in a mirror the Lord
Jesus Himself. But she has refused Him, she has refused to come
to Him and to radiate that beauty to the world, so that He is
revealed to the world, through her. She is showing rebellion,
that she wants to do her own thing, and the Lord will have a
bride without spot or wrinkle. The king chooses to get another
Bride because of the bad example Vashi presents to the world
and her influence on other women who will also become rebellious.
They gathered all the fair, beautiful to look upon, fresh new
vessels, virgins, that have not wedded themselves to the world
and the world system that have not been adulterous, with an eye
for other lovers.
So He has called for a new BRIDE, one that is obedient and that
has prepared herself, been cleansed 6 months by oil of myrrh,
which is also used for embalming, meaning that the self is dead,
myrrh is also a holy cleansing oil, a purification oil, and six
months with sweet odors for purifying. This represents the process
of dying to the old self and alive to God, to allow all the sin
to be washed away. to allow for the cleansing of those things
that are displeasing to the King.
Esther represents the Remnant Bride, this is she who has been
prepared and is obedient to the King, she is prepared in the
last days to be used to bring many into the kingdom, She is in
total submission to Yeshua, or Jesus Christ and He will use her
mightily.
- Esther is the Remnant because there are few that make it
in, for narrow is the way that leads to life, and few that be
that find it. He pleads with His bride to turn back to Him but
so few do. We are all able to enter into the inner court and
into the Holy of holies by the blood of the lamb, but so few
touch the scepter, meaning, they do not accept the Lord as Lord
over their life as their supreme ruler. He has reached
out but they have not touched the scepter, because they want
to live their own life in the imaginations of their own hearts.

- WAKING NIGHTMARE

 ".. Bush believes that it
was God's will, God's way to bestir His people and wake them
up from the complacency that had let sin and secularism run loose
in the land. That's the undeniable implication of his remarks
to those assembled "conservative journalists," –
and that's exactly how those True Believers will interpret those
words. And why not? It's been obvious from the beginning that
Bush believes the wholesale slaughter of almost 3,000 Americans
and other nationals on September 11 was an act of God –
what's more, an act of God performed specifically for him, so
that he could exploit the tragedy to re-make the world ..
- Even while the Twin Towers were still smoldering with the
toxic fumes that Bush's EPA ... downplayed ([the dangers of inhaling
the debris ] by rescuers ..), Bush [stated] ..."Through
my tears, I see opportunity." Bush has repeated this
line – almost certainly scripted for him by his speechwriters,
probably the ever-sanctimonious Michael Gerson (now a new columnist
for the Washington Post) – like a mantra for years. It was,
from the earliest post-attack days, his central understanding
of what had happened. Over and over, like a clanging bell –
or the hypnotic ticking of a metronome – he made the connection:
"9/11–Opportunity, 9/11–Opportunity, 9/11–Opportunity."
An opportunity for what? This too was made clear: war. Endless
war. Again, early on, Bush let drop a remark whose profound importance
went almost unnoticed, although it clearly signaled everything
that was to come afterward – and is still yet to come: "There's
no telling how many wars it will take to secure freedom in the
homeland." This statement was made at a fundraising
speech on Aug. 5, 2002.
- And now we know why Bush and his cronies need an uncountable
number of wars ("no telling how many"), because war
is the basis of their "unitary executive theory," which
holds that the President cannot be restricted by Congress, the
courts or any law whatsoever in his function as Commander-in-Chief
in wartime. This radical, perverted doctrine is the ... heart
of the entire Bushist enterprise. And, as we've noted here before
(drawing on the indefatigable labors of Glenn Greenwald), the
U.S. Senate is now poised to accept this doctrine as the new
basis of the American state. This week, as Greenwald reports,
they have moved even closer to this dread and draconian step.

- BUSH TELLS GROUP HE SEES 'A THIRD AWAKENING'
- Washington Post by Peter Baker - September 13, 2006 - President
Bush said yesterday that he senses a "Third Awakening"
of religious devotion in the United States that has coincided
with the nation's struggle with international terrorists, a war
that he depicted as "a confrontation between good and evil."
- Bush told a group of conservative journalists that he notices
more open expressions of faith among people he meets during his
travels, and he suggested that might signal a broader revival
similar to other religious movements in history. Bush noted that
some of Abraham Lincoln's strongest supporters were religious
people "who saw life in terms of good and evil" and
who believed that slavery was evil. Many of his own supporters,
he said, see the current conflict in similar terms.
- "A lot of people in America see this as a confrontation
between good and evil, including me," Bush said during a
1 1/2 -hour Oval Office conversation on cultural changes and
a battle with terrorists that he sees lasting decades. "There
was a stark change between the culture of the '50s and the '60s
-- boom -- and I think there's change happening here," he
added. "It seems to me that there's a Third Awakening."
- The First Great Awakening refers to a wave of Christian fervor
in the American colonies from about 1730 to 1760, while the Second
Great Awakening is generally believed to have occurred from 1800
to 1830.

- Speaking of the Vatican in Rome, Avro calls it a 'she' because
the Vatican is seen by many as 'the church' which is supposed
to be the Bride of Christ. "...she has more dollar assets

the end of the present century (20th), she will control at least

- To satisfy the desire to discover the present whereabouts
of the Cult of Aton, we need look no further than the
Vatican, in Rome. It is from Popes (White and Black) and from
their hired lieutenants that the insidious lies of history come...
If we have concocted history, faked biography, spurious gospel
accounts, rivaling factions (all professing uniqueness), massacred
nations, looted lands, immolated martyrs, condemned free-thinkers,
tortured rebels, and an indoctrinated mass of people unaware
of the sick theological lies they, and their forefathers, have
been ingesting, we should know, at least, from what vile spring
they emanate. We must endeavor to expose this corruption while
inquiring into its strange origins. We must also waste no time
arming ourselves with knowledge to fend off the insidious affects
of this inhuman leviathan which grows ever more powerful from
our ignorance and compliance. The story of the Roman Church is
quite different and not a pleasant one to dwell upon. She made
her advance through the medium of intrigue, war, fire and sword,
persecution, torture, confiscations, and death, the exemplification
of force and intolerance. By such means she gained control and
increase in power and the Irish Church missionaries were gradually
forced to withdraw from the continent. It was only by such forcible
means that she could make gains against the Irish Church whose
representatives surpassed hers in every field of peaceful endeavor...in

