- SYRIAN PRESIDENT BASHAR AL-ASSAD IS URGING ARAB AND MUSLIM
COUNTRIES TO UNITE
har al-Assad is urging Arab and Muslim countries to unite in
the face of US threats and "foreign conspiracies" as
Washington prepares for a possible attack on Iraq. Iran's official
IRNA newsagency said Assad reiterated Syria's opposition to any
US military strike on Baghdad and called for "deeper unity
and solidarity among Arab and Muslim countries in the face of
American threats against the region."

- Enemies of Baghdad Assad was speaking after a meeting in
Damascus with Mohammed Sader, a senior Iranian foreign ministry
official. Syria and Iran, both erstwhile enemies of Baghdad,
oppose any strike on Iraq which they fear could spread to target
them. Syria, which has begun rebuilding economic ties with Baghdad
in recent years, also fears losing what diplomats claim is a
UN sanctions-busting oil trade. Syria and Iraq say oil deals
fall within the UN oil-for-food programme.

- Sponsoring terrorism US President George W. Bush accuses
Syria, Iran and Iraq of sponsoring terrorism and has branded
Baghdad and Tehran part of an axis of evil bent on acquiring
weapons of mass destruction. Bush has made clear Washington's
determination to oust Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, but Baghdad
has dismissed any suggestion of a tripartite alliance between
Iraq, Iran and Syria to face US threats. IRNA said Assad had
called on the region to "challenge the conspiracies woven
in foreign circles against the countries of the region."

- THE SIX DAY WAR IN ISRAEL HAD INTERESTING CONSEQUENCES
The author of a book addressing the 3 day war in Israel said
that the United Nations created a partitioned state of Israel
with Palestinians on one area and Israel in the other. The Palestinians
were not satisfied and pushed for more then. In 1949 Israeli's
took an additional 30% due to this pressure. The Westbank was
earmarked for Palestinians and the Gaza strip was to be Egyptian.
In 1956 occurred the 3-day war. The weapons in the 6 day war
1967 came from France and the Jordanians used weapons from Russia.
Jordanians used British planes. Syria and Iraq are pro Russia.
Israel has tripled in size since the 1967 war and brought about
the Resolution 242 by the United Nations. There was a major change
after this war. The relationship with the U.S. developed, NAFTA
was completed, the Nationalist Arab movement emerged as well

- WHEN THE OSLO AGREEMENT CRASHED, SO DID THE DELUSION OF POST
ZIONISM
For almost a decade I have been involved in activities aimed
at reducing or eliminating the dangers of the Oslo "peace"
agreement. An agreement that began as a wishful attempt to finally
bring peace into this area has opened this land into the hands
of a band of murderers and thugs. The agreement also seemed to
give wings to a fantasy of a release from any commitment to our
national heritage and history. After thousands of years of persecution
and hatred a theory developed that perhaps would release people
from the curse of "being different". This age old fantasy
declared if we looked and acted like everyone else, maybe we,
the Jews, wouldn't be hated so much.

- The proponents of this agreement revelled in the notion that
Israel could be a land cut off from its past and disconnected
from its destiny, a land and a people living in the here and
now. This approach that was to be named "post Zionism"
quickly attracted the thinkers and proponents of the Oslo Agreement.
They envisioned an Israel at peace with her neighbours and in
identity and culture, no different from any other nation. They
disdained any ideas that were preoccupied with the past, and
therefore were unwilling or unable to contend with the lessons
derived from that past. They were also contemptuous of any theories
that dealt with future and destiny and therefore lost any visions
of hope and goals. They only had the Oslo peace agreement and
in a blind secular messianic fervor they trudged forward, ignoring
the statements of the terrorists around them or the facts on
the ground. When the Oslo agreement crashed and splintered into
thousands of pieces ... so did the delusion of post Zionism.

this is the first 'conspiracy' which has proudly called itself
one, gone public with details of their program, and shown a confidence

one can stop them. What is more unsettling, they are convinced
that no one in his right mind will WANT to stop them. Not even
the Jews. Their anti-Semitism is projected as benevolent correction
which will be embraced by the Jews themselves, once they really
understand (not to be confused with similar Christian attitudes
- this movement also targets hard-core Christians as 'spiritual
Jews').

