They met in Upper Room Ministries.. to receive consecration and training in evangelism.. Host Bob Weiner, drew youth age 13 - 21 from 75 area churches. The high goal is to train 100,000 youth to make 10 converts who will then do the same. . we are believing for 1 million new Christians by the end of 2000. Torch Rallies have been held in Colorado Springs, Co.; Baltimore; Washington; and Silver Spring, Md. The youth take the martyr's torch .. back into their schools.

Scripture the used: Malachi 4:6 "He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse." (Joel 2:14-16) "Who knows? He may turn and have pity and leave behind a blessing.. From Charisma Magazine, November 2000 p. 54 : Tens of thousands of teens and adults converged on the nation's capital recently (September 2, 2000) to pray for a revolution that will change America for Jesus.. . Teens, youth leaders, adults and children were arriving en masse for The CallDC - or "The Call" a 12 hour "solemn Assembly" that was held from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. [Editor's note: an all-night prayer gathering was also held]
Organizers had set apart the 12 hours for a day of fasting, prayer, repentance and reconciliation in hope of sparking a massive youth revolution to change the destiny of America... The CallDC was the fulfillment of a dream for Lou Engle, associate pastor of Harvest Rock Church, who first envisioned the event. A day after the Promise Keeper's Stand in the Gap Rally of October 4, 1997, Engle addressed a group of 600 youth in Phoenix [Editor's note: interesting name] and told them God wanted a corresponding movement of young people to go to Washington to pray and fast, just as their fathers done for Promise Keepers. Che' Ahn was one of the main organizers. T-shirts and free books "It's Time for Revolution" , a CD-Rom titled Live the Call with a website www.livethecall.com featuring Christian music and bottled drinks named "revolt".
Michelle Midca, 16, of Deland, Florida, drove all night with 56 other members of her youth group. Cindy Jacobs, president of Generals of Intercession urged the youth for forgive their parents?, pastors? and teachers? [Editor's Note: very subliminal messages. What did the parents do to their children? I don't recall pastors doing negatives to my children either?] "Ahn notes that there is an "extreme spirit in the DNA of the current generation" and told Charisma that he believes they are willing to sacrifice even their lives to expand the kingdom of God. Several Jumbotrons echoed through the Mall, "It's no sacrifice to give our lives to the One we love." [Editor's note: I read previously that many youth where fasting for many days and had a hard time submitting to it prior to this event.] A group of 80 wore red polo shirts with the slogan "Australians Answering the Call." ... we are here today to fight side by side.. Bill McCartney was present. He urged: "As you kiss the feet of your son or daughter, kiss one foot for their generation and the other foot for those who have been denied their fellowship through abortion." Speakers included Benny Hinn, Bill Bright, Senator Sam Browback, R-Kan. and Darrell Green of the Washington Redskins.
The fast is an outgrowth of a challenge issued in 1994 by Bill Bright, founder of the Campus Crusade for Christ. Thousands of students were challenged while standing in mud and rain. Michael Brown, president of the Brownsville Revival School of Ministry in Pensacola, Florida challenged people to begin a revolution of love, compassion, holiness and sacrifice. Philosopher of the Revolution, Michael L. Brown has written a 5,000 word publication Jesus Manifesto: A Call to Revolution - conjunction with The Call event in Washington D.C. "[Our society has] come to a breaking point where we must have a revolution, or it's over for America," Brown says. "The last generation's counterculture of rebellion has become this generation's establishment of revulsion," he says... Jesus did not come to establish a lovely Sunday morning religion. He came to establish the kingdom of God - to break the power of the enemy, to set captives free," he says. "There is a generation out there that is ready to be radical, ready to be crazy, ready to do anything, ready to break the rules," he says. "And if I can take that zeal and channel it into holiness and passion and love for Jesus, then we can change society."
Brown became a Christian in 1971 during the Jesus Movement and describes himself as being "herion-shooting, LSD-using, rebellious, Jewish rock drummer" at that time. The revolution that Brown is now calling for will turn the church , as well as society, inside out and upside-down, he says.
"It's not a revolution of guns or bombs or violence or hatred, but a Jesus revolution that will be fought with the message of the gospel, with the love of God, with the power of the Spirit, with radical holiness, with sacrifice, compassion and courage. And it will impact society in a lasting way," he emphasizes... It's now or never, time to put up or shut up. "History is eagerly anticipating our next move. This is the hour we have been waiting for. So, on with it - by life or by death. The revolution won't wait." [The entire text of Michael L. Brown's 'The Jesus Manifesto: A Call to Revolution' is available on the Web at: http://www.icnministries.org ] [Source: Charisma Magazine, November 2000 pp. 54 - 62]

The CD-Rom given out at the Washington CALLDC RALLY- told the youth to surf to this information: LIVETHECALL.COM AND THEY ARE ASKING THEM TO MAKE A VOW ! In spite of the fact that God asks us not to: James 5:12: "But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, may; lest ye fall in condemnation." Why not? because the devil can hold you to it and God can't change it. We are suppose to know the truth which sets us free from slavery and if we go for it we have chosen to be Satan's slaves. Salvation does not depend on works of any kind. It is a gift. what is a vow? What is a Vow? When a man makes a vow to the
Lord or takes an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he must
not break his word but must do everything he said. (Num. 30:2-4)