THE PERPLEXING PROBLEM OF POLYGAMY
It's more than you might think!
- If you’ve been listening to the news at all lately,
you no doubt are aware of the arrest of Warren Steed Jeffs, who
is the leader and “prophet” of the Fundamentalist Latter-day
Saint Church (or FLDS), which is the largest of many Mormon fundamentalist
(polygamous) sects. Many of those sects, like the FLDS, are characterized
by isolationism, authoritarian rule, and abuse, particularly
against women and children.
- While not all fundamentalist groups share the FLDS’
violent and oppressive characteristics, it is estimated that
there are anywhere from 40,000 to 100,000 people in North America
who adhere to the principles of Mormon fundamentalism. The thing
that unites all of these various different forms of Mormon fundamentalism
is an unwavering belief in the historical doctrines and teachings
of Mormonism as delivered by Joseph Smith and Brigham Young.
Chief among these doctrines is the belief that the practice of
polygamy, or “plural marriage,” is essential to exaltation
to godhood. When you look at the doctrines and the writings of
the early LDS leaders and prophets, there is no getting around
that fact. According to Mormon doctrine, if you want to ascend
to godhood, you need to practice plural marriage. Period.
- Nevertheless, the mainstream LDS Church, which continues
to uphold Joseph Smith and Brigham Young as beloved prophets,
now prohibits the practice of polygamy among its membership.
In 1890, under pressure from the US Federal Government, they
officially banned the practice. Today the LDS Church excommunicates
anyone who is found practicing polygamy. Ironically, this would
make Joseph Smith and Brigham Young ineligible for membership
in the church they founded.
- Another irony is the fact that while the LDS Church have
denied the practice of polygamy, they have not denied the doctrine
of polygamy. They have downplayed it, and they have hidden it--in
many cases, from their own membership. Today when the LDS Church
addresses the topic of polygamy, it is treated as a short-lived
practice by a relative few select people, and it is often touted
as a social welfare practice—a means of providing for the
needs of unmarried women and widows. This is in stark contrast
to the way the subject was originally taught by the early Church
leaders. In the early days, people who rejected the doctrine
of polygamy were excommunicated--just the opposite of what is
happening today.
- Living Hope’s interest in the subject of polygamy actually
has two facets. One is its relevance to the project we are currently
working on. Polygamy creates a very consistent thread throughout
Mormon history. It presumably began because Joseph Smith couldn’t
keep his hands off of women; it continued as a central doctrine
of exaltation; leaders of the early church were either established
or excommunicated based on their acceptance or rejection of polygamy;
movements broke off (and continue to break off) because of it;
it continues to be a sore subject within the mainstream LDS Church,
and remains a very disturbing problem in the Intermountain West,
and beyond, to this day. No other topic within Mormonism has
been the subject of so much deception, lies, and subterfuge as
polygamy. It could be argued that Warren Jeffs’ lifestyle,
doctrines, and beliefs are far more consistent with those of
Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, than are those of the current
LDS leadership. That is to say...if you want to see what Joseph
Smith would look like today, you needn't look any further than
Warren Jeffs.
- The other facet of our interest in the subject of polygamy
is one of compassion for the people—men, women, and children—who
are trapped in Mormon fundamentalism. In particular, the women
in the more oppressive sects like the FLDS have virtually no
rights about any aspect of their lives; women and young children
are traded and treated as chattel. They are by and large uneducated
and as a result, unable to face life “on the outside.”
- Mormon fundamentalists, by and large, are “true believers”…that
is, they put up with the hardships of polygamy, and in many cases,
abusive and authoritative leadership, because they truly want
to please God. Because they truly believe that it is necessary
for their salvation. What we want to communicate to all Mormon
fundamentalists is that polygamy is not the way to salvation—Jesus
Christ is, and Him alone!

- POLYGAMY
- In order to understand The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints one needs to take a look at the Mormon
Church's history of doctrinal changes regarding the subject of
polygamy.
John Taylor, one of the Mormon Church's earliest leaders said:
We believe in honesty, morality, and purity; but when they enact
tyrannical laws, forbidding us the free exercise of our religion,
we cannot submit. God is greater than the United States, and
when the Government conflicts with heaven, we will be ranged
under banner of heaven and against the Government... Polygamy
is a divine institution. It has been handed down direct from
God. The United States cannot abolish it. No nation on earth
can prevent it, nor all the nations of the earth combined,...
I defy the United States; I will obey God.

- "The Most Holy And Important Doctrine Ever Revealed"
The LDS Church happens to be exceedingly prickly about its short,
uncommonly rich history - and no aspect of that history makes
the church more defensive than "plural marriage." The
LDS leadership has worked hard to persuade both the modern church
membership and the American public that polygamy was a quaint,
long-abandoned idiosyncrasy practiced by a mere handful of nineteenth-century
Mormons. The religious literature handed out by the earnest young
missionaries in Temple Square makes no mention of the fact that
Joseph Smith - still the religion's focal personage - married
at least thirty-three women, and probably as many as forty-eight.
Nor does it mention that the youngest of these wives was just
fourteen years old when Joseph explained to her that God had
commanded that she marry him or face eternal damnation.
- Polygamy was, in fact, one of the most sacred credos of Joseph's
church - a tenet important enough to be canonized for the ages
as Section 132 of The
Doctrine and Convenants, on of Mormonism's primary scriptural
texts.

- MORMON SENATOR WANTS FEDERAL PROBE OF POLYGAMISTS
AP, USA - Sep. 13, 2006 - CARSON CITY, Nev. - The U.S. Senate's
top Democrat called Tuesday for a federal investigation into
the activities of polygamists in Western states. Minority Leader
Harry Reid of Nevada said in a letter to U.S. Attorney General
Alberto Gonzales that a task force should be formed to look into
interstate activities of polygamists. He also asked the Justice
Department to help state prosecutors dealing with polygamous
sect leader Warren Jeffs.
- "For too long, this outrageous activity has been disguised
in the mask of religious freedom," Reid said. "But
child abuse and human servitude have nothing to do with religious
freedom." Reid, a Mormon, added that Jeffs is part of a
sect that broke away from the Mormon Church more than a century
ago and has been disavowed by leaders and mainstream members
of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints A reporter's
call to the Justice Department's after-hours command center was
transferred to the department's press office, where there was
no answer.
- Jeffs, 50, is charged with two felony counts of rape as an
accomplice, accused of arranging a "spiritual marriage"
between an underage girl and an older man. Each count carries
a penalty of five years to life in prison.
- The leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints was arrested Aug. 28 by the Nevada Highway
Patrol during a traffic stop and is being held without bail.
He had been on the run for about a year-and-a-half when he was
arrested.
- Besides the Utah charges, Jeffs is facing two felony charges
in Mohave County, Ariz., for a similarly arranged marriage involving
an underage girl. He is expected to be prosecuted there after
Utah proceedings have concluded.

