- TRUE SIZE OF POOL OF SILOAM DISCOVERED DUE TO SEWER BLOCKAGE

Correspondent - If the central sewage line for Jerusalem's Old
City, which runs down the slope of the village of Silwan, had
not gotten blocked a year ago, it would probably have been many
years before we would have discovered the real dimensions of
the historic Pool of Siloam from the Second Temple Period. The
pool, whose present small dimensions date from Byzantine times,
is the outlet for the spring water coursing through the ancient
Hezekiah's tunnel. It was once huge - three to four dunams. And
if the huge dimensions of the pool had not been discovered, it
is doubtful that the Israel Antiquities Authority and the Elad
association, which is working for the development of the area
also known as the City of David, would not have come across the
dramatic discovery now underway: the far end of a street dating
from the Herodian period, which begins at the outer southwestern
corner of the Temple Mount and is familiar to visitors to the
Western Wall.
When the sewage main first backed up during the winter of 2004,
the Israel Nature and Parks Protection Authority, responsible
for the archaeological sites around the Old City's walls, called
for a halt to the repair work and took advantage of the opportunity
to dig a heretofore unexcavated part of the City of David. Archaeologists
Ronny Reich and Eli Shukron, who are directing the dig for the
IAA and Elad, say that for the first time they are now able to
trace the street that connected the Temple Mount in Second Temple
times with the Pool of Siloam. Other portions of the road were
revealed by the 19th-century Jerusalem explorers Bliss and Dickey
and in 1963 by archaeologist Kathleen Kenyon. Now, the last piece
of the puzzle has come to light near the pool. Among the finds
near the street are coins from the Great Revolt of the Jews against
the Romans, from the years 67,68 and 69 C.E. For the whole story

in several Israeli newspapers, indicating the date, the place
and even some names of the participants and details of this act.
It seems to be particularly paradoxical to find practical hidden
or magical here within the Judaism, evident by means of a cabalistic
curse, in spite of the numerous prohibitions that we found in
the Torah, that is the Old Testament, that continues being more
the venerated book of the Jews. Let us pray by La Paz of Israel
and its governors as Pablo teaches to the Apostle: "By the
kings and all those that are in eminence, so that we live reposadamente
quiets and in all mercy and honesty" (1 You 2:2). Let us
take note: Pablo does not make a call so that we participate
in policy, but to that we pray, so that, like believers, we pruned
"to live quiet and reposadamente in all mercy and honesty".

- CONFIRMED: PM ARIEL SHARON IS (AT LEAST CLINICALLY) DEAD

Reliable sources indicate to Israel Insider that PM Ariel Sharon
died at 11 am. Israeli media channels still report his condition
is "very grave." Director of Hadassah Hospital Shlomo
Mor-Yosef officially denies "rumors" of death and says
Sharon's condition is "serious but stable."
- Channel 10 reports those closest to Sharon as saying he has
suffered "brain damage." A likely explanation to reconcile
the two reports is that Sharon has suffered brain death -- the
lack of cerebral activity -- but that his heart continues beating,
while he remains anesthetized and respirated.
- Mor-Yosef, briefing journalists at the hospital's gate, said
that "the prime minister is suffering from low intracranial
pressure, and is heavily sedated. He will be respirated for at
least the next 24 hours. All the parameters that we can check
are as expected, following an operation of this type."
- He said he came out to counter rumors of Sharon's death.
"I came out to update you and to refute the rumors flooding
the country," he said, referring to rumors claiming that
Sharon had already died, and that the news is being delayed for
one reason or another.
- "Sharon is still alive," a Sharon aide in the intensive
care unit told Ynet. But Channel Ten quotes "someone very
close" to the PM as saying that he had suffered "brain
damage" -- to what extent was not indicated -- unconnected
with the effects of the operation... Perhaps the most important
reason for the delay is to allow time for the preparation of
a state funeral and the invitation to world leaders to attend.
According to the expected schedule, Channel 10's Emmanuel Rosen
reported,Sharon will be detached from one or more of his life
support machines in the next day or two, with the likelihood
that he will not be able to survive without support. At that
point, Rosen, "the most difficult" decision would need
to be made.

is planned for Sunday, when world markets are closed, assuming
that this will suffice to accommodate the travel plans of A-list
world and Jewish leaders.

