4 Reasons To Dump Sugar Now
Dear Calvin,
Everyday I talk to people who struggle with
depression, excess weight, mood swings, lack of energy and more.
Some are clients, some are friends, and some are
people I run into on the street, but they’re all regular folks just
like you and me. In almost every case, they’re consuming refined sugar.
Most people just don’t realize how dangerous sugar
really is. And the problem goes much deeper than simply feeling
depressed or “down” all the time.
What gets me so upset is, regardless of how many
scientific studies show the dangers of sugar, very few sources are
telling you the real truth about it. And that truth is...
Sugar is toxic
and deadly
Okay, so you probably think I’m exaggerating a
little, right? To be honest, you wouldn’t be the first one to think so.
But that’s my point. Most people treat sugar like it’s just an
innocent vice.
Well, the true danger is much more serious. And
there are three rock-solid reasons why you should get as far away from
refined sugar as possible.
Reason #1: Sugar
leads to cellular death
In 1957, Dr. William Coda Martin published a study
on the chemical effects of sugar on the body. In a nutshell, here’s
what he found ...
The process of refining sugar completely drains it
of vitamins and minerals. That’s why sugar is said to contain nothing
but empty calories. When the body tries to digest refined sugar, it
creates a toxic substance called pyruvic acid, which produces a lethal
effect on our cells.
Basically, sugar blocks oxygen from getting through,
resulting in cellular death. And, according to Dr. Martin, this “is the
beginning of degenerative disease.”
Reason #2: Sugar
drains the body of vitamins and minerals
Since sugar is so difficult to break down, our
bodies have to use a lot of vitamins and minerals just to make use of
it. So a sudden influx of sugar creates an incredible strain on the
body.
This means the body has to use its reserves of
sodium, magnesium, potassium, and other essential nutrients just to
bring itself back into balance.
In other words, sugar creates a chaotic mess in our
bodies and consumes a lot of our healthy resources to bring everything
back under control.
This is a main reason why tooth decay develops when
you eat too many sweets. Calcium, you see, is removed from the bones
and teeth to help protect the blood from the acid imbalances caused by
sugar. This leads to decay and weakening of the bones.
And sugar’s devastation effects on
the body just keeps going.
Reason #3: Sugar
assaults the body’s vital organs
Let’s follow sugar’s pathway through the body. At
first, sugar is stored in the liver in the form of glycogen. But after
a daily diet of refined sugar, the liver begins to swell up like a
balloon. This causes a backup of sugar (now in form of fatty trigylcerides)
in the blood.
Next stop ... storage of this fat in the waist,
buttocks, belly and thighs. After that, the fat is stored in the heart,
kidneys and other organs.
Serious health problems begin to develop as the
organs struggle to function, leading to high blood pressure, small
brain paralysis and Type 2 diabetes.
And, believe it or not, that’s just for starters.
Refined sugar adversely affects digestion, body chemicals and even the
nervous system.
Reason #4: Sugar
is as addictive as nicotine or drugs
Sugar affects the same “pleasure centers” in the
brain as alcohol and cocaine. As such, it is every bit as habit
forming.
Fortunately, sugar addiction can be broken.
And my new friend Nancy Desjardins has developed a method that works
like a charm.
