Dec. 1999- UPDATE...More on Benny Hinn
In the first issue of Vanguard, we ran a slightly controversial article entitled Unmasked - Benny Hinn. In that article, written by Neil Richardson, many aspects of the teachings and doctrines of Mr Hinn, who remains one of the most popular pseudo-Pentecostal figures in the world, were shown to be erroneous. That article attracted a certain degree of criticism from some quarters, partly due to the fanciful notion that Mr Hinn had since repented of his erroneous ways.
We now present startling evidence to the contrary, enough to convince any reasonable person that this man should not be received as a brother.
In the weekly journal WEST AFRICA, dated 2-8 September 1996, Christian sociologist Michael Amoah wrote an article entitled Christianity and Politics, in which he examined the impact of evangelistic crusades on African politics. The first paragraph reads as follows:
"In August, during the week-long "Mission to London" Pentecostal gatherings at Earl's Court Arena, one of the preachers, Benny Hinn, is known to have mentioned the fact that during his most recent visit to Ghana (perhaps in November 1995), he was invited by the President to the Castle. During the meeting, the President communicated something to the effect that Benny Hinn has power, so he should speak to his people (Ghanaians), since they would rather listen to the preacher than to himself [Rawlings]. Various arguments have arisen out of this comment. Most prominent of these is that if Jerry Rawlings thinks that Christians have that much power, then why is he not "born again"? Perhaps, then, he could talk to Ghanaians better?"
This article drew the following response from the Office of the President of Ghana. Sent by V. A. Sackey, Public Affairs Secretariat, it appeared in the letters page of WEST AFRICA, dated 16-22 September 1996. In this response, he accuses Mr Hinn of being:
"rather generous in embellishing the truth!"
These rather generous embellishments, ... were used by Mr Hinn to raise money from a largely African audience. These embellishments included the claim that 500,000 people filled the Accra Sports Stadium which, Mr Sackey points out, can only hold about 125,000. Mr Hinn claims to have been invited to return to Ghana as the President's guest. This is also denied by Mr Sackey, who points out that there was:
"merely a remark that he and other religious leaders are welcome to visit Ghana."
The claim that Mr Hinn was asked to get a message across because he had more power than the President is true however, which sounds impressive until one learns what this message was. Again, from Mr Sackey's response:
"The President attends many religious functions of all persuasions, and meets with visiting religious leaders who so request, not merely as a duty but out of recognition of the role of religious groups in strengthening the moral values of the nation." [NB - this includes Christian, Muslim and traditional priests].
The "message" which the President asked Hinn to stress to his congregation was a topic which the President himself often raises at religious and other gatherings. This is that passive prayer of words and thoughts needs to be supported by the prayer of action... we must all be prepared to get up and do something about our problems, rather than wait for intervention from above.
Not only has Mr Hinn been exposed as a fraud by a secular authority, thus shaming himself, but he has also shamed the gospel and the efforts of those who are sincere in their desire to reach Africa with the good news of Jesus. As President Rawlings of Ghana said [Ghanaian Times, 31st August]:
"...because of the deep religiosity of our people, some so-called men of God use the bible to exploit their credulity."
We stand by our initial article about Mr Hinn, and will seek to oppose his influence at every opportunity.

Steve,
I appreciate your site, however I am not that great at finding what I wanted from it. I would like to gather all I can on Benny Hinn as he just had a Revival Meeting in my town. I worked the meeting for the institution where it was held. What I saw really disturbed me. I saw all of the people who were in very bad shape headed off by the ushers before they could approach the stage for healing. I'm not sure what his ushers were telling them, but they would talk to them and then steer them to the back of the floor and leave them sit there the rest of the night.
I also heard Benny say that if you didn't accept the Lord during his alter call that when you decided the next day to call upon the Lord to come into your life that he would say "Sorry, I was there yesterday." What a crock, all good Christians know that the Lord will come any time that you asked him into your heart whether he was there a day or a year ago. Benny also says that the Healing is done by the Lord, but it has to be done in a gathering such as his because the Lord has to have a feeling of expectancy in the air and only large groups gathered together can make the feeling strong enough that the Lord will show up to heal the sick.
There are several of my fellow Christians that are very disturbed by the message that Benny Hinn gives and we would like to have all the information we can about his ministery. If you could direct me to information about him (NOT HIS SITE) that would reveal his true purpose (MONEY) I would appreciate it.