- TWO ARRESTS IN UTAH
 There have been two arrests made
at a Mormon pageant in Clarkston, Utah in August. The first was
Living Hope’s own Joel Kramer, who was arrested while he
and Scott were videotaping the pageant from a public vantage
point. Then a week later, during a Christian outreach at the
same pageant (which consisted of nothing more than handing out
gospel literature), Chip Thompson of Tri-Grace Ministries was
also arrested, while on public property. In both cases, the law
seems clearly on the side of Joel and Chip, in that they were
doing nothing illegal or warranting arrest; in fact, in both
cases this seems to represent a clear breakdown of the separation
of church and state. Nevertheless, in a Mormon-dominated court

- CHRISTIAN WOMEN ADDICTED TO PORNOGRAPHY!
According to a poll by ChristiaNet.com and Second Glance Ministries,
1/2 of all Christian men are addicted to pornography! That may
or may not shock you, but did you know that 20% of Christian
women have also become addicted to pornography? 60% of the women
respondents admitted to having significant struggles with lust,
40% admitted to being involved in sexual sin in the past year,
and 20% of the church-going female participants struggled with
looking at porn on an ongoing basis! No wonder so many church
goers are divorcing! We can blame the internet for flooding us
with easily available porn, glanced at in the privacy of the
home, making it all too easy for the voyeur. Second Glance Ministries
says the result of all of this is a "catastrophic"
impact on the church. The impact is most severe on regular church
goers. Add to this the impact of lust filled music lyrics, movies,
TV, books and even grocery stores, all with their focus on seducing
the onlooker. The rise in sexual addictive behaviors inside and
outside the church prompted the development of an addiction recovery

– by the International Bible Society a few months ago. Satan
is always there, ready to seduce the dissatisfied who respond
to the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eye. God forbid

- ISLAM: SHARIA COULD COME VIA DEMOCRACY
- [Ednote:I was listening tonight to Democracy Now and sure
enough a Muslim won the primary in the U.S.]
- Dutch minister - Expatica, Netherlands - Sep. 13, 2005 -
AMSTERDAM — Dutch Justice Minister Piet Hein Donner has
provoked an angry response by stating it has to be possible for
Sharia Law to be introduced in the Netherlands via democratic
means. The Christian Democrat (CDA) minister made the suggestion
during an interview for the book 'Het land van haat en nijd'
(the land of hate and malice) which was published on Wednesday.
Donner indicated he was not happy with the tone of the integration
debate in the Netherlands. Muslims, he said, just like Protestants
and Roman Catholics, have a right to the perceptions of their
religion, even if that included dissenting rules of behaviour
such as imams refusing to shake hands with women. He went on
to say: "It must be possible for Muslim groups to come to

of opinions rather than signalling that such ideas can form part

fourth edition. There have been thousands of letters over the
years and comments are available upon request. The questions
which are asked of this author are: What made you even remotely
curious that the six-pointed star might not be "Jewish"
After all, it is called the "Star of David" and has
it not become the international insignia of Jewishness and the
State of Israel. The controversy and the challenge are answered
in the book. The quest began at York University, Ontario, Canada,
when an Orthodox Jewish friend of mine was investigating Messianic
Judaism. Our intellectual conversation covered many topics which
included the so-called Star of David, which he said he did not

- Being a journalist, he challenged me to explore the six-pointed
star. And I accepted the challenge, with the plan that I would
prove its Jewishness. After all, I wore one and felt I had to
defend it, even to him. That was the summer of 1979 and the research
took me four years to complete. I found a few Jews who knew it
was not Jewish, and these are mentioned in the book. Others did
not think about it, and most did not care whether it was orignially
occult or not - they did not think it mattered. I checked Jewish
sources and all their encyclopaedias attested that it was not
originally Jewish and was not used as the symbol for any of the
twelve tribes of Israel. Jewish sources said it wasn't originally
Jewish. So, what was it? That took four years of research. From
archive to archive, library to library...history book to history
book.
- The first mention of the star was in Amos 5:26 regarding
the trek from Egypt to Canaan. Then in 922 B.C., when Solomon
married the daughter of Pharoah and went into magic and witchcraft
and built an altar to Ashtoroth and Moloch. The book traces the
six pointed star from Egypt to Solomon, to Arab Magic and Witchcraft,
to Druid use(references are documented). The book traces the
star through Freemasonry usage to Mayer Amschel Bauer, who, in
the 17th century, changed his name to depict the red six-pointed
star (or shield) which he had hung on his door in Germany, and
thus began the family of "Red Shield" or Rothschild.

that Muslims have been offended by some of his words in a recent
speech in Germany, the Vatican said Saturday — stopping
short of issuing an apology the Islamic world has demanded.
- The new Vatican secretary of state, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone,
said the pope’s position on Islam is unmistakably in line
with Vatican teaching that the church regards Muslims with “esteem.”
- Thus, the pope “sincerely regrets that certain passages
of his address could have sounded offensive to the sensitivities
of the Muslim faithful and should have been interpreted in a
manner that in no way corresponds to his intentions,” Bertone
said in a statement. “Indeed it was he who, before the religious
fervor of Muslim believers, warned secularized Western culture
to guard against ‘the contempt for God and the cynicism
that considers mockery of the sacred to be an exercise of freedom,”’
Bertone said, citing words from another speech that Benedict
gave during the German trip.

profess Islam, he hopes that they will be helped to understand
the correct meaning of his words,” the cardinal said.The
words, in a speech Benedict gave to university professors earlier
in the week during a pilgrimage to his homeland, angered many

trip to predominantly Muslim Turkey in late November would go
ahead.
- Muslim leaders have been unappeased by previous overtures
by Vatican officials and have demanded the pope apologize for
his remarks on Islam and jihad, or holy war. The Vatican has
said that Benedict only meant to emphasize the incompatibility
between faith and war.
- Pope called Islam 'evil and inhuman'
Benedict on Tuesday cited an obscure Medieval text that characterizes
some of the teachings of Islam’s founder as “evil and
inhuman” — comments some experts took as a signal the
Vatican was staking a more demanding stance for its dealings
with the Muslim world. When giving the speech, the pope stressed
that he was quoting the words of a Byzantine emperor and did
not comment directly on the “evil and inhuman” assessment.
Bertone, referring Saturday to the emperor’s “opinion,”
said “the Holy Father did not mean, nor does he mean, to
make that opinion his own in any way.”
- The cardinal pointed out that the pope was speaking in an
academic setting and suggested that a “complete and attentive
reading” of the entire text would make clear the pope’s
reflections about the relationship between religion and violence
in general. He said the pope’s speech ended with “clear
and radical rejection of the religious motivation for violence,
from whatever side it may come.” Bertone also cited other
recent statements by the pope which he said makes “unequivocally”
clear the pope’s work in favor of intercultural and interreligious
dialogue.

of reconciliation and learn to life with respect for each other’s

call her Mariam Sadiqa. People come from all over Pakistan, where

but also the non Christians. And they will not say like us the
Mother of God. We the Milap team, on Saturday 9th Sept. went
to the Marian Shrine. We were about 30 people including Children.
After paying homage to Mother Mary we were in groups to have
the views of the people.

church with a view to adulterating it by proclaiming a counterfeit
Jesus, a counterfeit spirit and a counterfeit gospel. Scripture