today, it was the Peres-Rubin team that murdered Yitzhak Rabin.
When Rubin was shown on television news accompanying Sharon's
stretcher, suspicions spread throughout the country.
For two days, Sharon remained in hospital where he underwent
intensive tests. We may ask, how did they miss the blood clot
that struck Sharon barely two weeks later? The timing of Sharon's

- POLICE : EVIDENCE Police Say There´s Evidence Linking

- The first thing you will notice is the pyramid with the all
Seeing Eye just like the one you will see on the American dollar

of Israel love selective mentioning of UN resolutions, but they
do not like when people actually read the original text of the
resolutions. Quite often, interpretation of the UN resolutions
has nothing to do with the actual text. Most of them were not
even adopted due to the fact that Arab countries rejected them
at the time.
- The text of UN resolution 181 has clearly specified the right
of Jews to live in Gaza, Judea and Samaria – West Bank.
Therefore, the deportation of 8,500 Jews from Gaza was immoral
and illegal act.:
- Resolution 181 (II). Future government of Palestine, adopted
on 29 November 1947, address the issue of citizenship of the
future population of Palestine.
- Chapter 3 - Citizenship, international conventions and financial
obligations
- 1. Citizenship. Palestinian citizens residing in Palestine
outside the City of Jerusalem, …upon the recognition of
independence, become citizens of the State in which they are
resident and enjoy full civil and political rights. …Persons
over the age of eighteen years may opt, within one year from
the date of recognition of independence of the State in which
they reside, for citizenship of the other State, providing that
no Arab residing in the area of the proposed Arab State shall
have the right to opt for citizenship in the proposed Jewish
State…
- At the time of declaration of Israel independence Arabs were
not residents of Israel, but of a proposed Arab state. Arabs
rejected the UN partition plan. They rejected the independence.
As a result, they should be the citizens of an Arab state, like
Syria, Lebanon, Iraq etc... – the countries where the most
of them had come from.
- Questions still must be asked: Why did the Israeli government
grant the citizenship to Arabs, who were “residing in the
area of the proposed Arab State”, like Arabs of Jaffa or
Negev? At the same time when 850,000 Jews were being expelled
from Arab states. Why did the government of Israel not apply
this paragraph of the UN resolution, but opted for creation of
self-destructive, demographic problems in Israel? Why only the
anti-Israel parts of the UN resolutions, even not adopted ones,
promoted and implemented?
- UN resolution allowed Jews to live outside borders of the
Jewish state, officially endorsed by UN, just as Arabs have been
residing in the state of Israel. Recently, Jews were deported
from Gaza by Sharon. Why are Arabs not deported from Israel,
using the twisted same logic of ‘peace’? By rejecting
the UN Resolutions 181 and 242, Arabs lost any legal claim to
Gaza and West Bank. Therefore, protest against Jews living in
West Bank and Gaza is just another Arab anti-Israel propaganda
ploy, supported by International anti-Semites and the self-hated
Jews.
- ‘The big and important issues’ like: construction
of by-pass roads, Sharon’s visit to the Temple Mount, Jerusalem
tunnel etc… - were forged trepidations. The purpose they
are used, is to divert public attention from legitimate right
of Jewish people to live on their ancestral land, create political
instability and to hide the obvious intention of Arab states,
including PA, to destroy Israel!

into several cantons. Both the Jewish state and the Arab state
had 3 cantons each that touched each other south of Nazareth

Nations held a "Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People"
last week. A large map of Palestine, with Israel literally wiped
off the map, featured prominently in the festivities. The ceremony
was held at the UN headquarters in New York and was attended
by Secretary General Kofi Annan and the Presidents of the UN
Security Council and the General Assembly. Map of "Palestine"
from the Jordan River to the sea, with no mention of the Jewish
State.
- During the festivities, a map
labeled a map of Palestine was displayed prominently between
UN and PLO flags. The map, with 'Palestine' written in Arabic
atop it, does not include Israel, a member of the UN for 56 years.
The map does not even demarcate the partition lines of November
29, 1947, marking a Jewish state alongside an Arab state. The
partition was dictated by the UN General Assembly itself.