On the'god' Christian Channel Europe we are never told to come and love the master, but instead we have a message which says come and love what's on the masters table! These teachers claim they are not "lovers of money" but why is it that most of the time they are talking about Money, and about getting money! The Scriptures warn about such teachers who will come into the church in the latter times.
The great Apostle Paul warns... "In the last days....men shall be...covetous [literally, lovers of money],....having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away" (2 Tim. 3:1-5)
The great Apostle Paul warns... And our hope of you is steadfast. knowing that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of consolation. For we would not, brethren, have ye ignornat of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life. But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead. Paul writes again "But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things that I may win Christ......That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death." [Phil 3:7-10]
Paul writes again "Not that I speak in respect of want for I have learned in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know how to abound every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
'Testimoney' - How I got Money!
Often when at a church meeting you would hear a testimony of how someone came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. On the Christian Channel Europe we have a different kind of testimonys! Yes amazingly we have testimonys given of how one get's money!
The arrogance of those that appear on the God Channel is enought to make one sick! The Apostle James warns "My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. For if there come into your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say to him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts? Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment-seats? Do they not blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called? If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well: But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors."

According to the faith teachers we are not to say "Lord thy will be done" and we Christians do not obey God on no no! Instead according to Creflo Dollar, Jesus Christ is the High Priest and apostle of our confessions and He wants to obey our [Postitive] confessions! We are to command him to make us rich, Jesus is ready and willing to obey our commands! We just have to say it and to speak it just like the lady in the 'testimoney' above, and it will come to pass! Why because Jesus is obliged to obey our confessions!
Hebrews 3:1 is used to support this false teaching of Jesus having to obey our commands! However the faith teachers have indeed twisted this passage out of shape and pulled it out of context! The context of the passage in Hebrews 3 shows that Jesus Christ is Superior to Moses, and yes that Jesus Christ is the Apostle and High Priest of our profession! However our profession of faith is in Jesus Christ and his Finished work! This passage does not teach in any way that Jesus Christ obeys our commands! The Scriptures clearly teach that we as Christians obey Jesus Christ and keep his commands! Faith teachers have it the wrong way round, but sadly it get worse!

Those on the 'god' channel hate being checked out, and they do not like their teachings being questioned! Threats and warings are issued with out of context pre-texts as "touch not the Lord's Anointing" and "Judge not lest ye be Judge!" Paul called the Bereans more noble in Acts 17:11 as they tested his teachings against Scripture!

The apostle Paul warns "I earnestly wish ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present [you as] a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him." [2 Cor 11:1-4]
The Christian Channel Europe through its preachers demote the Lord Jesus Christ to a Spirit filled man, who never claimed to be God, [Romans 1:21-23] and who could of sinned! Benny Hinn teaches that if it was not for the Holy Spirit Jesus Christ would of Sinned! It gets worse Hinn also teaches that Jesus would never of rose again from the dead if it was not for the Holy Spirit!
Sadly Hinn like others on 'god' channel, overlook the clear fact that Jesus Christ was God, and did in fact claim to be God! [John 9:56-59; John 10:30-33] Jesus Christ was indeed tempted as we are in all things, but without sin! But the temptations had no effect on Jesus Christ proving the very fact that He was God Almighty! God knows no sin!
As it is written of Jesus Christ "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the word of life (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and testify, and show to you that eternal life which was with the Father, and was manifested to us;) That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard from him, and declare to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all."
So the truth is that Jesus Christ could never of sinned as He is God! Yes he was tempted, but the tempetition had no effect on Him as He cannot sin BECAUSE HE IS GOD!
Jesus Christ taught that "Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself, I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I reaceived of my Father."

"Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth: and he shall be held up: for God is able to make him stand." [Romans 14:4]
These verses have been clearly lifted out of their context. The first saying is from King David who could of killed Saul but he said "I will not lift up my hand against the Lord's Anointed" We are not to do any physical harm to the Lord's chosen, but this did not stopDavid from rebuking Saul!
We are not to judge as hypocrites, or are we too judge according to appearance but we are to "judge righteous judgement." [John 7:24]
The final quote from Romans is about judging one in meat and drink and reguarding Holy days.
This does not stop Christians from checking out Preachers and Teachers against the Scriptures to see it what they teach is really so" (Acts 17:11; 1 Thess 5:21)! We as Christians must read the Scriptures in their context! Jesus Christ warned His early disciples to be on their guard, to takeheed, to watch, to beware of the doctrine of the Pharisees, to beware because false teachers, false prophets and wolfs in Sheeps clothing would come and would decieve many! The Apostles followed in Jesus Christ's footsteps and issued the same warnings!
On the 'god' channel threats are issued to those like myself who would dare to question what they were doing was from God!