- A solemn warning
Since the start of the Christian era, many churches have shown
a fatal inability to distinguish between the truth of God's inspired
Word and misrepresentations of it: "I marvel that ye are
so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Christ
unto another gospel: which is not another; but there be some
that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But
though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto
you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed."
(Gal. 1:6-8).
- The congregation in Corinth suffered from the same lack of
discernment and spiritual insight: "For I am jealous over
you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband,
that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear,
lest by any means, as the serpent [deceived] Eve through his
[craftiness], so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity
that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus,
whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which
ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted,
[you put up with it well]" "For such are false apostles,
deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.
And no [wonder]; for Satan [transforms himself] into an angel
of light" (2 Cor. 11:2-4,13-14; emphasis
added).
- From these quotations it is evident that there are three
main ways in which the truth of Scripture can be falsified by
Satan to deceive Christians and lead them astray. These perversions
involve crucial issues at the very core of our faith and are
intended to deceive people into accepting another Jesus, another
spirit, and another gospel. Satan's strategy to attack, misrepresent
and pervert the Christian faith has continued unabated throughout
the entire church dispensation. It is crucially important that
the particular forms of deception current in these last days
should be rejected and exposed by all who profess to be Christians.
- ANOTHER JESUS
The following are the most common ways in which the Person, work
and image of the Lord Jesus are distorted so as to present a
counterfeit Jesus who is powerless to save lost sinners from
the righteous judgement of a holy God:
- Jesus the human teacher
In sects such as the Jehovah's Witnesses and in other religions
such as Islam, the deity of Jesus is denied. Most portray Him
as a merely human prophet or unusually gifted teacher, while
explicitly denying that He is the Son of God: "Who is a
liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist,
that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son,
the same hath not the Father" (1 Jn. 2:22-23).
- Tragically, the antichristian denial of Christ's deity is
now common in many professedly Christian churches. Theologians
also have an increasing tendency to deny His miraculous conception
and virgin birth, thus attempting to reduce Him to an ordinary,
fallible human being. A powerful movement promotes the deceptive
idea that the historical Jesus (i.e. the so-called real Jesus)
is to be clearly distinguished from the mythic Jesus (or cultic
Jesus) which, they allege, the Church's tradition has transformed
Him into.
- A shocking fact about this current campaign against the true,
biblical Jesus is that many leading theologians in university
theology faculties actively support it by questioning biblical
statements that He is the true Messiah of Israel and the Son
of God. In the effort to reconcile the above two incompatible
images of Him and to discover the 'real' historical Jesus, the
biblical Jesus is stripped of His deity.
- Leading this campaign among academics is the Jesus Seminar,
established in USA in 1985. Many theologians elsewhere are following
suit. The University of South Africa's Institute for Theology
and Religion published Images of Jesus in 1997, in which they
seriously distort His biblical image.
- If Jesus was not truly 'God with us' (Mt. 1:23) and sinless
He could not have offered Himself as the atoning sacrifice for
the sin of Adam's fallen race. In the first Adam we are all spiritually
dead, as we inherit his sinful nature. A dying race needs a second
Adam, a perfect God-Man, to re-create us in His image by imputing
His righteousness and imparting His eternal life to us (1 Cor.
15:22,45; Rom. 5:14-21). Jesus is the God-Man: Himself God, Son
of God and Son of Man. To deny His deity by depicting Him as
merely a prophet is to rob the world of its only hope of a Divine

- PETER RUCKMAN, UFOS, AND DAFFY DUCK
- Friday Church News Notes, September 1, 2006 - David Cloud
- Peter Ruckman of Pensacola, Florida, has done more harm to
the cause of the King James Bible than some of its enemies. That
is due to his cultic beliefs and his strange, carnal spirit.
According to one of his books, "Black Is Beautiful"
(1996), UFOs are real, and if you doubt it you are an unbeliever.
If Ruckman says two plus two equals five, and you don't agree,
you are an unbelieving "jack leg" and a "bloated
egotist." He believes the CIA has implanted brain transmitters
in children, old people, blacks, and prisoners (p. 243) and operates
underground alien breeding facilities (p. 256). He believes in
blue aliens with blue blood (pp. 85, 86), black aliens with green
blood (p. 244), and grey aliens with clear blood (pp. 310-11).
He believes that Adam originally had water in his veins instead
of blood (p. 185). He believes that the CIA flies around in space
ships developed from technology gained when the government made
a deal with aliens to allow them to kidnap children and use their
organs as food and to experiment on U.S. citizens (pp. 291, 295-297).
Ruckman does not use facts, he abuses them; and he often builds
his case upon thin air, fables, and half-truths. Consider one
example of his reasoning. An old Bolivian legend tells of a non-human
race that had webbed feet. Old comic books about Daffy Duck and
Donald Duck depict creatures with webbed feet (p. 85). Voila!
The legend must be true and Donald Duck must be a secret depiction
of aliens!!!!
- For 33 years, since I was converted, my sole authority has
been the King James Bible, and the bottom line here is that the
Bible says nothing about UFOs and therefore it is not something
I need to concern myself with (2 Tim. 3:16-17). The verses that
Ruckman cites in support of UFOS are taken out of context and
grossly misused, not remotely supporting such nonsense (e.g.,
Gen. 6:1-5; 2 Sam. 5:24; 2 Ki. 2:11; Isa. 14:29; Ezek. 1:4; Zech.
5:1-3). Ruckman believes that the aliens are demons who are preparing
to take control during the Tribulation and he cites Revelation
9:2-3, but this does not describe UFOs and it has nothing to
do with events in our day. Revelation 9 describes demons who
are currently imprisoned rather than appearing on earth. The
Lord Jesus Christ and the apostles did not teach God's people
to worry about UFOs or to rage against the government. They taught
us to honor those in authority and submit to them (Rom. 13:1-7;
1 Pet. 2:13-25), to live obedient and holy lives and to dedicate
ourselves to preaching the gospel to the ends of the earth until
Christ returns (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8). You don't see Paul
ranting against the Roman Empire and mocking its emperor. Dear

illustrious individual ever filmed, written about and talked
about still to this day over 60 years after his suicide. His

- "... This weekend, I will be sharing the second message
in our Fall Journey With Jesus. The title of the message is "The
Manliness of Jesus." I am praying that it will fire you
up as much as it has me. It's a major paradigm shift from our
normal thoughts about Jesus. This week, I have read a book by
Erwin McManus called THE BARBARIAN WAY. In it, he says something
that should prepare our hearts for the weekend message.
- While the quote from the book is benign, the book is not,
and if any mention of the book is made by Jeremiah, it should
be one of warning. If you have been following Jeremiah's slip
toward what we might call contemplative/emerging Christianity,
his promotion of McManus' book probably won't be too surprising.
Last year, we mentioned on a VCY America radio program that Jeremiah
was going to be speaking at the Lead Like Jesus conference with
Ken Blanchard (whose conference it was). Shortly after this airing,
Jeremiah pulled out of the conference and then Blanchard canceled
the conference all together. Jeremiah then wrote a letter to
Lighthouse Trails and made it public. He defended Ken Blanchard
who had been and still is promoting the New Age, particularly
New Age mysticism. After researching Jeremiah's 2003/2005 book,
Life Wide Open, it made a little more sense why he would have
no trouble with Blanchard's New Age proclivities. A special report
on that book said:

of "Unleashing the Power of a Passionate Life." In
the introduction of the book, Jeremiah tells readers that "A
Small handful among us have discovered what the rest of us would

open..." Who are these small handful of people who have
discovered the secret? Well according to Jeremiah's book, his