Secretary-General Annan addressed the public meeting at UN Headquarters.
Kofi Annan sits at the dais with the map negating the Jewish
State's existence in the background. At the start of the ceremony,

a minute of silence in memory of all those who have given their
lives for the cause of the Palestinian people, the master of
ceremonies said, and the return of peace between Israel and Palestine".

wording was aimed at giving honor to the worst of Palestinian

she crawls under the kitchen table and stays there. When this
behavior began last year, her mother, Ofra, thought it was a
game. But after some cajoling, it turned out it was the girl's
way of dealing with the security hardships that have blighted
her short life—the Qassam rockets on Sderot, the sound of
Israel Defense Forces shells fired at the Gaza Strip, the sonic
booms from Israel Air Force planes.
- The Maman family is not unusual. A recent examination of
120 families in Sderot with small children found that in more
than half, the parents and/or the children, are suffering from
post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Many of these families
will shortly begin psychotherapy as part of a project employing
methods that were developed in New York to treat traumatized
9/11 victims.
- Tahel Maman jumps at any little noise — from the hum
of a drill to a door slam. So does her 7-year-old brother. When
the early -warning system Red Dawn sounds against an incoming
Qassam, the children freeze on the spot. If it happens at night,
their mother takes them into her bed. She herself hasn't slept
well in more than four years, constantly fearful of another rocket.

condition while battling for his life after undergoing a third
brain surgery in an Israeli hospital in Jerusalem, but they could
not conceal their concern over the political uncertainty and
vacuum following the end of his era and could not afford not
to "closely monitor the situation." The death or incapacitation
of Sharon, 77, would create a huge vacuum in Israeli as well
as in regional politics. "We're uncertain where the Israelis
are going to go with the end of the Sharon era," Palestinian
former deputy premier and information minister Nabil Shaath told
CNN. The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) is in touch with
Israeli officials about Sharon's condition. "We are closely
monitoring the situation," Palestinian chief negotiator
Saeb Erakat said... "Sharon achieved neither peace nor security
for his people or ours. He simply managed to convince the world
that avoiding negotiations by imposing a unilateral policy was
fair," said PNA Minister of Planning Ghassan Khatib... Sharon
had been campaigning on a platform of holding on to major West
Bank colonial settlement blocs, a prospect Palestinians say would
deny them a viable state. However "a living Sharon is better
for the Palestinians now," Palestinian analyst Ghazi al-Saadi
told al-Arabiya satellite television station... Islamic Jihad
leader Anwar Abu Taha called Sharon a bloody tyrant who should
"go to hell." Palestinians Unable to Forgive At the
popular level Palestinians were unable to forgive. "I believe
that he (Sharon) should not die before he is tried for the massacres
he committed in the past decades - he should be tried in the
present life, not in heaven," said Abdul Rahim al-Shaikh,
a philosophy professor at Birzeit University in the West Bank..
- The economic suffering caused by Sharon is equally terrible.
In 2004, the World Bank reported that after almost four years
of conflict and Israeli restrictions on movement, nearly half
of all Palestinians were living below the poverty line, with
16 percent of the population unable to afford the most basic
necessities. Incomes had dropped by more than a third, and a
quarter of the workforce was unemployed.
- "He mustn't die in hospital," said Feras Astoun,
a Palestinian of east Jerusalem.."As he killed so many Palestinians,
so must he be killed. He should die violently. It is the unfortunate
truth but most people feel this way," he added...
- However others saw that Sharon's departure would not herald
any change.

tactics," said Ismail Abu Al-Abed, 32, a blacksmith and
member of Hamas who spent seven years in Israeli prisons. Imad
al-Sarraj, 40, a private school administrator who commutes to
work from Ramallah to Jerusalem, agreed: "Whether Sharon
is alive or not, the Jews have one policy. They will continue
building the wall, which means for me personally that I will
lose my job because I won't be able to get to Jerusalem."

from the embassy told The Jordan Times that "the embassy
will be closed until further notice due to a security alert."
The British Foreign Office on Saturday also updated its advice
to Britons visiting Jordan, while stopping short of warning against
travelling to the Kingdom. "Terrorists may be in the final
stages of planning attacks against Westerners and places frequented
by Westerners," read the statement ... . "If you are
planning to travel to Jordan, you should take sensible precautions
for your personal security arrangements throughout your visit.
...," said the statement. Judeh emphasised that no terror
threat is ever taken lightly and said that security measures
around the embassy had been reinforced. The decision to close
the embassy comes amid heightened security measures throughout
the Kingdom following the November 2005 suicide bombings in Amman
that left 60 people dead and tens injured. . . . Since the attacks,
security has been stepped up at the country's major institutions
and leisure facilities, with metal detectors and security guards
positioned at the entrances to hotels, restaurants and shopping
malls.

