November 06, 2001 This is in the U K. It looks similar enough
to networks in the U S A and I suppose these are developed, or
developing, in other areas of the world.
The Evangelical Alliance has already conducted 20 regional
briefings with local church leaders to discuss how they can become
involved, and has held meetings with key denominational heads
to discuss their endorsement and
participation. A wide range of agencies has shown interest. Large
numbers of people at Spring Harvest and Easter People have had
the opportunity to take away FaceValues material. We are currently
creating a church pack, which
will provide a mission menu and other resources to help you to
plan your programmes.
What will this mean for you?
Here are a few examples of how FaceValues may fit into your
evangelistic and community action programmes in 2002:
Large city-centre church: host event for health professionals
on ethics in modern medicine; review homeless project;
home groups run FaceValues evenings for friends; start
new Alpha course. Small urban church: encourage three
members to join Community Forum team; start Jesus Video
project with two neighbouring churches; begin joint Alpha
course.
Suburban church: establish Houses of Prayer; hold a Rebuild
Community Week; host FaceValues 'Help, I'm a Parent' evening
in local school; use FaceValues material in schools work.
Medium church in dormitory village: start prayer-visiting
scheme; run FaceValues holiday club; hold FaceValues evangelistic
Harvest supper; use FaceValues material for inter-church
carol service.