Sue Monk Kidd ( When the Heart Waits), contemplative Calvin Miller
(Into the Depths of God), Buddhist sympathizer Peter Senge (The
Fifth Discipline), emerging church leader Erwin McManus, contemplative

Show”. Here Christian merchants came to ply their wares

- Reuters - By Peter Graff - Baghdad - British troops in Iraq
said on Monday they had killed one of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin
Laden's top global lieutenants, who escaped from a United States
prison in Afghanistan last year.
- Omar Faruq was shot dead while resisting arrest on Monday
during a pre-dawn raid by about 200 British troops in Iraq's
second biggest city, Basra, British military spokesperson Major
Charlie Burbridge said.
- US leaders have described Faruq as the top al-Qaeda operative
in south-east Asia. He was caught in Indonesia in 2002 and held
at a high-security detention centre at Bagram airbase north of
the Afghan capital Kabul until his escape last year.
- "The individual had been tracked across Iraq and was
in hiding in Basra," Burbridge said, calling him a "very,
very significant man". "Two companies (about 200 troops)
launched the operation in the early hours of this morning. The
troops returned to base without any multinational force casualties."
Faruq, once believed to be the main link between Bin Laden's
followers and the Jemaah Islamiah militant group blamed for bombings
in Indonesia, was one of four men who escaped from Bagram in
July last year...
- "They (Americans) will not be able to stop the march
of Jihad... with their checkpoints, forces, machinery, advanced
equipment. No matter how strong or equipped they are they will
not defeat the Almighty." Burbridge said Faruq was hiding
in Basra and not necessarily believed to be operating there.

- NOT A LIVE AND LET LIVE MOVEMENT ANY MORE
- By Jennifer Roback Morse Monday, September 4, 2006 Many people
of libertarian inclinations, of whom I am one, have sympathy
for a particular style of gay rights movement. Let and let live,
we always say. If it isn't hurting any one else, it is no business
of the government's. Those days are over. The gay caucus of the
California State Assembly is not interested in live and let live.
This is an aggressive, intrusive movement that brooks no disagreement.
Consider the following recent developments. The CA State Assembly
passed legislation banning discrimination in state operated or
funded programs on the basis of actual or perceived sexual orientation
or gender identity.
- The bill, SB 1441, makes no provision for religious exceptions.
- Religious universities and schools will be required to take
no notice of same sex conduct, or risk losing any student financial
assistance from the state. This legislation was sponsored by
Democratic state senator, Sheila Kuehl. This bill curtails the
ability of Christian schools to maintain their religious identity.
Even now, a California Lutheran high school is being sued because
it suspended two female students who were having a sexual relationship,
in violation of the school's code of conduct. There is no place
for religious disapproval of same sex sexual conduct in the topsy-turvy
ideological universe of the LBGT caucus. Evidently, we have to
tolerate "gender non-conformity," but we don't have
to tolerate diversity of religious standards of sexual behavior.
If the state of California were a "night watchman state,"
that simply enforced contracts and provided police protection,
the claim that the state shouldn't discriminate based on sexual
orientation might make sense. But no one believes for a moment
that gay people can't get their contracts enforced in California.
- The state continues to expand its already extensive redistribution
of income and regulation of life far beyond any libertarian,
mind-your-own-business philosophy. The State Assembly recently
approved a bill (SB 840) granting universal health insurance,
and designating the state as the single-payer for health care.
If the governor signs this bill into law, the state will have
increased leverage for regulating doctors and hospitals. Every
religious hospital and clinic will be receiving, not just part
of their income, but all their income, from the state. *Even
now, a lesbian is suing a Southern California doctor because
the doctor refused perform an artificial insemination on unmarried
women, citing religious objections to inseminating a woman whose
child would have no father. *Artificial insemination is an elective
procedure if ever there was one. The woman found another doctor.
As a matter of fact, the very doctor she is suing made the referral.
*There is evidently no room for Christian doctors in the "live
and let live" utopia contemplated by the LBGT caucus. *The
pressures on the health care industry to conform to the LBGT
standards of non-discrimination can only increase if the State
of California becomes the only payer for health care. Guess who
proposed the universal health care bill? The very same Sheila
Kuehl who sponsored the recently passed anti-discrimination bill.
- This same Sheila Kuehl also wants the state to micro-manage
the content of school textbooks so that gender non-conforming
children don't feel bad. (SB 1437) The terms "husband"
and "wife," "mother" and "father"
could well be among the forbidden language that adversely affects
homosexual self-esteem. The LBGT caucus evidently believes that
gay people need more than for everybody to mind their own business.
Prohibiting discrimination means forbidding people to take any
notice of sexual orientation. Sheila Kuehl and her allies are
not going to be satisfied until they wipe out every religious
group that teaches that being straight is preferable to being
gay. Or until they shove religion safely into the closet.
- The combination of anti-discrimination laws covering sexual
orientation and expansive provision of state services adds up
to increasing state-imposed ideological conformity. The LBGT
caucus wants all gay people to be treated a certain way, by everyone,
all the time. And they won't quit until they have used all the
state power at their disposal to force people to conform. And
they are expanding the set of state power tools. Whatever the
gay rights movement might once have been, whatever it might be
in other places, the LBGT caucus of the California State Assembly
in not a "live and let live" movement. This is an aggressive,
intolerant bunch of bullies. No libertarian, no one who values
freedom, can align themselves with such people.