Lebanon after he was caught operating a Fatah terror cell. Once
in Lebanon, Jaris continued working for the Fatah and was responsible
for sending terrorists across the border into Israel. In 1996,
Jaris returned to Israel together with additional officials from
the Palestinian Authority and from May 2001 until November 2003
he served as the head of the Fasuta Local Council. In September
2004, police said, Jaris traveled to Cyprus to meet with Hani
Abdullah - a friend he made in Lebanon - to promote the establishment
of a joint research center. Abdullah told Jaris that the center,
if he wanted, could be funded by the Hizbullah and Iran. Jaris
agreed. Two months later, police said, Abdullah called Jaris
and told him to come to Cyprus to meet an Iranian donor for the
center. During his police interrogation, Jaris admitted that
the man he met was from Iranian Intelligence. The agent asked
Jaris to "infiltrate the Israeli political system, to create
political contacts and to join an existing Israeli political
party," police said. Jaris joined Meretz towards the end
of 2004 and in conversations with political activists expressed
interest in becoming a member of Knesset. Three months later,
Jaris visited Cyprus for a third time. There he met with two
Iranian agents who asked him about his past and his connections
with politicians in Israel. Following the meeting, Jaris was
asked to try and establish contacts with the top political echelon.

world, Al-Arabiya has aired a scandalous and despicable film
that is completely biased in favor of the executioner at the
expense of the victims of occupation," the leaflets charged.
"This film depicts female suicide bombers as a group of
women suffering from psychological problems and who are under
pressure from males. It claims that in order to rid themselves
of these problems, these women are prepared to kill themselves.
They also claimed that these women were ill- behaved." The
group hailed female suicide bombers for their role in "defending
the people and the land," saying they had brought honor
to Islam and Muslims worldwide. The Aksa Martyrs Brigades ...demanded
an investigation to find out who had financed it and who was
behind it. ... .The controversial film tells the story of female
suicide bombers in Iraq, Russia, Afghanistan and the Palestinian

One of the women interviewed for the film is Nawal El Saadawi,
a leading Egyptian feminist, sociologist, medical doctor and
militant writer on Arab women's problems. Since she began to
write over 25 years ago, El Saadawi's books have all focused
on Arab women, their sexuality and legal status. From the start,
her writings were considered ...dangerous ... and were banned
in Egypt. In 1977, she published her most famous work, The Hidden
Face of Eve, which covered a host of topics relative to Arab
women such as aggression against female children and female genital
mutilation, prostitution, sexual relationships, marriage and
divorce and Islamic fundamentalism. Journalists working for Al-Arabiya
expressed deep concern over the threats... . "We were not
involved in the film," one of them told The Jerusalem Post.
"The film was produced by a foreign company and purchased
by Al-Arabiya." Saif Eddin Shaheen, a correspondent in the
Gaza Strip for Al- Arabiya, was attacked in 2004 by Fatah gunmen
for reporting on the power struggle in Fatah. Five masked gunmen
attacked Shaheen as he was driving to his Gaza City office. During
the attack ... he was beaten and his assailants fired shots in
the air. One of his attackers, who identified himself as a Fatah
member, said he would "teach him a lesson in journalism."
Four months earlier, on September 13, 2003 a group of armed men
ransacked the offices of the same television station in Ramallah.
The Palestinian Authority publicly condemned the incidents and
announced the opening of an investigation, but no one was arrested.