- COMPREHENSIVE US PLAN TO REBUILD PALESTINIAN ADMINISTRATION
20 July 2002 - Without waiting for Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Europe
or Saudi Arabia, the Bush administration is forging forward alone
with a grand scheme for overhauling the Palestinian Authority
[PA/PLO] politically, economically, militarily and administratively,
a scheme so broad that the term "reforms" does not
begin to do it justice. This go-it-alone mode first emerged in
the face of European and Arab resistance to US preparations for
an offensive against Baghdad...

- The president said that as security improves, Israel must
withdraw its troops back to the "geographic boundaries of
September 2000" and "deal with the settlements."
Speaking to the press after meeting with the foreign ministers
of Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia Thursday, Secretary of State
Colin Powell said he had "reaffirmed to my colleagues President
Bush's commitment... to working as hard as possible to try to
achieve a final settlement within the three-year period."

- Stage two sees the election of new Palestinian leadership.
Here there are disagreements, as the US believes a new constitution
should be drawn up before elections are held, so that the newly
elected leadership can immediately begin negotiations with Israel
on a permanent agreement. The EU, UN, and Russia are pushing
for elections to be held first, to include elections for a prime
minister, who would then oversee the drafting of a new constitution.

- Stage three of the plan sees the establishment of a Palestinian
state within three years. The US agreed this week that the Palestinian
Arabs should be asked whether they will accept a state that initially
has temporary borders and characteristics. However, administration
officials stress that Bush will only discuss moves forward with
an alternative Palestinian leadership.

- US TO PRESENT NEW TENET PLAN IN 'VERY NEAR FUTURE'
20 July 2002 - US State Department spokesman Richard Boucher
said Friday that US officials would present to Israel and the
Palestinians details of a security plan developed by CIA Director
George Tenet "in the very near future." That plan,
approved last Friday by US officials and presented this week
to Arab foreign ministers and other members of the international
"Quartet" on the Middle East, calls for the United
States to take the lead in creating a new Palestinian security
force...
- The CIA is developing a plan to train Palestinians in controlling
violence. The aim is to develop a "responsible and professional"
Palestinian security force, security officials added. Officials
said the Central Intelligence Agency would play a central role
in training the Palestinians. Senior European Union diplomat
Javier Solana told a news conference that a US-led team headed
by CIA Director George Tenet would go to the Middle-East within
two weeks to install the new security mechanism...
- Asked with whom the United States would deal, Powell refused
to name anyone. "We are in touch with Palestinian leaders
and we expected the partner will be identified by Tenet can work

- THE TEMPLE MOUNT
20 July 2002 - There is no supervision whatsoever on the Temple
Mount. We have no way of knowing what is going on underground
in the large caverns, where the Waqf had been making preparations
to build and make major changes... We do see that the Southern
Wall is beginning to buckle because of the changes they are making.

- SHARON'S AGENDA & ARAFAT'S IRRELEVANCE
By Moshé Machover - Shimon Peres concluded that a way
must be found to get the Palestinians to police themselves. This
of course meant giving them some degree of autonomy. It also
required a willing Palestinian partner, who would be ready to
lead an autonomous Palestinian Authority -- on Israeli terms.
These terms include bearing sole responsibility for preventing
any attack on Israeli soldiers, settlers or civilians -- and
taking full blame for any attacks that do occur.
As it happened, such a partner was found in the apparently
unlikely shape of Yasir Arafat, who was desperate for a deal
at almost any price. His feeble bargaining position was of his
own making. By foolishly siding with Saddam Hussein in the Gulf
War (instead of taking the morally justified and politically
astute position of "a plague a both your houses"),
Arafat cut the financial branch on which he had been sitting
so comfortably. Until the Gulf War, he had maintained his control
of the PLO and manipulation of its personnel by means of ample
funds flowing from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States, both as
direct government subventions and as taxes he was allowed to
levy on the large Palestinian refugee community profitably employed
there. Suddenly the funds were cut off, and Arafat was left bereft
of his means of control.
- No wonder he was ready to accept Israel's terms at Oslo,
without -- so insiders report -- even bothering to read the small
print. For Peres' plan, which he eventually managed to sell to
an initially reluctant Rabin, this was a very "relevant"