- MORE EAVES-DROPPING SYSTEMS IN THE WORKS
- Published Sunday 3rd September 2006 08:02 GMT *Comment* The
first thing that came out of our mouths when we heard that Google
is working on a system that listens to what's on your TV playing
in the background, and then serves you relevant adverts, was
"that's cool, but dangerous".
- The idea appeared in *Technology Review* citing Peter Norvig,
director of research at Google, who says these ideas will show
up eventually in real Google products - sooner rather than later.
- The idea is to use the existing PC microphone to listen to
whatever is heard in the background, be it music, your phone
going off or the TV turned down. The PC then identifies it, using
fingerprinting, and then shows you relevant content, whether
that's adverts or search results, or a chat room on the subject.
- And, of course, we wouldn't put it past Google to store that
information away, along with the search terms it keeps that you've
used, and the web pages you have visited, to help it create a
personalised profile that feeds you just the right kind of adverts/content.
And given that it is trying to develop alternative approaches
to TV advertising, it could go the extra step and help send "content
relevant" advertising to your TV as well.
- We suspect that such a world would be rather eerie, with
a constant feeling of déjà vu every time anyone
watched TV. *Technology Review* said Google talked about this
software in Europe last June, and that it breaks sound into a
five-second snippets to pick out audio from a TV, reducing the
snippet to a digital "fingerprint", which it matches
on an internet server. Given the furore caused when AOL released
searches on the internet, there might be more than a few civil
liberties activists less than happy for Google to put this idea
into practice. Also, given that Google provides the software
link between its search software and the microphone, it's a small
step to making the same link to any webcams attached to the PC.
- Pretty soon the security industry is going to find a way
to hijack the Google feed and use it for full on espionage.
- Google says that its fingerprinting technology makes it impossible
for the company (or anyone else) to eavesdrop on other sounds
in the room, such as personal conversations, because the conversion
to a fingerprint is made on the PC, and a fingerprint can't be
reversed, as it's only an identity. But we should think that
"spyware" might take on an extra meaning if someone
less scrupulous decided on a similar piece of software.
- The Google program converts sound into graphs, weeds out
background noise, and reduces the graphs to key features that
can then be translated into just four bytes of information, so
that the fingerprints for an entire year of television programming
would add up to no more than a few gigabytes, the company said.
Meanwhile, in an unconnected announcement this week, Google said
it has signed a multi-year agreement with online auction giant
eBay, to provide text-based advertising outside the US. The companies
also plan to launch a "click-to-call" advertising function
on eBay using Skype and Google Talk.

State University of New York September 14, 2006 For years NASA
insisted it couldn’t be done. Beyond the orbit of Mars,
NASA said, solar energy could not be used to generate electricity
for onboard power on space devices. So the agency used the extremely
dangerous nuclear substance, plutonium, as fuel in electric generating
systems and people on Earth were put at great risk in the event
of an accident. In the last several years, NASA moved to expand
its space nuclear program. And, the Department of Energy which
provides the plutonium-fueled systems to NASA announced it was
going to consolidate the production of plutonium for them at
Idaho National
- LABORATORY.
- Now, suddenly, it turns out that plutonium power is not necessary
even beyond the orbit of Mars. NASA concedes: solar power will
do just fine. As the leading space industry trade magazine, Aviation
Week & Space Technology, recently reported: Budget and technical
realities have led NASA to put its once-ambitious space nuclear
power plans on a slow track, but development in solar power generation
should allow new scientific probes beyond Mars to operate without
nuclear energy. The U.S. space agency is already planning a solar-powered
mission to study the atmosphere of Jupiter, and has looked at
sending probes as deep into space as Neptune using only the Sun’s
energy for spacecraft and instrument power. It is all but certain
the next U.S. deep-space missions will be solar-powered.

- The piece went on describe the new giant solar energy systems
that will be used to harvest solar energy at record efficiencies
vast distances from the Sun. Jeremy Maxand, executive director
of Idaho’s nuclear watchdog, the Snake River Alliance, which
has been challenging using INL to produce plutonium, says: It’s
good to see plutonium space batteries following in the steps
of the now demoted planet Pluto. We've said since day one that
plutonium is unnecessary and dangerous, and that we can do the
same job a better way, and now we're seeing what that better
way is solar."
- AND AS IN SPACE SO GOES THE EARTH BELOW
- Maxand notes: The window of opportunity to fool the public
into going nuclear, in energy and space travel, is quickly closing.
While DOE and big nuke contractors like Lockheed Martin are rushing
to secure funding and policy to keep nuclear around, alternative
energy developers are running laps around the nuke industry,
building manufacturing plants and putting up wind farms faster
than the government can finish a plutonium draft environmental
impact statement." The nightmare of nuclear power has taken
a huge toll and has stood to cause even more illness and death.
There have been the Three Mile Island and Chernobyl disasters,
and numerous near misses.
- Of 28 U.S. space missions using plutonium, there have been
three accidents, the worst in 1964 in which a plutonium-powered
satellite fell back to Earth, breaking up and spreading the toxic
radioactive substance widely. Dr. John Gofman, professor emeritus
of medical physics at the University of California at Berkeley,
has long linked that accident to an increased rate of lung cancer
on Earth. There have been dangerous NASA schemes such as the
plutonium-fueled Cassini mission. In 1997, NASA launched its
Cassini probe, which carried more plutonium than ever put on
a space device; and in 1999, Cassini was hurtled back at Earth
in a flyby to increase its velocity so it could get to Saturn.
If there was what NASA called an inadvertent reentry of Cassini
into the Earth’s atmosphere during the flyby just a few
hundred miles up, it would disintegrate and 5 billion of the
world population could receive 99 percent or more of the radiation
exposure, NASA admitted in its Final Environmental Impact Statement
for the Cassini Mission. Opponents said solar could substitute
for plutonium on Cassini. No way, said NASA. Cassini made it
past, but six weeks later NASA’s Mars Climate Observer on
a flyby of Mars came in too low one NASA team calculated altitude
in feet, another in meters, and the human error screw-up caused
it to crash. It could have been Cassini.
- WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN NOW CONCERNING PLUTONIUM PRODUCTION
AT INL?
- Probably, DOE will claim it’s important to continue
another use a so-called national security use of the especially
nasty isotope of plutonium, Plutonium-238, to be fabricated at
INL. What DOE is referring to is the use of plutonium in surveillance
devices the U.S. has through the decades left in far-flung areas
of the world. Here, too, solar panels could harvest the needed
energy safely. And, post-9/11, scattering plutonium-fueled surveillance
devices around the planet is asking for it. All it would take
is a terrorist with a Phillips head screwdriver to take plutonium
from one of these devices and fabricate a super-dirty bomb, as
Maxand has pointed out. As to the safety record of these systems,
most of it is hidden in secrecy but an illuminating book, just-published,
is An Eye at the Top of the World by Pete Takeda. It reports
now how the CIA installed a plutonium-powered surveillance device
in the mid-1960s in the Himalayas, which was subsequently swept
away by an avalanche. The device fell and sunk into a glacier
and was lost. The plutonium it contained is now moving ever closer
to the source of the Ganges River a sacred river for a billion
people. We don’t need plutonium in space, at INL, or spreading