Finally Jesus Christ warned that many false prophets will arise and will deceive many! For a start Rory Alec the co-founder of 'god' channel has made a number of prophecys on television of which one has clearly failed which proves he is a false prophet! Rory Alec co-founder joined the false prophets hall of fame! His error was in proclaiming on a Christmas 1996 'Good Morning Europe' telecast that prophetically speaking [CCE]' was going to go from 7 hours a day to 24 hours a day carrying 5 languages in 1997. This was not Rory Alec's will but 'God the Father's will!
THIS PROPHECY DID NOT COME TO PASS!
What God are we taking about and what Father are we talking about because this prophecy has totally and utterly failed! In the OT God commanded that such prophets should be put to death! [Deut 13:1-5; Deut 18:20-23]. In fact in 1999 the 'god' channel went down from 7 to 6 hours per day. The 'god' of the Christian Channel Europe is therefore not the God of Scripture who in fact proves his existence and vindicates His word by telling through His prophets, what will happen in the future and watches over history to make sure that it does. [Isaiah 42:8-9, 42:9-10, 48:5]

[2] Paul says 'So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also
[3] Finally Paul states 'I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto Salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.'
Paul informs us in Romans 1:1-2 "Paul a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, [Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the Holy Scriptures]"
Paul informs us in Gal 1:6:11-12 "But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ."
Paul states in 1 Cor 15:1-4 the following and defines the gospel "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have recieved and wherin ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first that, which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; And that he was buired, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures;"
Paul states in Eph 1:13 that the result of believing the gospel is Salvation "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation"
Paul reminds us in 1 Cor 1:18 the following "The preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."
and again in 1 Cor 1:23 "we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock and unto the Greeks foolishness."
and again in 1 Cor 1:21 "it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe."
Paul also reminds us the following in Gal 6:14 "But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world."
Paul warns in 1 Cor 9:16 "For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel"
Paul again in Romans 10:16 "But they have not all obeyed the gospel, For Isaiah saith, Lord who hath believed our report"
Paul tells us about those who do not believe this gospel in 2 Cor 4:3 "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that our lost; In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them that believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."
Sadly Paul also warns us about enemies in the church Phil 3:18 "For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ; Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things"
Paul warns those who would preach another gospel in Gal 1:8-10 "But thought we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you let him be accursed. As I said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed."
Paul warns about those that will preach another gospel in 2 Cor 11:3-4 "But I fear lest by any means as the sepent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which we have not receieved, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might bear with him."
We have such enemies of the cross of Christ in the very walls of the church today and many of these so called 'Christians' do not preach the gospel that Paul preached! These people claim the are prophets and super apostles but who in truth are apostles of a different Gospel! Yet they are well excepted within many 'Christian' circles.
Paul warns Christians in 2 Cor 11:13 "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themeslves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light . Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers, also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."

Benny Hinn is getting out of control! In recent meetings he has looked like a man under the control of Satan! Everything about him changes, he is getting more & more aggressive and speaks like someone who is possessed! He admits that his wife and children are frightened when he comes under the "anointing" he is another man and he speaks things and does things that the real Benny Hinn would never do and say! Even his voice changes!
A Christian wrote this " I was changing channels on the TV when I chanced to stop and watch Hinn guesting on TBN's Praise the LORD program. He was discussing his meeting in Denver, Co. What caught my attention was his comment that not only does the "anointing" scare him, but his children are scared of him when he is under the "anointing". I remember thinking, "How could one have fear under God's annointing? And why would God cause children to feel fear? I can understand "awestruck" and "falling on one's face before our God, but "fear"? Then as I watched Hinn's antics, I realized that what I was seeing was not of God's Spirit, but another spirit.
Prior to my salvation, I was envolved in the occult and I recognized the difference when Hinn was growling and his mannerisms changed and his demeanor changed and his voice changed. People are so hungry for this apostasy and they blindly follow the false teachers without bothering to search the scriptures on their own to see is what is being preached is in line with the Word of God."
You have heard of Slain in the Spirit, Drunk in the Spirit! Now Benny Hinn on a recent "This is your Day" broadcast claims that God is dealing in drugs! He proclaims that one women who was rolling around on stage was getting "Ecstasy in the Spirit" [1]
On another "This is Your Day" telecast Benny Hinn states "I place a curse on every man and every women that will stretch his hand against this anointing! I curse that man who dares to speak a word against this ministry"
How sad to see so many people follow this false teacher/prophet! May God open the eyes of those caught up in these deceptions!

Benny Hinn can no longer deney Rodney Howard Brown. He was on his show this morning the 2 have joined together on tv and it may really start to get wierd now. Some were I read on 3 differnt sights that hinn sent his wife and kids down to pensicolla 2 or 3 differnt times he says the Pensacola is not of God yet sends his wife and kids, now he has Brown on his tv program so mwhat from here, am I the only one who thinks this is going to start getting more and more demonic.???????