- EGYPT THREATENS ABBAS
- THE JERUSALEM POST Jan. 10, 2006 - Egypt threatened to withdraw
its support for the Palestinian Authority if the PA did not act
to control the rampant anarchy in the Gaza Strip, according to
a report in the London Arab newspaper Al Quds. The report claimed
that following the incident at the Rafah border crossing in which
two Egyptian soldiers were killed, Egyptian authorities delivered
the threat to PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas as part of a specially
delivered message. Egypt also threatened to withdraw its support
for the peace process if the PA did not take the proper steps
to restore order to Gaza. Israel Radio reported that there were
no other confirmations of the account. In the incident at the
border crossing last Wednesday, two Egyptian border guards were
killed and at least 30 were wounded when scores of Fatah gunmen
opened fire at Egyptian army posts. They first demolished parts
of the concrete slabs along the border between Egypt and the
Gaza Strip, enabling many Palestinians to cross into Egypt.
- Eyewitnesses said the gunmen used a bulldozer and explosives
to create a hole in the wall. Egyptian border guards and Palestinian
Authority policemen fired into the air in an unsuccessful attempt
to prevent Palestinians from infiltrating into Egypt, they added.
The gunmen were protesting the arrest of one of their colleagues
by the PA security forces on charges of kidnapping three British

- SHIN BET HEAD: ARMS SMUGGLING IN GAZA HAS WORSENED
- THE JERUSALEM POST - January 10, 2006 - Head
of the Shin Bet Yuval Diskin said Tuesday afternoon that since
disengagement there had been a substantial increase in the amount
of weapons and explosives being smuggled into the Gaza Strip.
Speaking at the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee,
he said that thousands of rifles weresmuggled every month into
Gaza - four times the amount smuggled before disengagement. Diskin
added that tens of RPGs and two tons of explosives were also
smuggled into the Strip every month, Israel Radio reported.

Hussain Since September 30, the debate in Denmark over 12 published
drawings of the Prophet Muhammad has yet to abate. These charicatures,
as they are better described, caused anger among Muslims and
non-Muslims both in and out of Denmark where tehnews has slowly
spread... The project behind the drawings was, ostensibly, inspired
by the intimidation some artists felt vis-a-vis Islam, and the
feeling that, as a result, freedom of expression was under threat.
In the subsequent controversy, many opinion-shapers have spoken
of their bemusement over the reaction of Muslims and why they
should be so sensitive over something that poked fun at religious
figures. There was even a not-so-hidden wonderment that Muslims
didn't find the derision and laughter directed at their religion
somehow edifying.
- But long before these drawings came into the public domain,
there was widespread apprehension among Danish Muslims over the
way they and their religious affiliation were presented in the
media. The image projected in the Danish media of Islam has been
one of a faith that did not undergo a reformation and renaissance
similar to Christianity and is thus stuck in the middle ages.
The drawings are simply a culmination of several years of media
persecution of the Muslim minority in Denmark.
- Even worse is the role elected politicians have played in
stoking this fire. It is not unusual for certain politicians
to make the ill-willed and mistaken but common equation that
Muslims are immigrants, and immigrants are badly integrated and
therefore the root of all evil in Danish society. Beyond the
prejudice against immigrants in general this belies, it also
contradicts the fact that most Muslims in Denmark have been here
for 30-40 years and many are born here. But if that is pointed
out, they are simply called second or third generation immigrants.
Even ethnic Danish Muslim converts are described by the derogatory
"ersatz-immigrants"; one politician has gone so far
as to compare these converts to Nazis, and, in all seriousness,
advocate that they be placed under surveillance as they constitute
a threat to society. A politician from the same party described
Muslims as a spreading cancer, while others have suggested criminals
of non-Danish ethnic background should be interned or exiled
with their closest family.
- The fact that elected politicians can make such statements
and at the same time claim to be standard bearers for democracy,
freedom of expression and human rights is a serious indictment
of the degeneration of public morals... Of course, those who
leave will be those with the qualifications and necessary economic
ballast, and Denmark will be left with those from the lower socio-economic
strata. That in turn will reinforce the perception of Muslims
as simply constituting a drain on the welfare system.
- Just as it is now so in the future our responsibility is
to make this multi-ethnic society function. In this context,
a lack of sensitivity in the way we Danes express ourselves in
public constitutes a threat to peaceful co-existence. I hope
that in the future we will be able to frame our public debate
on this issue in a less divisive manner to avoid further polarization.
The right of freedom of expression comes with a burden of responsibility.-