- POTOMAC'S 'INTERESEX' FISH RAISE POLLUTION FEARS
- The Washington Post Company - by David A. Fahrenthold - September
6, 2006 - WASHINGTON - Abnormally developed fish, possessing
both male and female characteristics, have been discovered in
the Potomac River in the District and in tributaries across the
region, federal scientists say -- raising alarms that the river
is tainted by pollution that drives hormone systems haywire.
The fish, smallmouth and largemouth bass, are naturally males
but for some reason are developing immature eggs inside their
sex organs. Their discovery at such widely spread sites, including
one just upstream from the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, seems to show
that the Potomac's problem with "intersex" fish extends
far beyond the West Virginia stream where they were first found
in 2003.
- The cause of the abnormalities is unknown, but scientists
suspect a class of waterborne contaminants that can confuse animals'
growth and reproductive systems. These pollutants are poorly
understood, however, leaving many observers with questions about
what the problems in fish mean for the Potomac and the millions
of people who take their tap water from it.
- "I don't know, and I don't think anybody knows, the
answer to that question right now: Is the effect in the fish
transferable to humans?" said Thomas Jacobus, general manager
of the Washington Aqueduct, which processes Potomac water to
provide drinking water for residents of the District, Arlington
County and Falls Church.
- Jacobus, like others at area utilities, said there was no
evidence that tap water taken from the Potomac was unsafe to
drink. They said humans should be far less susceptible to the
river's pollution than fish, because people are not exposed constantly
to the water, our hormone systems work differently, and our larger
bodies should require higher doses of any pollutant to cause
problems. As research on the fish continues, other scientists
across the region are trying to determine whether Potomac water
or mud can affect human cells. This research, including tests
at West Virginia University that examine whether cells react
as if estrogen or estrogen mimics are present, has not reached
any solid conclusions.
- Striking results - The first intersex fish in this area were
found three years ago in the South Branch of the Potomac, a tributary
more than 200 miles upstream from Washington. In 2004, more abnormal
bass were discovered in a section of the upper Potomac near Sharpsburg,
Md... The results were striking, according to Vicki S. Blazer,
a fish pathologist with the U.S. Geological Survey. More than
80 percent of all the male smallmouth bass they found were growing
eggs, including all of the fish caught at four of the seven survey
sites. The intersex condition doesn't change the fish's outward
appearance but can be detected under a microscope.
- At the site in Washington, seven of 13 male largemouth bass
showed some kind of unusual feminine characteristic. Six of the
seven fish tested positive for a protein used to produce eggs,

- [Curious as to what the Democrats are talking about when
they so frequently bring up the Third Way Progressive Movement.
Following is what my research brought to light about the slogan
'The Third Way'.]
- The Third Way is a global movement dedicated to modernizing
progressive politics for the information age. Third Way politics
seeks a new balance of economic dynamism and social security,
a new social compact based on individual rights and responsibilities,
and a new model for governing that equips citizens and communities

- June 1, 1998 - America and the world have changed dramatically
in the closing decades of the 20th century. The industrial order
of the 20th century is rapidly yielding to the networked "New
Economy" of the 21st century. Our political and governing
systems, however, have lagged behind the rest of society in adapting
to these seismic shifts. They remain stuck in the left-right
debates and the top-down bureaucracies of the industrial past.
- The Democratic Leadership Council, and its affiliated think
tank the Progressive Policy Institute, have been catalysts for
modernizing politics and government. From their political analysis
and policy innovations has emerged a progressive alternative
to the worn-out dogmas of traditional liberalism and conservatism.
The core principles and ideas of this "Third Way" movement
are set forth in The New Progressive Declaration: A Political
Philosophy for the Information Age.
- Starting with Bill Clinton's Presidential campaign in 1992,
Third Way thinking is reshaping progressive politics throughout
the world. Inspired by the example of Clinton and the New
Democrats, Tony Blair in Britain led a revitalized New Labour
party back to power in 1997. The victory of Gerhard Shroeder
and the Social Democrats in Germany the next year confirmed
the revival of center-left parties which either control or are
part of the governing coalition forming throughout the European
Union. From Latin America to Australia and New Zealand, Third
Way ideas also are taking hold.
- On Sunday, April 25, 1999, the President Clinton and the
DLC hosted a historic roundtable discussion, The
Third Way: Progressive Governance for the 21st Century, with
five world leaders including British PM Tony Blair, German
Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, Dutch PM Wim Kok, and Italian PM
Massimo D'Alema, the First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton and DLC
President Al From.
- The Third Way philosophy seeks to adapt enduring progressive
values to the new challenges of he information age. It rests
on three cornerstones: the idea that government should promote
equal opportunity for all while granting special privilege for
none; an ethic of mutual responsibility that equally rejects
the politics of entitlement and the politics of social abandonment;
and, a new approach to governing that empowers citizens to
act for themselves.
- The Third Way approach to economic opportunity and security
stresses technological innovation, competitive enterprise, and
education rather than top- down redistribution or laissez faire.
On questions of values, it embraces "tolerant traditionalism,"
honoring traditional moral and family values while resisting
attempts to impose them on others. It favors an enabling
rather than a bureaucratic government, expanding choices for
citizens, using market means to achieve public ends and encouraging
civic and community institutions to play a larger role in public
life. The Third Way works to build inclusive, multiethnic
societies based on common allegiance to democratic values.

- A LETTER TO PRESIDENT BUSH FROM PAKISTAN ON SEPTEMBER 14,

- This is in response to the news article published in New
York Times on September 14, 2001 under the heading of
"AN UNCERTAIN ALLY" U.S. Presses Pakistan to
Help Pry a Suspected Terrorist From Afghanistan Haven, by Celia
W. Digger.
- We the people of Pakistan were shocked to know about the
"Terrorist Attack" on World Trade Center in New York
and Pentagon building at Washington D.C. The entire Pakistani
nation condemned these barbaric attacks that resulted in loss
of innocent lives and property. The entire Pakistani nation was
stunned, sad and sympathetic to the people of the United States.
The President, General Musharraf and other high level official
of the government of Pakistan sent their messages of condolence
to the United States. Hundreds of Thousands of common Pakistani
citizens like me sent their message of sympathy to the government
and the people of United States and we still stand with the government
and the people of the United States in sympathy, grief and sorrow.
- Most of the people of Pakistan still in state of shock over
the terrible tragedy of New York and Washington D.C got another
shock when we learned that the government of United States has
immediately pointed its finger at Pakistan for being indirectly
involved in Tuesday's acts of terrorism and put forward its demands
"only" to the government of Pakistan with a note that
Pakistan has "no third option", yes or no. This demand
from the government of the United States is unrealistic and one
sided. I personally consider this demand as an insult to a long
time friend of the United States. At the same time the report
by Celia W. Dugger of the Associate Press, is highly, objectionable
extremely derogatory and an insult to a sovereign state. Full