Fervent Calls For a New Society By Bill Broadway - Washington Post Staff Writer - Sunday , September 3, 2000 ; Page C01
Tens of thousands of Christian youths gathered on the Mall yesterday in a dawn-to-dusk prayer rally that called for reconciliation between children and parents, an end to abortion and sexual immorality, and the return of school-sponsored prayer.
TheCallDC, drew teenagers, youths, adult leaders and parents from as far away as Australia. Organizers envisioned the event as the beginning of a "new spiritual revolution," and participants responded with the energy and explosive outbursts associated with such a revival--crying, dancing, singing and shouts of joy.
The rally, spearheaded by Che Ahn, 44, pastor of Harvest Rock Church in Pasadena, Calif., presented a nonstop procession of speakers, preachers, singers and dancers.
Among the speakers was Bill McCartney, president of Promise Keepers. In 1997, the Christian men's movement drew more than 600,000 men to the Mall, where they pledged to be better fathers and husbands. That event, Stand in the Gap, helped inspire yesterday's gathering...
"A demonic decree has been released on your generation and mine!" shouted Lou Engle, an associate pastor at Harvest Rock Church. "You're a hated people by the power of darkness."
Engle and others also prayed for President Clinton and other government leaders, decried the influence of "mystery religions" and demanded that Christians be allowed to exercise their faith more freely.
"We need to stand up for our nation. As Christians, we have rights, too," said Evelyn Ramos, 27, one of 800 students who rode buses to the rally from Brownsville Revival School of Ministry in Florida. The Brownsville Assembly of God is the home of the Pensacola "outpouring," an ongoing revival that began five years ago.
"I'm tired of pornography, gay rights, adultery, fornication . . . and adult stores," said Ramos, who wore a small gold-and-diamond ring signifying her promise to stay pure until she marries. "I should have a right to share the Gospel. I'm never ashamed of the Gospel."
Christian Broadcasting Network: Profiles Pastor Che' Ahn Pastor Che Ahn shares about a youth gathering at the Mall on Washington, D.C. in September 2, 2000.
BEING CHANGED
Che knows the results of the power of a changed life. When Che was a child, his father, a Baptist pastor from South Korea, punished him after he brought home mediocre grades. Soon Che rebelled, turning to a life of drugs and alcohol. When Che came to Christ at the age of 17 at a rock concert, he tried to work through the pain from those turbulent years. In 1994, after sinking into depression and resigning as a pastor, Che attended the Vineyards annual conference. He was cynical as he witnessed manifestations of the Holy Spirit. (This was the beginning of the movement where showings of Gods presence occurred such as shaking, trembling, laughing, weeping, etc) Che thought people were responding as part of a mass hysteria until the Holy Spirit swept over the section Che was sitting in. He found himself unable to stop laughing! It was here that the Holy Spirit showed him the bitterness in his heart from feeling rejected by his father. He felt invigorated and later realized his depression lifted. The result of this experience was immediate fruit in Ches life he was excited about ministry again and he was in love with Jesus! In 1996, when Che developed the courage to ask his father for forgiveness for the pain he caused, his father asked for forgiveness too!
NOT JUST ANOTHER GATHERING
Che believes that it is time for a massive youth revolution of prayer and consecration. He believes it is time to call the young people of America to a walk of intimacy and righteousness with God. In October 1997, Che says his associate pastor, Lou Engle, challenged 600 students who met shortly after the huge Promise Keepers event in DC. When Lou asked the youth to respond to be the counterpart of that rally by gathering together 1 million young people, the crowd exploded! Confirmation came after a woman gave $100,000 as seed money.
The main focus of this solemn assembly is not just another event, says Che, who is the chairman of the organizing group which includes a wide-range of national youth ministries. The leading speakers and artists taking part are not being advertised because this is not a concert. When people pray and fast, God really moves. This event, The Call, which will be held at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC on Saturday, September 2, will begin at dawn with a song and end at sunset. During this event, youth will be called for a massive, solemn assembly to fast and pray to create a violent spiritual shift in the destiny of America. The mandate comes from Joel 2 that 2 generations fast and pray, says Che. This will be a day of worship and prayer as never been held before in this nation. As part of the preparation, the youth will have fasted one day and have consecrated themselves for the event. Up to 400,000 people are expected, and parents are encouraged to attend. In the darkest hour of this nation, we want 2 generations to come together to fast and pray. We are not coming to party; we are coming to seek the face of God, says Che.
The Call DC Board of Directors and Advisors includes youth leaders, pastors, church leaders, concerned parents and parents of children killed in schools. The list includes: Honorary Chairperson Pat Robertson, Wellington Boone, Dr. Kingsley Fletcher, Jim Goll, Jack Hayford, Marilyn Hickey, Cindy Jacobs, Josh McDowell, Darrell Scott (Rachel Scotts father), Tom Pelton, etc., etc. [CBN Profile Che' Ahn http://www.christianity.com/cbn ]