- VIOLENCE ERUPTS IN HUNGARY AS COUNTRY PLUNGES INTO MORAL
CRISIS

with police and stormed state television headquarters early today,
responding with violence to a leaked recording that caught Hungary's
prime minister admitting that the government "lied
morning, evening and night" to win April elections.
- Rescue services said that at least 50 people were injured
as police fired tear gas and water cannons at rock-throwing protesters
who have demanded that Socialist Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany's
government resign. He said he had no plans to do so. The violence
followed a mainly peaceful demonstration that began a day earlier
outside parliament, after a recording made in May was leaked
to local media, Los Angeles Times reports. Some of those taking
part in the demonstration were said to be from fringe right-wing
parties. A group of people did manage to get inside the TV station
which was forced off air amid reports of vandalism and looting.
The building is near parliament where thousands of protesters
had gathered. While the man at the centre of the storm, Prime
Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany has the backing of his fellow Socialists,
the main opposition party says it will boycott parliament today,
- Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany's Socialist-led coalition
won a decisive victory in Hungary 's parliamentary elections
in April. His government thereby became the first in central
and eastern Europe to serve consecutive terms in office since
the fall of communism. Born in 1961, Gyurcsany is not a natural
political animal. He made his name and fortune by buying up former
state assets following the advent of privatisation. After his
re-election this year, he vowed to axe public sector jobs and
raise taxes to tackle the joint problems of economic growth and
the huge budget deficit, the highest in Europe at 6.1 percent
of GDP, EuroNews reports.
- ''We lied in the morning, we lied in the evening about issues
such as tax hikes". Ferenc Gyurcsany was caught saying this
on tape admitting to having lied to help secure victory. The
Prime Minister was making these comments to his own party members
saying, that "no European country has done such stupid things.
He also adds that it is obvious what we told the electorate is
not true" a frank admission by the leader of a country.
The tape which sparked the protests was made at a closed-door
meeting in late May, weeks after Gyurcsany's government became
the first in post-communist Hungary to win re-election, ndtv.com

- EXPERTS WARN HOUSES OF WORSHIP AT RISK AFTER COURT RULING
Eminent domain ruling could make churches, poor vulnerable: by
Yogita Patel, Religion News Service - June 27-2005 - Religious
institutions may be more vulnerable to takeover through eminent
domain after Thursday's (June 23) Supreme Court ruling that gives
local governments greater power to seize properties for private
economic development, according to some religious and civil rights
advocacy groups. Churches, mosques, synagogues and other nonprofit
religious entities are considered especially at threat because
they generate no tax revenue for cities, while developments like
hotels or shopping malls are seen to be economic boons for urban
renewal projects. "Because all houses of worship are tax-exempt,
they will continue to be attractive targets for seizure by revenue-hungry
local governments," said Jared Leland, media and legal counsel
of The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty.
- The Becket Fund is a nonprofit, interfaith legal organization
that advocates for the free expression of religion. The Becket
Fund, Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the Rutherford
Institute and many other groups filed friend-of-the-court briefs
in support of seven residents of New London, Conn., who were
fighting the city's decision to raze their homes to allow private
developers to build a commercial complex. Leland warned that
taking land and property strictly for economic interests is a
dangerous slippery slope, and said religious organizations threatened
by this decision offer communities services and aid that are
immeasurable by monetary standards. "Religion is something
that may not have an economic impact on communities, but does
have a tremendous social impact on communities." Leland
said. "Religious institutions should be welcomed and protected
in the land-use matter." John Whitehead, president of the
Rutherford Institute, said public furor may protect some religious
institutions from takeovers, but warned they still will be vulnerable.
- "If push comes to shove, churches, synagogues and anyone
who they don't consider tax-generating entities will come under
this," Whitehead said. The Rutherford Institute is a nonprofit,
civil liberties legal organization. The close 5-4 decision in
Kelo et al v. City of New London was made citing rights given
to municipalities by the Fifth Amendment, which allows them to
seize private properties for public use, in exchange for just
compensation to the owner. The high court said economic development,
especially in blighted areas, is an appropriate "public
use" rationale for seizing property. Leland said although
the ruling removes the added protection of the Fifth amendment
for fighting eminent domain cases, his organization will continue
to fight for the rights of citizens and places of worship. "The
First Amendment and federal law will continue to be the shoulder
to lean on for religious institutions," Leland said. In
addition, White noted that the ruling may not have the final
say in eminent domain cases, since the ruling allows state legislatures
to pass laws restricting this type of land seizure. He said he
hopes that religious institutions will use their organizing powers
to protect themselves and help homeowners facing situations like
the New London residents. "The less fortunate are vulnerable
and that's what Christians should be concerned about," Whitehead
said. "The churches can fight back; small land owners and

CNN September 20, 2006 BAGHDAD, Iraq - The chief judge in Saddam
Hussein's genocide trial has ejected the ousted Iraqi leader
from the courtroom for refusing to sit down moments after hearings
began. The trial resumed Wednesday with a new chief judge - Mohammad
Orabi Majeed Al-Khalefa - just a day after Iraq's government
demanded that Chief Judge Adullah al-Almiri be replaced because
of his statement that the ousted leader was not a dictator.
- Responding to the change, defense attorneys for Hussein immediately
left the courtroom after reading a statement condemning the move.
- "We believe the judiciary does not enjoy the independence
required," the statement said, adding "the decision
is against the main principles governing the independence and
integrity of the judiciary." A short time later, the former
Iraqi leader argued with the new chief judge and was ejected.
"Take him out," Al-Khalefa said. "Get out."
(Watch as new judge takes charge -- 3:08) On Tuesday, Ali Dabbagh,
a spokesman for Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, said Chief Judge
Adullah al-Almiri could no longer be considered impartial and
said the government had the administrative authority to remove
him. "We believe that Judge al-Almiri has lost his neutrality
after describing Saddam as 'not a dictator' before the procedures
of this trial are over," Dabbagh said. "This hurts
the feelings of the Iraqi people, and so the government has asked
that Judge al-Almiri be replaced by another judge, which the
Iraqi High Tribunal will pick." The U.S.-based Human Rights
Watch said the move shows "a complete lack of respect for
judicial independence."

20, 2006 UNITED NATIONS (AP) Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez
took his verbal battle with the United States to the floor of
the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday, calling President Bush
"the devil."
- "The devil came here yesterday," Chavez said. "He
came here talking as if he were the owner of the world."
The leftist leader, who joined Iran last week in an alliance
against U.S. influence, accused Washington of "domination,
exploitation and pillage of peoples of the world."
- "We appeal to the people of the United States and the
world to halt this threat, which is like a sword hanging over
our head," he said. He also said the United Nations in its
current system "doesn't work" and is "antidemocratic."
- Chavez called for reform, saying the U.S. government's "immoral
veto" had allowed recent Israeli bombings of Lebanon to
continue unabated for more than a month.
- "Venezuela once again proposes today that we reform
the United Nations," he said. Chavez lambasted Washington
for trying to block Venezuela's campaign for a rotating seat
on the U.N. Security Council. He said if chosen over U.S.-favorite
Guatemala in a secret-ballot U.N. vote next month, Venezuela
would be "the voice of the Third World."

patrol pilot who worked the ground zero site for eight days after
the collapse of the twin towers. He is one of the real heroes
of 9/11 and was the man who found the American flag that was
later displayed as a token of unity atop the rubble.
- Within hours McCormack was coughing up black mucus and within
days he was coughing up blood as the toxic dust that was deliberately
covered up by the EPA poisoned his lungs along with all the other
rescue workers, police and firemen who were being used in photo
